8-19-26 I was VERY DISAPPOINTED that Sushi Q restaurant used and served iceberg lettuce in its Green Salad -- which has been to blame for the cyclosporiasis food borne illness that has sickened many people, and is still causing illness. I DISCARDED the entire ssalad, UN-eaten. DO BETTER Sushi Q! read more

Sushi Q - Spicy squid , Philadelphia Roll, eel roll , spicy salmon roll - Sushi Bars Near Me - Bronx, New York

My iron stomach couldn't handle tonite's dinner at Sushi-Q. We havent been to this place for about 6 months & I don't think we will be back. Ownership changed June 16 & although the waitress was very nice, the food was not very good. I had the Hong Kong Roll & although it looked good, it tasted slimy & bland. The piece of tempura in the middle did not taste fresh and the eel on top was tasteless. Husband had the chicken teriyaki & it looked so sloppy - nothing like he has had previously. Underneath the chicken was a mixed veggie medly that was very watery & bland. The chicken itself was measly & mediocre tasting (NYTimes has an awesome recipe!). And they dont even serve hot tea... Never heard of a sushi restaurant that didnt have hot tea - its not hard to boil water & drop a tea bag. We noticed that no one else was eating there - and it is usually bustling on a Fri evening. And there is a old, musty smell very noticeable when we walked in. We should have just walked out when we noticed these two things... Luckily we dont live far away because I was literally running to the bathroom after tonight's dinner. Oh well.... read more

This was technically my first official time trying sushi (I tried Sushi about 15 years ago and it wasn't a good experience, but my taste buds have changed). The restaurant is authentic and clean which is appreciated. The customer service was also a pleasant experience. It was also my daughters first time eating sushi as well and she's now a fan. Sushi at this restaurant is fresh, great portions, great pricing. And I look forward to eating here again! read more

I love Sushi Q! I order from here all the time, one of my favorite neighborhood takeout spots. Everything is fairly portioned, fresh, and delivery is very fast. They know me when I call too :). The best! Order for myself or for a big group of friends - they always do it right. read more

Ordered the spicy tuna and spicy salmon sushi roll late night through Uber eats. I wasn't expecting the fish to be so fresh! I do wish less sauce was put on the rolls but both rolls were really tasty! And, the quantity of fish given in each sushi piece is bountiful! Thank you :) read more

Good food. Happy with the maki lunch special. Spicy tuna/spicy salmon was better then usual spots as it had extra sauce... was not happy that I asked for soup and got salad... called and told them and they said there was nothing for them to do. I would have gave 4/5 if it was not for this. If you spend hard earned $ you need to know you are getting what you ordered and not get stressed out from a bad phone interaction. read more

Located on the deeper less busy end of Crosby ave; I've ordered take out a few times and while there is indoor seating there is only one table so I wouldn't exactly recommend planning to dine in. There is no outdoor option as well. That being said, while it's not the best of the best I've ever had, for the price and amount they are a pretty solid option for sushi in the Pelham Bay Area. I personally don't like Tuna so last time I asked to swap out tuna for another fish and they were very willing to swap and accommodate which was nice! I would really recommend to take advantage of their lunch menu because you can get a really solid meal for under 15 dollars and they even do Saturday lunch specials too! Just keep in mind they are closed on Sundays. Just a tip if you like ginger you will need to ask for extra.. - lot more extra read more

1/1 Service; 2/3 Food; 1/1 Value Sushi Q is a modest, cozy eatery with a very warm and friendly staff. There are some tables with limited seating for a casual bite. The kitchen is open concept, so you can see the sushi chefs preparing the rolls to order. I ordered the spicy salmon, spicy kani, shrimp avocado, eel cucumber, chicken tempura, krunchtime fitness rolls and a miso soup for takeout. Miso soups are often an overlooked side, but the soup, albeit mildly salty, is incredibly rich, savory, and full of umami and deserves that recognition. My favorite rolls were the salmon avocado and the krunchtime fitness, both of which were light and delicious owing to each ingredient standing out with fresh and robust flavors. The spicy salmon, spicy kani, and chicken tempura were also rather good. These three were really jammed pack with their respective fillings. However, I didn't really like the amount of sauce that was both in the salmon and kani rolls themselves and then added again to the top. I felt like I could decant off all the sauce and dip other rolls into that spicy mayo, and it would still be enough. I did not like the eel cucumber much because of too strong of a saltwater taste, easily being the only thing I didn't enjoy. Overall, Sushi Q was a good experience with satisfying food at a superb deal! The $39.95 sushi roll platter with the five rolls and a special roll is sufficient for 2-3 servings at less than $7 a roll. I would definitely be down to patron a second time despite the few setbacks all things considered read more

I am a first timer, but we do know others who have ordered from Sushi-Q's and they love it. The place is small and can only seat about 8 folks at most. They do however seem to do very well in their pickup/delivery service. As for me I can safely say that this is now one of our "Go to" places. The service and food is absolutely fantastic! I love the fact that the staff made us feel confortable. Though small in square footage, I truly enjoyed eating there. A big thumbs up to the staff. Stop by or order online. Every order is made fresh and the delivery of your orders are made in a timely manner. Order now, you won't be disappointed. read more

The sushi is really good! Delivery is a bit slow on Uber eats but I would definitely want to try dine in.

