The food is a home cooked meal. The service is pleasant and great. I would recommend it for sure.

To be honest you really cannot go based off what people say because they will deter you from getting good food. I didn't know that this spot is legitimately on the go type of spot. You have to call to make an order or you can go to the spot to make the order but you cannot actually go inside of the place. I guess its fine but if it's cold or you are not really familiar with the area it's really not the best place to hang around unless you have a car and you can just wait. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it did not disappoint. The shrimp was fresh. The grits was nice creamy nice texture not watery at all nice and buttery so I'm not understanding how come there was so many negative comments. To be honest with you I really don't play around with my food as food is so expensive now but please don't let the negative comments deter you. The food was really good in my opinion. read more

I've been going to Jimmy's On The Go for some years now. Even with the staffing changes, I remained a customer. Over the weekend my family and I visited the restaurant for some breakfast. One word...DISGUSTING!! I ordered homefries and grilled shrimp. The potatoes they used had to be old and had a foul smell that I couldn't stomach!! Fish and grits are my fave. Grilled or fried, the seafood is bomb. You can legit order red or blue Kool-Aid and your request is well received. Went here for breakfast after a night of partying. I was not disappointed. We called our orders in so it was ready when we went to pick up. It was pretty crowded and it's only a bar area to sit and eat your breakfast. A few tables in the front by the window but definitely not big enough for a huge party, unless you get there when they open and take up the bar area. We ordered shrimp and cheese grits, 2 bacon eggs and homefries And a side order of corn beef hash And 3 orders of half and half (lemonade and ice tea) The customer service here is okay. It's a black owned establishment. The customer service can improve, but it's not the worst. You're greeted when you walk in. It looks like a family owned business, and it's always busy so it wasn't the worst. Just not the best. All in all, i would recommend this place for breakfast (that's all i ever had here) but my sister lives around here so they come here faithfully. (Every weekend) they love it. The portion sizes were huge. Be careful that you don't eat and have somewhere to go after. This is definitely a heavy meal that can put you to sleep if you're being lazy. The best part also, they have an A on the window. Best thing to see walking in the morning. The only reason they i gave them 4 stars is because the customer service can improve. read more

I always heard about this place via my friend's and associates on social media, I always stated to my self that the food looks good . I recently started interning near by and was devastated about the lack of food choices nearby . I one day googled spots and this spot showed up . Ultimately I decided to try them out . It did not disappoint . The first time I went, I was unaware that you must order and then wait outside. Moreover, this prepared for the next time . I ordered prior to going. You are called when your food is ready to pickup . The lady who placed my orders is very nice . (She was the person both times I ordered). The first time I ordered salmon cakes and scrambled eggs with toast. The second time I ordered salmon cake, sunny side up styled eggs , home fries and toast.... Both times I ordered a tropical punchKool aid . Everything was good , however The salmon cake and home fries just wow . The Kool aid was very good as well . One word...delicious! A friend suggested this place and I'm so glad he did! I had shrimp and fish -both grilled- while he had grits, eggs and shrimp. Needless to say, we were both beyond satisfied. Everything was well seasoned, not greasy and reasonably priced. You can't ask for much more than that. Beware! They close @ 3pm! This place is so worth it. Get there and get your grub on! read more

The best breakfast place in the Bronx hands down the salmon cakes & cheese grits are lifeeeeee!!! The shrimp are good too but my go to are the salmon cakes the home fries are yummy well seasoned; they make some of the best kool aid ever and have endless flavors. Let me say i love my borough!!! Jimmy's on the Go is a little hole in the wall but it fills up pretty quick. We had ordered the seafood combo (which you can get grilled or fried which comes with fish and shrimps) w waffles and cheese grits. Boy them waffles were good. Buttery and everything nice. Grits were creamy and delish. Shrimps and fish had the right amount of seasoning and shrimps were big, not small and shriveled up like u get in most places. The food is exactly what you'd get if you go to your grandmas for breakfast. Very much home style of everything. Nice buttery pancakes, waffles and French toast. The seafood is delicious and everything doesn't taste as of it was seasoned the same. It's a very small space with about 8-9 high chair seating at the high top counter and a small table for 2 to sit on the side. It's ideal for takeout for that reason but if you can get a seat, then you're in luck. The drinks are so good, I always get the Kool-aid which isn't too sweet nor not sweet enough. It's perfect. Again, it's very much home style food, not your typical diner style (pancakes cooked in oil and dry) food. I love it here!! read more

I ordered salmon cake (very big, size of a pancake) it was pretty good, grits (wasn't nothing to be excited about I had better), cheese eggs (they were really tasty to me lol)... Oh yeah and Cherry Kool Aid it was awesome, better than mines at home lol. If I wanted those stuff I could've went to supermarket and made it myself. I visited this restaurant after seeing a social media post from a former neighbor of its existence. This restaurant is owned by the son of Jimmy's Luncheonette, which was on Clay Ave & 169th Street for years. I ordered shrimp and grits for myself and a fried fish sandwich for my mother. The food was really good. I see that some of the menu items harken back to my youth. I will be going back really soon! read more
