Love coming here for that vibe. The seafood itself it's fresh and I cannot get enough of the seasoning. They have different flavors such as garlic butter, Cajun and and option to mix all seasonings. With bigger groups the service isn't that fast however it is better with smaller groups as the food comes out quicker. The kitchen would often forget appetizers and things I ordered, and I would reorder again the second and or third round and still not receive my order. The ambiance of the restaurant is cute but enjoyable because of the music. Great chunes of course...that'll have you cracking shells and dancing in your seat at the highest regard. Shoutout to Solana for working the whole restaurant herself on a busy Sunday. She was takin orders, sitting folks at tables, bringing in drinks and checking up on everyone BY HERSELF. it was very impressive and appreciate her impeccable customer service and energetic spirit to go along with it. Taco Tuesday! We went here for Taco Tuesday after seeing the special posted on IG. Upon arrival the only available table for a party of 2 was directly in front of the DJ speakers so we sat at the bar. The bartender comes over and I tell her we're here for their Tuesday Happy Hour specials. As per their IG post tacos (ALL) are $2. So we ordered chicken, shrimp & steak. The bartender tells me the steak isn't included and is an additional charge. So I pull up the IG post which states differently. She's unaware of the post or special and has to run it by a manager. We ordered 6 tacos but 7 came out. I pointed out the extra taco she apologized and said we wouldn't be charged for it. Next I order the froze. The froze and the margarita were both juice like. Entirely too sweet for the froze and too much sour mix on the margarita. The tacos were mid, steak was tough & chicken wasn't seasoned. The check comes and we were charged the $2 for the steak taco, the 7th taco that I didn't order (the bartender was suppose to comp) was on the bill and froze that was suppose to be $2 as per the IG post was $13. I bring the price difference of the Froze to the bartenders attention and she states that the $2 froze is in a smaller cup than what she gave me. How would I know that? I showed her the IG post with specials upon placing my first order. Clearly if it's a Tuesday special and I'm ordering on a Tuesday that's why I'm ordering it. She said she would have to speak to a manager came back and said the manager wouldn't honor the $2 advertised price. I paid my bill and left. To make a social media post to gain patrons.... So this is my second time visiting the establishment. The first time I came I did their Sunday brunch and had steak and eggs. The steak was actually good and cooked to perfection. We also sampled some sides from the regular menu and they were so good that's what made us want to go back. I returned on another Sunday and did the all you can eat seafood boil. It really is a bang for your buck. The food was hot and fresh especially the sides.If it is one thing they know how to do its the sides. My boil itself was simply ok. It was a little too salty for my taste and the crab legs were extremely overcooked and and salty. While it was salty I do not believe this to be a normal occurrence or at least I hope not. In addition the crab legs in the special are smaller than the crab legs from a normal crab leg order. This time around the side that takes the award was hands down the fried rice. I would go back just to order this. The waitstaff is hit and miss. My first time we had a super attentive waitress this time my waitress was very busy as she was the only one and also she was working the bar too. I came here at a friend's request for a birthday dinner. By that point, I had already been to other locations several times. I wish I could say something great this place, but I'd be lying. Seafood restaurants get away mid service and lil decorum simply because they serve seafood. Notice I only posted photos of the drinks. That was just to have something to accompany this review. I wasn't inclined to take pictures of the food; it didn't look or taste appealing. We didn't even take the leftovers home. Everything was overcooked and bland. There was a DJ, I don't remember the music leaving that much of an impression. Places like this don't seem interested in creating enough of a standard experience that would bring customers back. Shaking Crab was a really life of a party type of place!! The staff and service was amazing , and for events to celebrate they really go all out to attend their customers. I recommend to get the best for your buck is arriving at 4-6pm to get their AYCE special as that's a great price for $45. Of course, with that price, there's not much seafood to choose from but it's very filling. Choices they have are snow crab legs, shrimp, mussels , crawfish and clams. You would pay $10 extra if you wanted a lobster tail or crab. I personally thing I was satisfied with the base set as you get a lot of sides like noodles, potatoes and more. One thing I loved were their $5 rum punches as those were strong. The music playing was a great choice but be mindful it can be a bit loud. Also once you pay, there's 18% gratuity included already plus taxes so that will raise your bill higher than expected. This Shaking Crab is more than a seafood spot, it's also a good time! The DJ is always rocking, playing great music and the drinks are delicious. I always order the lemon pepper crab legs because they're always so tasty ($35). I've tried the other flavors, Envie and butter, but the lemon pepper is the perfect balance of salty and tangy that brings out the flavor in the crab meat. I love their passion fruit lemonade and the Mac-n-cheese hits. I will say that for a smaller establishment, the service is a bit slow and you will find yourself waiting a bit to get served and receive your check. However, the waiters are always friendly and I've never experienced bad service. The place is nice spot in the Bronx. I went on a Thursday evening. I was hoping to hear the DJ and listen/ look at karaoke as advertised. None of that happened. The food was good, but the crab legs had a bit of a freezer burn taste. While the waiter was nice he neglected to tell us about happy hour, as I over heard him tell other patrons about. Our waiter was very patient as I was trying to explain the menu options to my parent. Off rip our drinks gave us a great first impression. The lemonades are bomb. We tried one drink believe it was Mai tai really good. If you're not a heavy drinker you'll feel sauced off of one. The food was delicious. Before writing this email I reached out to management directly via email to rectify this situation but nobody has gotten