Adorable little tapas place tucked in between some of the better known Arthur Ave restaurants. This is a very, very small little restaurant but with the couple of tables outside and the front open it felt more spacious. We were in the area to see an exhibit at the NYBG and stumbled upon this place trying to find something in the area that was not pizza! What a great find. This cozy little place is family owned and operated. Service could not have been any better! We weren't looking for big meals so we stuck with a few options from the tapas menu. They do have entrees too. Prices were reasonable for the size of the dishes and food was all tasty! They also have a full bar and hookahs on certain nights. Definitely will be back when we're in the area again. Although parking on Arthur Ave is hit or miss street parking in the immediate area is easy to find. Stopped here before dinner for a drink. There were 6 of us but despite it being a small place and a Saturday night, there was plenty of space for us. We ordered drinks immediately (5 mojitos and a water), the server was very nice. However, it took about 25 minutes for us to get our drinks- including the water. The only other customers there was one couple who had already been served, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. My drinks were good, but one person mentioned that their drink had very little ice and was pretty lukewarm. read more

The place is pretty small and we decided to grab the table outside. The best item we got of all of our options were the calamari with the glaze. The wings tasted like frozen wings and my burger which was suppose to be medium well was hard as a rock. The lemonade mojito was sweet which is what I like but maybe not for everyone else. read more

Really loved happy hour here. Smoked my first hookah. Prices were great. Service was friendly and the company was amazing. Would go back!

My experience at this place was disappointing considering the previous 4 and 5 Star reviews. The grilled octopus didn't taste very good. The lobster ravioli was okay but nothing special. The ravioli reminded me of something I could purchase at the grocery store. Plus two people at the table received their rigatoni extremely late. They apologized for the kitchen mix up after everyone else's food was served and the other two meals came out at least 30 minutes later. They only comped us for 1 of the 2 dishes that came out late. Honestly I feel like calling this place a tapas restaurant is only an excuse to overcharge for mediocre/undersized appetizers. read more

Tapas Italiano is definitely quite awesome. We couldn't believe how cheap this place was. I have ordered several dishes off the menu, and all of them were terrific, especially Felix. Overall great food for a fair price and awesome service, family owned SMALL bar ran out of what I assume to be someone's home ? It has one table for outdoor seating and hookah inside.. so why only three stars ? Not because of how small the bar is; you could fit 2 small families in there .. but because a little girl walked in on me in the bathroom from another door to what I can only assume is attached to a bedroom..Thank god I'm a women and was only washing my hands, but I'll be honest ... that REALLY turned me off. This place was great! I went for the first time on my birthday a few days ago and had a great time...the customer service, food and atmosphere was on POINT. Amazing find!!!!! Walking down Arthur Ave. ravenous and thank goodness I stumbled across this little slice of heaven. The tapas is like none other, fresh, original and delicious. They also have real homestyle Italian dishes that remind me of Nonna's cooking. In addition they have a wide selection of beers and scrumptious deserts. Ive heard so much about Little Italy in the Bronx and i have finally arrived. Samantha is friendly and personable however, you can tell she is not a skilled bartender. She has lots of potential but being a nightlife connoisseur its easy to see the skills Samantha lacks. I also met the owners son Felix. Very professional and a great smile but lacks the personality and energy. This place is very empty for this type of community. Would love to consult but the way it looks they wont be able to afford it. This place can take over little italy. I wish them alot of success. I will be returning!!! read more

Wonderful and laid-back atmosphere. Tapas Italiano is much more intimate than many other establishments in the Arthur Ave area and stands out for that reason. Kasey, the server, was quick and incredibly attentive. We ordered many items but the fried ravioli was of a particularly high caliber followed closely by the sliders. No offense meant to the business I know nowadays it isn't easy to remain open but the food they serve is plain and simple not good. The sauce tastes like it came out of a package. Cmon for Arthur Avenue? Everything we had was over cooked. Grilled chicken parm, nice presentation, no salad with the entree I'm pretty sure the menu lists a salad. Service was fine, but you're spending upwards of 50$ on a meal food has to be good bottom line...Over cooked pasta and mussels, grilled octopus looked great but was way rubbery. Hope it gets better soon...and listen let's call it what it is, there's people saying "it reminds me of nonnas Italian blah blah here?!!!!??" If you think that then you're "nonna" couldn't cook sorry to bear the bad news. Maybe it should be just promoted as a happy hour bar spot and not offer food. read more
