Briciola Harlem - Chicken Parmigiana, homemade pasta . Sauce is light and delicious - Pizza Near Me - New York, New York

We came here to get some pizza on a Saturday around 5p. The place has about 20 seats, so I bet it's packed during peak hours. We sat at the bar and the service was friendly and helpful. We got the Diavola, Porchetta, and Salsiccia Pepperoni and Onions. All pizzas were very good and rich with their toppings. The dough could have been more firm, as it dropped when grabbing a slice (hence the 4 stars), especially in the pizzas with tomato sauce (the Porchetta pizza was fine, because of being lighter I guess). Overall, $16 fixed price for ANY pizza you order is a steal. I can't think of any place that still offers this price for pies other than a Margherita. We will return! read more

Plating tricks are the ugly truth about kitchens. The more they're practiced the more your food will be a facsimile of cooked cuisine and simply pre-prepped food instead. The contorni here are just that. It says roasted but the beets aren't, they're boiled and precooked and chopped at that from a plastic bag. No effort was made to make them taste any different than that either. The broccoli was similarly boiled and well, that's what they do in England but this is a restaurant calling itself Italian. The garlic was burnt and the boiled broccoli was smeared in vegetable oil -olive oil or butter would have been the possibilities for the pan but this broccoli was never in a pan. The lasagna which is normally a winner leaked a lot of water into a puddle on the plate and that happens when it's frozen but not fully thawed and reheat din a hot enough oven. The Riesling was a bit sour but the some of the others are undrinkable. A quar which in Europe would be 2 and a half glasses in a little pitcher is 1 and a third glasses in a curious tiny vase, so order two individual glasses because there are no savings on offer. Which is odd as wine is an inflation anomaly - a decent bottle runs 12 to 20 dollars at a wine store and did 20 years ago too. For the prices these cheap wines are very bad value though some of the reds are less disastrous. The pizza is great and I have no complaints about it but the word is out and the delivery guys are humming at the door through diner bumping into the back of your chair in a small huddle if as we were you are seated there. It's a descent going down at this nice little place. It is a bar that serves decent snacks, but can microwaving and shrinkfaltion be far off? One suspects not, unless they hire some sous chefs who took a 12 week course at a culinary school - but they won't. There's no chef here. read more

This is a local gem that is well worth the trek uptown. My Florentine friend, who just moved to NYC, recommended it and I was very impressed. He even spoke with the servers to study the wine selection before he chose one for us. The pizzas were considerably big for personal pie and I was happy. I got the diavola and my friend got the vongole. They also do gluten-free pizzas! *Make sure you leave space for dessert. We had the creme brulee and it was perfection! I think they have another restaurant in midtown, but I liked how cozy this one was. It was a warm and cozy spot for a winter's eve. read more

Delicious! So unexpected. This location has been open for a while and I walked by it many times and finally stopped in. Previously this location had another restaurant that left a very bad taste in my mouth but today all that changed. Sara and Massimo you are both amazing, we feel so welcomed and you are so attentive. I have returned numerous times with a Friend or my family, and the food never disappoints. I love their pastas, all the appetizers, the shank and their hospitality. We will continue visiting this establishment as long as they are around. Excellent! read more

Not good for large parties because they only have two seater tables and a bar. Food was good and menu Options were good. Large portions. Disappointed they didn't have cheese to put on the pasta. Also at 7pm they turned all the lights off which was weird. read more

This spot may be small, but it definitely holds its own evident from how busy it usually gets in the evenings. Luckily, we came by on an especially hot summer day and had no trouble grabbing a table. Our waitress was super friendly and walked us through the menu and specials. We went with the tuna tartare, the goat cheese and mango salad, and the Rigatoni e Gamberi. The salad was delicious the goat cheese was coated in crispy breadcrumbs, adding great texture. The tuna tartare was incredibly fresh, though I personally would've liked a bit more flavor. As for the pasta, the tomato sauce was tasty, but the shrimp seemed slightly overcooked and not grilled. Still, I'd definitely come back, I really appreciated the freshness of the ingredients and the fact that all the pastas are priced similarly. read more

