I've been a fan of Cap't Loui since the hARLEM location was called Loui Loui. Once my sister said they opened one in the Bronx I was thrilled to stop in and try it out with my family. Great service, only one mishap was I ordered a snow crab boil and received a king crab boil. I let the server know and the managers quickly adjusted the bill without any issue. That was commendable! Food was good and the place is super clean. Everyone is friendly and I can already tell this place is gonna be a great spot for the Bronx. I'm the community ambassador/manager for Bronx Yelp and I can tell these guys will do just great as long as they keep the energy the same as opening month....

I ordered the lobster roll with fries and it did not disappoint. The only complaint is that the fries came cold but I ordered from Uber eats so I won't deduct any stars. I Will be ordering again for sure!

I had it to go.

Been wanting to stop by here for a while now. Place is pretty big and very clean. I ordered to take out the fried shrimp and sweet potato fries and New England clam chowder. The shrimp was really good and had flavor and the sweet potato fries were good. I however did not like the cole slaw. It tasted like it had garlic. It comes with two dips. One was orange and the other is tartar sauce. I didn't like the tartar sauce but the orange one was really good. The clam chowder was really good as well. This will be my go to place for fried shrimp. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu!!! If you haven't stopped by there yet. Do so, and support our local restaurants in the throggs neck area.

Ok... Let me just give the owners a round of applause for opening a Cap't Loui in the BRONX! I was tired of traveling to harlem just for a boil bag. Let's talk about service. The host was our server. She was very pleasant and attentive. The place was empty, but she still was very nice. It's a BYOB right now because they're waiting on their liquor license, which was great because the liquor warehouse is only a few steps away. We bought our own Tito's nips to mix with their delicious mango lemonade! Top tier if you ask me! We had the calamari for a appetizer, which was fried to perfection. You can tell the oil is fresh! The fries were seasoned with a Cajun seasoning that was just right. We ended up ordering TWO! Ask for the lemon pepper fries too! Loved them. My boys had the shrimp basket. Shrimp were definitely a 21/25 or 16/20 IYKYK! JUMBO! My daughter and I had the snow crab boil bag with garlic noodles and egg. My nephew had the shrimp Po'boy. We ordered the funnel cake fries with ice cream for dessert which was bomb! I love funnel cake no matter where it's from lol. Everything was popping hot and flavorful. I really enjoyed everything. The only reason I gave them 4 star is because I was looking forward to having a "BRONX" draft beer like the harlem location, but there's no alcohol yet! Other than that..TWO THUMBS UP! Ps..They dipping sauce(the orange looking one) is sooo good!

Barely sauce and super salty

Run like a thief in the night with Seafood Mixer on Seward Ave. in Soundview. The plot where…read moreSeafood M. stands has become near and dear to the hearts of many Soundviewians. Including me. Whoever the business developers are, they took this overgrown grassy lot that's been vacant for the last 40 or so odd years and built a multi-business structure from scratch and Seafood M. dove in deep with it. I'll truthfully credit this find to my daughter- who, on her recent Holiday visit staying with Grandma, found this place on a whim. I jumped on it too days later. The first 2 dishes my kid got were the steamed AND seasoned Crab Legs+veggies and a steamed shrimp platter for my mom. According to her, my kid devoured the crab legs- which were perfectly steamed without making the shells soft. And my Mom's steamed Shrimp platter had a considerable amount of plump shrimp with a light seasoning that didn't overpower the seafood. On my recent trip though, I picked up the 3 piece Catfish-only meal and the 4 piece Whiting (the owner actually threw in like one or two pieces in there- thank you!). Both delicious. I may not be Southern, but I know a good dredge on fried fish when I see it and taste it. Renée(sp?) the owner- uses a fantastic and light that holds its own and doesn't crack into dust. The space may seem untidy- so don't come here for looks. Just come for the food. But, Renée has a great thing going and at 3 years strong, she's creating a sense of community and flare when Soundview never had a stand-alone fried fish/fish market spot. Wishing you much more success.

The service was great, and the ambiance was peaceful, just the cooking of seafood was in the air. No pictures this time cause I ate my food so fast. I got the fried Shrimp and fish basket with tartar sauce, buttered broccoli and a Peach seamoss drink. Some leftovers for lunch. Can't wait to go back...until next time my seafood lovers!

I'm also happy to report that their happy hour, though still in its early stages, is shaping up to be a solid way to give them a try. We ordered the mussels frites, fish sliders, crab bites, Brussels sprouts, and the pretzel with cheese. The absolute standouts were the fish sliders and the mussels in wine sauce. We usually get the fish and chips and mussels from the regular menu, so we had a feeling these would be the winners and they were. I'd 100% recommend both plates. We ended up ordering two rounds of fish sliders so that should say it all! :) The Brussels sprouts were roasted and simply prepared, which I really appreciated. I'm honestly over seeing fried Brussels on every menu, they're rarely that good and oily. If I could tweak anything, I'd add a sauce or drizzle for a little extra dimension, maybe balsamic or a sweet chili dip. Still, I'd absolutely order them again; they make for a great, lighter snack or side. The pretzel was pretty standard, but I liked that it didn't come salted since the cheese sauce has plenty of seasoning. It came out piping hot and stayed that way until the very last bite.  The crab bites were just okay for me. The sauce they come with is tasty, but I wish there was a little more flavor mixed into the crab itself, maybe some onions, peppers or herbs. However, they're not bad at all; they're full of crab meat and overall really solid. If you prefer a simpler flavor profile, you'll probably love them, especially with a squeeze of fresh lemon. We genuinely love Dakota's, and we'll keep coming back to enjoy the views and the great service. It's been nice seeing them evolve into a true neighborhood staple with all the events they've been hosting. Right now they're even running a toy drive, and they have toys available on site that you can purchase and drop directly into the donation box. Such a clever and thoughtful touch.  It's also worth mentioning that they're in full holiday mode right now, with decorations throughout the space. Whether you just want to soak up the festive atmosphere or snap a cute picture by the tree, they've got you covered.
