Made a reservation for a Saturday night and to our surprise it was super slow. Their next seating wasn't until we left the restaurant. The waitress was attentive to the least amount and unfortunately messed up our order. My partner had asked for shrimp along with his pasta dish which she had forgotten and dropped at our table later afterward. We had seen the dessert being brought from outside, possibly from the basement uncovered on a lid. Unfortunately they didn't have any moscato but the Riesling was so tasty. Our pastas were hot and fresh. My partner dish was found with a really sandy clam unfortunately which wasn't appealing. Aside from that our waitress who did manage the whole dining room like a champ, was seen sitting down multiple times with another table. Make your next night out at Crispin's. I came here on a Friday night on a fluke because it was raining and got sangria to pass the storm. It quickly turned into wine, free bread, and the best pappardelle bolognese I've had (and priced so well at $18 for fresh pasta). The owner was so great, and I genuinely hope his business succeeds as much as he was so nice to me. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Great local spot for Italian food with nice staff. It wasn't very busy on a Thursday night, which was ideal for a nice quiet evening. My favorite dish by far was the carbonara, which was very creamy and came out piping hot. The mussels were good--I loved the broth but with the mussels themselves were a bit bigger. The pork chop was good as well, especially around the fatty areas, but still a little dry in the middle. The price is also very affordable which really makes this a great value restaurant for me. read more

Handsome portion!), Caesar, burrata salad, lamb ragu pasta (so rich and decadent!) and the flame cooked branzino (amazing char, and still really moist). Wow what an amazing local spot! Veggie traveler: Don't be confused by the name. Crispin's is a local neighborhood restaurant In Harlem. We visited on Halloween and enjoyed fabulous service and excellent dishes. This is a lovely place but no customers. I think it may be too high priced for Amsterdam and West 149th st. Well we went in at 12 to brunch....no other customers...the waiter was great but no cook was there....so we had to wait. the last time this happened I got potatoes that were left over from the previous nights meals. Very old tasting. The chef arrived and I ordered the Avocado toast....so spicy that I couldn't finish it. What is up with the food. The chef shows up after the guests.....what's going on. read more

I visited this establishment twice, and both times, I was very disappointed. The first time, I ordered a burger, but when I got home, I realized it was completely raw. I had to recook it myself, but since I live too far away to return, this was extremely frustrating. The second time, I came to order pasta and waited 35 minutes before the waitress finally informed me that the chef hadn't arrived yet. Where are the communication skills? After 10-15 minutes, it should have been clear that the chef wasn't there--why not let customers know sooner? As a result, I wasted 35 minutes, my lunch break was over, and I was still hungry. I seldom write negative reviews about restaurants, but this experience warranted one. Our group of seven gathered for brunch on Saturday, January 18, with a reservation at 1:30 PM. I started with avocado toast, only to be informed that there were no ripe avocados available. Another guest ordered a hamburger, but that too was unavailable. I then opted for Eggs Benedict, which arrived without hollandaise sauce and was served on a cinnamon-raisin English muffin--a combination I found unappealing. Another Eggs Benedict order came with Canadian bacon instead of the advertised salmon. One diner chose a vegetable panini, which was only partially heated, leaving the cheese unmelted. The pancakes were two thick, six-inch discs with a tough exterior and a burnt bottom. The mixed berries were just strawberries, which, while not a major issue, was still frustrating. The chicken Caesar salad featured very thin and dry chicken breast. You might wonder why we didn't send anything back. We placed our order at 1:45 PM, and the restaurant was empty. We were celebrating a friend's arrival in the U.S. this week and had plenty to discuss. Unfortunately, part of our orders didn't arrive until 2:45 PM, with the remainder coming at 3:00 PM. One member of our group had to leave for another appointment at that point, and we all just wanted to escape. Overall, it was a significant disappointment. read more

It was cold. They left the door propped open though, because the kitchen staff liked heading out front to vape, with frequency. Inevitably, they will exhale as they pass your table. There was a child who appeared to belong to one of the staff who was roaming the room and occasionally screaming about something. There was no effort to console him or even give him a sush. We visited for brunch and the portion of prosciutto was generous and egg benedict was great too. We were quite impressed that went for dinner soon after. We had homemade bucatini and octopus with appetizers. Everything was really excellent, very authentic, atmosphere is very nice too for reasonable price. Fresh pastas, generously portioned entrees include an expertly executed chicken parm, as well as a succulent lamb shank, many fish options and more.