Incredibly delicious. This place is special. Daniel at Codino was extremely helpful and made our dining experience a complete joy. He also went out of his way to get us exactly what we wanted. The restaurant itself had a warm cozy atmosphere and very well lit. Codino and Briciola Harlem is not your typical Italian restaurant. Thank you Jacklyn for your outstanding service as well. You were kind, genuine and honest. I highly recommend both restaurants. Take care and eat well read more

Such A cute little spot right on 145th. Food was great especially the pizza. The mussels were ok. But the pizza was perfect and their wine selection is good they have so many to choose from esp silly considering the size of this little spot. Nice low lighting and open late. Service was great and quick nice and easy. Totally will be back. Want to try the calamari and the other pizzas for sure read more

Briciola is tiny but super cute and cozy on 45th. Cocktails were made really well and the menu had so many great options that our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs. Everything we ordered was delicious -- the mussels were perfect for sharing and the mains were packed with flavor. Service was friendly, the vibe was relaxed but lively, and it's the kind of spot you want to come back to so you can try more of the menu. Highly recommend for a casual date night or night out with friends. read more

This is my favorite small neighborhood spot. The food is always delicious and their wine choices are very nice. Plus the service is great! It's right off 145th so there could be a little road noise, but it's never bothered me or our conversation. I highly recommend! Honestly, I've never been disappointed. read more

EXCELLENT Italian in Harlem! Server was lovely and she was obviously well loved by all the customers and regulars. The mango salad and truffle gnocchi was incredible. The interior was absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely recommend. read more

Really nice and cute place! The restaurant is really small and most tables are for groups of 2 - so if you have a larger party you will be placed on a shared table with barstools. The host was really friendly and we had a nice experience. For apps, we got the goat cheese with herbs and this was my absolute favorite. it comes with some bread and has the cheese immersed in tomato sauce. Really yum! For mains, we got the fettuccine with mushrooms and I wasn't a huge fan of this - I found it a little bland. We also got one of their specials - which was pasta in pesto sauce with burrata and sun dried tomatoes and this was really good. For dessert we got the chocolate souffle which comes with a scoop of ice cream and some berries. It was really good and would definitely recommend! read more

This place gave us food poisoning!! Warning. *****Update: The restaurant promised a refund over the phone (1/6) and has since avoided contact, repeatedly stating the manager is unavailable and refusing to give me a name of whomever I'm speaking to. No refund has been issued. We ordered food from here for new years eve since most places were closed and we'd read good reviews. Perhaps that was a mistake, but we didn't think a holiday evening would mean decrease in food quality. Terrible idea. The driver just left our food on the floor, we didn't even know if was delivered until I got a notification on my phone. Ordered 2 pasta's and 2 pizza's. All received cold. One of the pasta's had literal water and what looked like dirt in it. The bolognese seemed okay but the sauce had a slight rancid/sour taste to it. The toppings on the pizza's were just thrown on vs cooked with it. I'm not sure which dish the culprit was, but all four off us couldn't stop shitting ourselves starting the following morning. It's been 5 days now and I've just now started to feel a little better. Called to speak to the manager that very next day - a guy said he'd have him call me back. (nothing!) Called again now - was told to call tmw before 4pm. Really dissapointing experience, from food, to the delivery, to customer service. Horrible. read more

