I know your place will open again, God is able, after a Long trip coming back from Africa I needed some good food to remind me that people can still cook and they were the first place I went to, I tel you they never missed when I went, and I'm looking forward to spend $100 when chef Raquel comes back, that's the chef that will do my wedding I already told God about it! I'm convinced don't tell me nothing she's coming back I will be waiting. read more

Mingles Express Grill - Irie Pasta With Jerk Chicken. - Caribbean Near Me - Bronx, New York

Ordered take out. Delivery was reasonable. Ordered 3 orders of fried chicken. 1 with French fries. 1 with macaroni and cheese. And the last with mashed potatoes. French fries were crispy even being delivered. The mashed potatoes are a filling side that taste like mashed potatoes should. Plus you can tell they add a hint of garlic to it. They do not skimp on this portion. The macaroni and cheese was good but nothing amazing. The fried chicken was good. Light bbq sauce was asked to be added to the chicken and unfortunately they turned them all into bbq chicken. *know their bbq sauce has a slight spicy kick to it *. I appreciated that they tried to fix a problem beforehand because we requested 2 with veg and 1 plantains. apparently they were out of veg so they sent extra plantain to accommodate. However a phone call should have been made instead of assuming that was acceptable. read more

My experience with Mingles was not the greatest. I called in an order on a Friday night for Jerk Salmon, rice and peas, and steamed vegetables. I was told they were out of rice and peas and opted for white rice instead. I get to the restaurant to pay for my order and as I'm waiting I watched the woman pack 2 full containers of rice and peas for another guest. Strike #1. It says on the website that salmon is cooked fresh but I watched the chef take the precooked salmon and place it on the grill for ~3 minutes before boxing it up. Strike #2. I get home to realize there's no steamed vegetables in my box, just a piece of salmon on a bed of rice. Strike #3. I was never told they were out of steamed vegetables or offered another option. Overall I am disappointed in my experience and probably won't be back. ALSO! They promote a $5 off your first order when you download the app yet there is no coupon code and I did not receive an email or anything after signing up. I called to ask how they honor the $5 off and no one working there knew anything about the promotion and said it's through management, who wasn't in at the time. read more

Mingles Express Grill - Salmon Seafood - Jerk - Caribbean Near Me - Bronx, New York

The North Bronx has some of the most amazing Caribbean culinary dives the City has to offer. I have always been a huge fan of any recipe with jerk seasoning whether it's chicken, pork, salmon, shrimp or pasta. One signature menu item and bestseller was the Irie Pasta with Jerk Chicken which is exactly what I ordered... with extra jerk sauce!!!! I may have confused it with Rasta Pasta at first but it's very different; and still just as delicious. For dessert, the red velvet cake...great choice. To stay hydrated, pink lemonade and iced tea...yes, I mean mix them. Super refreshing! I shall be back!!!! read more

I had a great time at Mingles Lounge one Thursday night at karaoke. I ordered wings and the fried whiting. My aunt got the oxtails. The food was delicious. The fish are small whole whiting. I've never had whiting like that. It was so good I had to come by the take out spot before leaving town. Brought my sister with me. The location is clean and modern. The service was friendly as well. Nothing extra but definitely better than most places in New York. We both ordered the fish. She also ordered the oxtails. I was so disappointed with the fish...Now I've been raving about this crispy fish to my husband, my sister and my mom. I think when you take it to go something happens. There are peppers on top so the juice from the peppers along with the closure of the paper simulates a steaming effect.....the fish was soggy. If I had not had it previously I would have given 2 stars. But because I know how good this fish is I only took one star off. There should be a sign up urging people to eat the fish immediately. Now I know. I will return and I will be eating right there. read more

In some cases, the Customer Service experience outweighs the Product. This is tragically one of those cases. The Food: Fresh and Fast; The Ambiance: Small but Clean and Inviting; The Service: Not Consistent and, Most of the Time, Not Friendly. God Forbid the Order is Made incorrectly. In those cases, The Customer is NEVER RIGHT, and they are unwilling to accept Culpability to correct themselves or the mistake. Also, Special Orders or Changes to a menu Item are Allowed but not Welcomed. In other words, Take it or Leave it As Is. read more

The food was SOOOOOO good & fresh. All types of people were there; young, older, queer, straight-- it was really nice. Me & my homegirl went for R&B night. I would recommend booking a table/a section because there's only like 4-6 of them & without that, you'll be sitting at a longggg rectangular table with everyone else... Either THAT or standing by the bar lol read more

Happy hour is a must! The drinks are strong and the wings are amazing! I suggest the rum punch or the bob marley.

