5 stars all around. VPho and Pizzeria was such a pleasant surprise--everything hit. The pho was rich and comforting, the traditional banh mi had that perfect balance of crispy bread and flavorful fillings, and the tamarind snails were a standout--sweet, tangy, and super addictive. Washed it all down with fresh sugar cane juice. Highly recommend. Haven't gotten the pizza but I hear good things about that too!

Very good Authentic Vietnamese noodles. Soup is hot, pepper is super spicy. Pizza looks good too.

Sugarcane juice, half drank already. So good!

A friend recommended this place. We dined in and you know the place is legit when there are Vietnamese families eating at the nearby tables. We were a group of 6 and we ordered various dishes such as the periwinkle snails, the pho, BBH, bánh mi sandwich, spring rolls, and summer rolls. Everybody was pretty satisfied with their dishes. People were split in opinions on the snails and the summer rolls though. The sugarcane juice was AMAZING. I wish they bottled this up and sold it by the gallon so I can bring it home! It's fresh sugarcane juice and I think they add something citrus to it to really elevate the flavor. The staff there is so nice and friendly. They joked around with us a few times and they were also friendly to the delivery guys who kept coming in and out. One delivery guy who probably frequents their place even ordered a sugarcane juice to go. He knew what's good!

Decided to give this place a try I love to have fries with any meal.I was hopping the pizzeria had fries to go with my Bánh Mi. The place isn't huge small but they have a great Vietnamese menu. I didn't see fries on the menu but I asked the guy at the counter and he said he definitely had fries. We went with the Grilled BBQ Chicken + Grilled BBQ Pork Bánh Mi and they were so good. The bread was perfectly toasted and the BBQ sauce was perfect. Of course the fries were A+ I am not really a PHO person but we did see several people ordering the PHO so it must be good!

For a small joint in the Bronx this easy really good! Staff was super friendly, great sense of humor, and really homey. It kind of felt they knew a lot of ppl walking in. Pho cannot be compared to Houston but still in nyc, pretty good. The brisket is better than the rare beef. Noodles are the right texture. Broth is good. Their peppers are spicy. Pho sandwich isn't sunny and Annie's but still pretty good. I did wish they gave me some pickled radish but I think it was still a good sandwich. Pizza looked good but didn't get a chance to try. Def encourage others to try this place.

Stumbled upon this spot and am pleasantly surprised! Walked in and immediately noticed the food serving sizes on other tables are huge. The banh mi is no exception. However, I wish the sandwich is less dry. This restaurant uses more of a sweet roll vs the typical baguette, so I did miss that signature banh mi crunch and chew. The true star of the show is the snails though. Random order but after seeing passion fruit butter listed in the ingredients, I had to try. Love the sauce. It's a heavy but so satisfying flavor. Comes with a side for bread to dip as well. Really enjoyed my sugar cane drink as well. Refreshing and bright.

Went to this hybrid Vietnamese and pizza shop, had a chicken slice which was good. The star of my meal was the pho. Had the beef and it was so flavorful. Dipped the lemongrass on there and went to town. Such a good meal on a cold day man, it wasn't super brick outside, but it was chilly. Great meal and the staff is mad cool.

The vietnamese iced coffee was very authentic. It was made on the spot even though I ordered on the phone. It is potent and authentic tasting. The banh mi is a decent size. Banh mi dac biet has ham and pate. The bread was fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was great and I will definitely be returning for more. There were also Vietnamese customers here so pretty authentic.

The banh mi is awesome

Great banh mi, the bread the the perfect consistency of freshness, flakiness, and toasted to perfection. And a lot of filling. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is also phenomenal with strong notes of salty caramel.

I do not play about my Pho! So when I saw a Pho AND a pizza shop all in one I was like Oh, hell no. LOL. But of course, I start my research and see what the people say. I look through pics trying to psychically connect to authenticity. You know. I don't play about my Pho. I ordered for my first time and boom. Impressed. I ordered the Pho with rare beef, pork boa buns. Delicious and packaged well. Toppings were a bit cilantro heavy for me but I'm a big girl with patience and I will pick that ish out if I don't want it. It was so good that for my birthday lunch, I ordered again. This time getting a Thai tea, Summer roll with grilled beef instead of shrimp and fish sauce, and Pho with rare beef and beef flank. Man, listen. They did that! The rolls were huge, 2 for $8 they were delicious and fresh. My daughter loved it as well. Paired with the fish sauce it was absolutely delicious. Unexpected. The thai tea came un-mixed and baby, I like that. Show me it's real! This pho was even better then the first one. I forgot to say light on cilantro but this one was less cilantro heavy. The flank gave it a slight fattiness that added to the depth of the broth and paired well with the raw onion too. Became my preferred pho quickly. The toppings were bagged this time but still fresh. Price point is fair and it is filling for a regular belly. Bigger eaters should order extra noodle. I wish I had taken pictures of my second order but chile I was starving by the time it came. I will eventually try their pizza as well. But guys, I'm scared. What if they do that really good too???