back to me so I need to make others aware of this establishment. I am absolutely appalled by the treatment my boyfriend and I received during our visit to your White Plains Road location on March 23rd around 9:30pm. My experience was beyond disappointing. To start, the hostess who had cornrows and wore them in a bun was downright rude from the moment we stepped in. Despite the fact that the bouncer had already verified my ID, she had the audacity to question whether it was really mine. I am 24 years old, and her behavior was insulting and completely unnecessary. This kind of condescending attitude should never be tolerated in any customer facing role, let alone in a place where people are spending their hard earned money. As if that wasn't bad enough, after we ordered a second round of cocktails, it took an unreasonably long time for them to arrive. Meanwhile, the hookah attendant took over 20 minutes to return our change after we handed him a $100 bill. It was not until I asked our waitress to intervene that we were even given our change back. And when we finally got it, we were $15 short. After complaining, we received an extra $5, but that still left us $10 short no one seemed to care about fixing it until we repeatedly insisted. This entire experience was a mess, and I'm disgusted by the blatant lack of respect and customer service. On entry; the young lady asked me if I was going to drink, I said no, then the security stood so close to the small entry area I had to squeeze by him although he could've moved in to let us in he proceeded to squish pass both my daughter and I. if I can give 0 stars I would . Dine in | Dinner | $20-30 I respectfully tried to handle this with management however I was dismissed ignored and completely pushed away. On Friday 3/28/25, i attended an event at shaking crab with two of my friends. We get in , grab a table and this is where the problems begin. As we sit , eventually a server (who didn't even introduce herself with a gray crunchy bob) came to bring us menus. She takes our order which included spicy calamari, a shrimp basket, loaded fries, and 3 margaritas (two which were in pouches and one glasses). The first red flag was when a completely different serve came to our table with ONE margarita pouch when we order 3 drinks. This serve was completely confused when we told her we order 3 drinks and she looked and said the serve (who originally had our table) didn't put in the order for all 3 drinks. We brush it off because again we were there for an event and didn't make it an issue. The second reg flag was when 1 order of food came out , and again we still are missing 2 drinks. A few minutes later another order comes out . Then shortly after the last order and still 2 drinks are missing. As a restaurant and business, customers shouldn't be served their food before their drinks. Eventually the drinks came and we begin to eat our food. Half way into our meal, the same server who gave us our menu comes back and places the check in the middle of the table. Which had me confused because we were still eating and she never once came back to our table until she brought the check. When she came back to collect the money from the check, one of my friends ask for a to go box. As we look at the check the bill came up to 151.97 with an 18% gratuity. We were all co fused on how a meal that only contained appetizers and drinks could possibly total over a hundred dollars and to add on a tip when the serve did absolutely NOTHING was crazy to me. However we didn't make it a big deal and still paid. Now the problem comes when we had to step outside for a second. We let multiple people in the establishment know that we was stepping out and will be back to the table and food. Not even 10 minutes out, we return to our table taken and food gone. We expressed to everyone including the server how we wasn't finished with our food and it was thrown away. Let's keep in mind my friend asked this same girl for a to go box so why throw our food away. She completely dismissed us and was nowhere to be found for the rest of the night. The next day I was told by someone who does business with this establishment that I can file a complaint directly with the manager and you can see in the text below. I was respect and received no response. So I called and explain the situation, I was told the manager had to talk to the serve to get the story. Which made no sense because I told her the story, it was nothing to go back to get because I expressed many times we wanted our food and we wanted it replaced since we paid over a hundred dollars and it was thrown out. Today 3/30/25, after not hearing back after the first initial call, I called back and spoke with the manager who was pretending she wasn't the manager and was basically told because I was there for an event and told the people who was throwing the event that I was coming back that it didn't matter because they aren't shaking crab staff. I asked to speak with the manager (not knowing that was the manager) and was told the manager wasn't there and they couldn't inform me when she was going to be there. After letting them know I was coming up there to speak with the manager. I was told I wouldn't be allowed back anymore. To ban me because yall threw my food away and all I wanted was it replaced is crazy to me. They literally will scam , rob and take your money. Along with a lot of illegal things that go on that I can really talk about!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! THE SERVERS ARE WACK RUDE UGLY DIRTY AND DISRESPECTFUL! First off, this place seems to be catered more to the "young and mixxy" crowd, which means you'll end up in a cloud of hookah while being served by 20 something year olds. I probably waited 10-15 minutes to be served by a young lady who told me she only came to get my drink order because "it's busy in here". I ordered a virgin pina colada and it was decent...nothing crazy. After a while she came back and placed my order and I ended up getting some fried chicken to stay and the jumbo shaker to go (keep in mind, it's listed as $46.00). So I waited for my food a VERY long time...had to be atleast 20-25 minutes. I got the chicken and the first bite I bit into....the chicken was cold on the inside....when I told my server, she looked annoyed and confused and stated "but it just came out though".....she takes it back and I end up having to wait another 10 minutes. I eat a few and my boil comes out along with my check and I'm ready to go. It's just not my scene. Too loud, too smoky. I review my bill and it comes out to $88 dollars....THEN a whole BUNCH of extra charges making my grand total $111.66 after a "service charge" THEN a $16 "gratuity". NEVER again.
