Cea-Los is always my go to for sea food and comfort food. Today was not the day. I'm not sure if they changed the cook or the owner but this is not it. I called to place a pick up order and the lady on the phone was very rude. We got our food and the cabbage, collard greens and mac and cheese was super dry. Mac and cheese looked like just plain noodles with butter. We had the cat fish dinner and it had one piece of cat fish. Very fishy taste and definitely did not fill us up. Cea-Lo Cafe is a fantastic spot for Comfort Food and Soul Food. It's soooo hard to find a place that has authentic Soul Food nowadays, that isn't soaked in grease and salted to Hell. Cea-Lo's is in its on league. Cea-Lo Cafe was introduced to me by my parents. They were driving by one day and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad they did because Cea-Lo's dinner specials will leave you feeling like Thanksgiving came early. Make a long story short. Food is a bit bland. I had the fried shrimp with yams & macaroni . The yams & macaroni were both oily & sloppy. Taste like leftovers from the business day before. The shrimps were few but tolerable. Everything else including the rugged cornbread went in the trash outside their restaurant. I am so sorry to have to say this. The first time I ate the food was good, even referred some friends their, but after today I will never eat there again. Who want mush candied yams.