Dakota's on the Cove has been in my periphery for a while. Up until today, I had not been here…read moresince the space was its former occupant, Ice House. While I had heard mixed things about Dakota's, I wanted to check it out for myself. I had been meaning to catch up with some of my IRL Yelp friends, and thought this would be a great place to meet up - so off we went. Dakota's is located right on the water in Throgg's Neck and provides great views of the marina. The dining area is separated into a front room, bar area, back room, outdoor patio, and a biergarten area. The decor and aesthetics have a nautical vibe - think blues, greys, and whites with lots of clean lines. One of my friends told me that the menu is relatively new, as they got a new chef ~ 2 weeks ago. The menu isn't large, in fact it's somewhat limited in my view; there are a few apps, mains, and sides - but I would like to have seen an expanded salad selection (there are only two on the menu) and a sandwich section, especially given the aesthetics and the fact that they're open for lunch. We decided to start by sharing some apps and one of their salads: the tuna tartare, the mussels, and the specific salad name escapes me but it had feta whip. Everything was very good - the tuna was fresh and came with some thin crostini that provided a welcome contrast in texture. The salad was flavorful, but the portion was small for the price and the combination of feta whip with the dressing made it a little too wet. The mussels were great - we chose to have them prepared in a white wine sauce which was super flavorful. It came with two pieces of focaccia which were good albeit slightly stale; crostini would have been better. For mains, we split two: the fish and chips and the linguine with clam sauce. The former was pretty good - two generous pieces of fish, but it could have used more fries; the apple slaw it was served with cut through the heaviness of the dish well. The linguini was also good, however it's hard for me to justify a pasta dish being over $30 - especially in this case where there were relatively few clams and the portion was not big. We also ordered a side of broccoli rabe which was good - though the addition of some garlic bulbs/slices would have elevated it. For desert we split the lemon gelée abd biscoff cheesecake. I wasn't a fan of the former, it had a tough-ish consistency and lacked flavor; the cheesecake was better. Service was excellent; we made conversation with several members of staff while we were there - including the owner. They are really putting an effort in to make this place great and I saw it in all aspects of my experience. Overall, I had a great time at Dakota's; I think they still need to fine-tune their menu, especially in relation to portion sizes and prices. However, if this is an improvement from where they were, then they're taking a step in the right direction.

So, this one was a real doozy of a visit. The drinks were fair, with our order being a Goose Island…read moreIPA, Long Island iced tea, and a pomegranate martini. The service and food, on the other hand, were quite a mixed bag. We ordered a margherita pizza, pancake tacos, steak and eggs, and French toast with a side of sausage--the pizza, at least, was good. However, the "French toast" was more like an anemic panini press trying to pass as French toast. The steak and eggs comprised of a fairly well-cooked (that is, it was the right temperature) yet underseasoned steak of a relatively dubious cut, underseasoned home fries, and eggs done wrong (sunny side instead of over easy). The lattermost was the start of the problem, as I was willing to give it a shot, but found the texture off-putting. In light of this, I brought the problem to our server Adalia, who brought it to her manager Elvia. Thankfully I had someone else with me to tell me what happened: Elvia came over without addressing me on their error, silently took a look at my plate and instructed Adalia to have the kitchen put the eggs back on the fire. She takes my plate to extract the eggs, and brings them back (unsurprisingly) completely overdone, first in Elvia's hands, then in Adalia's for her to serve; we send for a refire, and they come back correct 7 minutes or so after I've already finished eating. Considering the hassle it took to get them, I couldn't trust it enough to eat, leading them to waste as well. After all was said and done, the GM Amer comes over to see how things were, and was thankfully helpful and understanding of our situation. Here's the rub: I was initially willing to overlook the steak, the home fries, and even the eggs if the error was properly ameliorated. Adalia and Amer both did very well, and I'm grateful for them for that; Elvia, on the other hand, managed to break the chain of competent customer service by directing the server to handle the problem in a way that was set up for failure (if you mess up an egg, it's an immediate refire because of how the egg cooks in the first place -- Amer also arrested to that policy) all without addressing us and taking accountability, due to negligence or whatever else. Not only that, but when sending the incorrect eggs over the second time, she couldn't even bring it to us herself--it would have been easy, seeing as she was the one that originally had them--and left Adalia and her tip to potentially take the fire if the patrons happen to be angry. Mistakes are fine--everyone makes them--but I'd describe this as cowardly more than anything else, and I take issue with that in particular from a leadership standpoint. While Amer graciously extended an invitation for a better experience next time, I can't say I'll be taking him up on the offer when their service and food are this misaligned; unfortunately, a disappointment overall.