The food was great. The wait was rather long , very long , butttttt the food was good . The serving size took me two-three days (or I may just have a small intake). The ambiance in the restaurant is beautiful , modern , and quite sheek. For my plate of sweet and sour shrimp and rice an peas there were artificial pineapples ( my guess, dole) , this tell them to lay off the artificial pineapples , please . read more

I love this establishment. I eat here constantly. Love the food. The food is flavorful and never bland.

Food always in point! PERIODT. Rasta pasta is delicious. Jerk wings, friend shrimp, jerk chicken, and salmon burger are my faves. The rice is well made and the food is always consistent. Great take out place in the Bronx. read more

I started eating from this restaurant (which is located in a strip mall) around August 2021, this review is long overdue (as I'm sitting here eating some leftovers of their Mac n chz ) First thing I tried from this Jamaican restaurant was the jerk salmon burger...omg, sooo good! So far I've had Oxtail, Curry Goat, Shrimp Po Boy (they serve it on coco bread and the shrimp are big, plump, and well seasoned ), Mac & Chz, (I don't usually like West Indian Mac... parents are Jamaican and can COOK so no disrespect lol but theirs is bomb, taste like southern Mac) Escovitch Fish, carrot rummy cake & the red velvet, jack Daniel wings (didn't care for the flavor) I even had their mash...I NEVER buy mash from a restaurant, and that was delicious as well, even w/o gravy. Listen, this place is SOLID. I would give 10 Stars if I could. It's so clean & bright in there too. Customer service is always great even when they're busy. I wish more people would put 1,2...or 5 dollars in the tip jar, even though it's not a dine in restaurant, these ppl are still working hard to "SERVE" us. If you're looking for Delicious Jamaican (and American -wings, burgers, waffle fries, etc) trust me go here, you will not be disappointed! read more

The food 100% The price -10% This is a "to go" place. Not a sit down restaurant.... why am I paying these high costs. I know things went up. But I pass all the time because of the cost. 3 meals is well into the 60s-70s total. Just saying. Why do we do this in our own neighborhood. If you have it spend it. You won't be disappointed with the flavor. *****Do NOT order the large oxtail if you want more oxtail. You only get more rice. read more

The food is excellent. The customer service varies based on who's in the front but I haven't had any bad experiences just some of the ladies are personable than others. They've been closed for a while and I'm hoping it's not a sign that they won't open again because this is my go to spot. There's nothing I've had that wasn't delicious. Hope to order from them again soon! read more

My mom and I wet craving Jamaican food and discovered Mingles on Uber Eats. I ordered the jerk shrimp with rice and peas. It was delicious! It was the prefect amount of spice. My mom ordered the curry chicken and she said it was delicious as well. The food was still hot when we received it. The only issue was we had trouble ordering via Uber eats. The app froze multiple times and made the process more difficult. Not sure if Mingles can reach out to them about that. Regardless the food was delicious and we definitely plan on ordering again! read more

So, I ordered through UberEats and was pleasantly surprised. The food was packaged well and fresh. I ordered the Snapper with veggies, stewed chicken with rice and peas and an irie pasta with fried chicken. Ohhhhh my goodness! The chicken was so darn good. Ughhhh! I can't wait to eat here again. The chicken was moist, crunchy and very flavorful. I kept pinching off the meat. And it came with my favorite piece:a breast! Just delightful and the portion sizes were great. I also tasted the brown stew chicken and that was melting in my mouth. The rice was cooked to perfection as well. read more

I ordered delivery last night and man was I pleasantly surprised. I ordered the jerk salmon with rice and peas, and a kale salad. Not only are the portions a good size but the food was flavorful and fresh! So glad to know there's a solid Caribbean spot in the neighborhood. Will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

Mingles has excellent, flavorful food. I've had a few things from their menu including the stew chicken, steamed veggies, chicken soup and mac and cheese. No complaints about anything. If the food wasn't so pricey, I'd probably order from Mingles at least twice a week. The next items I want to try are the salmon, curry shrimp, rasta pasta, and rummy carrot cake. I may even order today. The food is so damn good. Shout out to Iso who put me on to their amazing cuisine. read more

The Staff is unprofessional, rude, and impatient. They roll their eyes and chuckle in your face after dismissing inquiries on the menu. The food is overrated. They false advertise. I will Never order from this establishment again. There is plenty of tastier competition on the same road. Explore your options before settling for this distasteful experience. read more

Awesome place!! food is always fresh and delicious!! Sometimes you have a wait depending on your meal because it's made to order!! Yummy!!