Carbs on carbs equal curves on curves, and this pasta is worth those extra stairs and hours at the gym. I'm so basic I can't tear myself away from the spaghetti and meatballs, but it's also just so good that I don't let them take that hot crusty bread away until I've gathered every last bit of garlicky tomato stain from the plate. I need to go with more friends for lunch so we can all get $21 wine and pasta specials so I can sample them all. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I am shocked! I have been ordering no from this place for the longest time and I clearly expected the customer service to match the food I enjoy from here but, boy was I wrong! BE CAREFUL with their daily specials. They always have a buy 1 get 1 free special on Uber eats, which I usually order a couple of times a month. Today I was near the area so I picked up my order in person instead of having it delivered. When the girl at the bar hands me my order, I quickly realize there's an item missing. They only gave me 1 pasta. When I try to find her to let her know, she's literally seating and eating at the bar as the restaurant is open and there are clients in the restaurant. I let her know that there is a pasta missing; I explained to her that I ordered the 2 for 1 and I showed her. She said there was probably a mistake on the order because it said there was only one ordered. I explain to her, yet again, that I ordered the 2 for 1 and that I can understand that mistakes happen and I said: "I don't mind waiting" and processed to ask if they can make the other one. She literally SAID NO! She said it's not her, it's the guys in the kitchen and that she knows they're not going to make it. I was taken aback by her answer and lack of care, but then asked her if she can please at least ask the staff to make the other one. She literally said "I'll ask but they're going to say no". She proceeded to go to the kitchen to tell them what happened in Spanish not realizing that I can understand and comes back in less than a second to say NO! Again I paid for the 2 for 1! I understand mistakes can happen, I don't mind waiting, I ask for the missing item paid for and they refuse to make it! I am at a loss for words, clueless on what to do and don't even know how to feel about this place that I was so looking forward to visit and enjoy in person one day. I've never experienced such TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, specially at a restaurant! Be Better! If you can't live up to the set expectations, don't set them! But please, don't gaslight your clients and don't play with their money! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's cozy and warm, and the food feels like a warm hug. The pizza is always fresh and the flavor combinations/toppings are so good. I implore you to try every variety of pizza they have... I know I'm trying to work my way through it all. The service is great as well, especially for delivery. I called one time to customize an appetizer order, and they accommodated when they really didn't have to... I appreciate the flexibility. I have heard their gluten free options are also fresh and tasty as well, so this place is definitely a winner in my book. read more

I'm giving this restaurant a 10/10!!! I have yet to go in person so I will need to update this review later. We ordered from here TO Go and I just can't get over the packaging. Let's get into it! The packaging for the food was done with a lot of intention. They really acted like they were plating this food on an actual plate. The salad was so fresh and crunchy. The homemade salad dressing and the care they put into ensuring that each tomato was perfect. These are the kinds of experience i adore. The ambience looked really nice at the spot. Unfortunately i was too tired and couldn't make my way inside but I will definitely come back. Let's get into the food. I had the fussili mushroom pasta and I am just truly in love with how natural they made the sauce. You can tell that everything was made fresh and the food was still warm when u got home to eat it. I'm telling y'all this a gem serving some good food. There's love here. Im not done yet. The freshly made bread really was the icing on the cake. Like COMEON. I don't know how it arrived still warm. It's the little details. No one likes cold bread anymore, having a freshly baked bread as part of my order was everything!!!Mushroom Fettuccine read more

I live by this place but have been waking past it for five weeks apparently After a tough day day at work I finally decided to stop by!!! I wasn't planning on getting food but $14 for a gluten free pizzza !!!??? It was much bigger than I expected. And they don't surcharge for gluten free!!!! The first wine I ordered was a red and they were out. Instead I got the Gavi! It was very good and paired well with the Blanca pizza. The music was so fun but def a strange mix of 80s and Fleetwood Mac. It's kinda fun out everything outside can be heard inside too lol It's such a tiny place! I'm amazed at how they layed everything out. The service was slow but also super fun to banter with lol. A little sassy but so was I I learned it's a chain and not actually a small business :( which is why I deducted at least one star read more

I've ordered takeout from here a number of times. I usually pick up. Excellent Pizza: the four cheese and the mushroom are great. Spaghetti and meat balls is also very good and the Lasagna, which is not on the menu, is absolutely delicious. Salads and dressing are also top notch.