Wow, Mingles Express Grill was certainly wonderful. They are much cheaper than the competition. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and really tasty. But I'll really emphasize that I've never had better customer service anywhere else. I can recommend that place enough, it's so relaxing and amazing vibes. read more

Got some steamed fish and mashed potato for myself the food was fresh (which is very important) and steaming hot it's tasty and filling. I got a salad for my brother which he also enjoyed. I order from Ubereats often as well as in person. The food is delish. I don't know what they put in their white rice but it has a mild coconut flavor and order it more than the rice and peas. The rice and peas is so good that I don't need any gravy. I usually order it with curry chicken or sweet and sour chicken. I like the veggies they add and it gives it a different twist than the other Caribbean restaurants in the area. My only con was the service. The cashier and the lady preparing the food were very nice but there was a long wait. That may have been due to another customer disputing her bill. Other than that, I highly recommend Mingles Express. read more

Just ordered my first pick-up & the food was FREAKIN DELICIOUS! I got curry chicken/white rice, oxtails/rice&peas, sweet plantains, mac & cheese & bammy. I can't even tell you which was my favorite cause it was all SO GOOD!!! Flavors are on point!!! Chicken & oxtails were nice & tender. Can't wait to place my next order!! P.S I called ahead & my food was ready as soon as my husband walked in for pick-up. Thank you Mingles!! read more

I literally just finished eating the food I ordered. I had to leave a review right away because that's how good the food was. I am by no means exaggerating but this was the best fried chicken I've ever had in my entire life - it is an absolute must have if you're ordering from here. My order also came with fried sweet plantains and mac and cheese *chefs kiss* - so good! I will most definitely be ordering from this place again. I may try their irie pasta and red velvet cake next! read more

Horrible experience. Unprofessional staff. Small portions overpriced. False advertisement about $5 off coupon on app promotion banner in the store and that no one seems to have a clue about where it is and why it's not working or showing up on the app for my first order. read more

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this place, but it was surprisingly good. The oxtail, brown stewed chicken, and rice and peas were solid. The IRIE pasta was OK....it has a creamy sauce with a little bit of jerk flavor; well seasoned and probably a safe choice for kids who are not overly sensitive to spice. But the standouts were the steamed snapper and the curry goat. If you're from the area and are familiar with the steamed snapper they used to have at Country Kitchen down the road (it's not there anymore), it's the closest to what they served there. I got it with steamed veggies, but I wished I got it with rice so it could soak up all of the glorious flavor of the broth that is created by steaming the fish with the pumpkin and okra, etc. The snapper tasted fresh and we had to race our kiddo who devoured every piece I put on her plate. The curry goat is the closest to what I had in Jamaica, except it doesn't burn a whole in your stomach. It is sufficiently spiced but not overpowering and the gravy is thick. Be careful if you are eating this at home because the curry will stain everything. I love that I can order ahead through GrubHub...especially since the fish takes 20 mins. We'll be back. read more

So far I've tried the rasta pasta and sweet and sour chicken with tostones. Both great dishes. definitely a new go to in the area!

So me and my parents went here yesterday. I got fired chicken and both my parents got rasta pasta with shrimp and salmon. My food was sooo good and my parents said they were very satisfied. I'm definitely coming back! read more

Place is clean and spacious but I've ordered many times and the irie pasta is always cold. When they first opened it was piping hot, I could see the chef freshly making it, but the wait was long. Now it's the complete opposite, I guess to keep up with demand but so it's unappetizing. Also the fried chicken is too salty. Love the fountain ice tea and lemonade. read more

Super amazingthe fried chicken, rasta pasta was so delicious. Definetly the best jamaican food in the bronx, with authentic flavors