This is a real review, Sushi Q is hands down the absolute best sushi place I have ever tried. Not only is their service good and the place is clean, when I get food delivered they take less than 20 minutes! They are just super kind super warm people with the best sushi. I recommend the spicy crab roll or the ping roll! read more

Decided to give Sushi Q a shot at takeout. Was happy with the way everything was packaged. We ordered spicy crab salads and the HD construction roll. The salads were okay, they were very wet and saturated with Mayo which didn't make it so enjoyable. The HD construction roll was good but it was too powerful, a lot going on in that roll and too much special sauce. These were the only 2 items we tried, I won't order these items again, but I will eventually give Sushi Q another chance and order different items off the menu read more

Tried this last week as take out. It was very good. So we decided we'd eat in. The lady was very pleasant. The two sushi chefs, who one ended up being our waiter, wasn't very attentive. I got their sushi delivered and I was highly impressed at the quality and the taste of it all. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because the delivery took about an hour and I was starving. Other than that, I'll definitely order from them again. I had decided to grab a sushi order to go on my way home. I returned to this place because I was in the mood. Much to my chagrin I learned the management has changed hands, at least for the last 6 months. The restaurant was completely empty on a Thursday evening. Should I feel apprehensive? I ordered for takeout: * sashimi deluxe * salmon roll * tuna roll * rainbow roll * crazy roll I was impressed since I waited no longer than 8 minutes to get my order. When I ate it at home with S & J, we looked at each other and commented that some of the fish were 'funny' tasting. Nobody laughed. This restaurant has fallen from grace. read more

Awful place. I went here with my cousins who were taking their daughters to Dance/Gymnastics school right around the area. While we were waiting we decided to look for a dining establishment and bumped into this place. Upon entering, we noticed only 2 minutes had passed since the Lunch Specials were available and asked if we could order from that menu. They denied us, but we continued to look at the menu. For the appetizer, I settled on a Vegetable Sushi (where the Chef decided on what combinations of vegetables to give me. I was thinking, that as in other Sushi places I've visited it would be some sort of avocado/cucumber/sweet potato combo. However, when I got my order, they gave me cucumber with iceberg lettuce. Yes, you read right. ICEBERG LETTUCE. yuck!!!! Who serves that crap? Apparently this place does. I've never been to a Sushi place where one of the vegetables added on to a Sushi roll consists of Iceberg Lettuce. It is entirely void of nutrients. This experience has allowed me to immerse my self in conversations around sushi fanatics and the culinary experience. I've come to one idea, which is if you are a sushi place, no matter where you are located, the establishment should serve authentic meals with optimal produce. You shouldn't try to fool a population. I understand this establishment is located in the Bronx (Pelham Bay area), which might limit the amount of true Sushi eaters that will go eat at this place. However, the quality of the food is precisely what city goers will go after. The popularity of an establishment is precisely placed on the food. For the entree, I ordered Vegetable Teriyaki, an amazing sweet-sourish type sauce that when cooked properly is thick and coats the tofu/veggies very well with its brownish color. When they brought over the dish, it was all watery and the vegetables looked like they were from a frozen package. They taste horrible, like the only thing on the veggies was stock. I had to literally coat the veggies and rice with soy sauce to make it edible. The starting salad again was Iceberg lettuce and the ginger-carrot dressing lacked real ginger flavor. The miso soup hardly had any pieces of tofu in it. This whole experience was a culinary disaster. I didn't make a big fuss about the meal and remained calm and courteous to the restaurant staff. I will not go back to this place again. read more

It's been several years since I've eaten at Sushi Q. Man oh man, I don't know why! The service there is stellar, from the time that you call, to even when you meet them in person. From order selection advice to assessing my guests dietary needs, it was asked and provided at every turn. The delivery of my order, along with food handling was given. I will ensure to keep Sushi Q on my radar going forward, especially for events! read more

Sushi? Good. Service? ehhhhh.... I was skeptical about even eating here since they have a "Grade Pending" hanging in the window and we all know what that means, BUT I was in the mood for sushi so I said "F it!" The inside is small and the lunch specials are cheap. 3 rolls and a salad for $8.95? Word? Then sign me up. My issue? The service. Dude (I assume the owner? manager?) was rude as hell. I asked where the lunch specials were and he pointed on the menu with attitude. My food came with no issues but they took forever to refill my water and when paying, dude straight spazzzzed when I pulled my debit to pay. "NO DEBIT! 15 DOLLAR CHARGE!" he yelled. Ummm okay? I paid cash and broke the hell out. The food was good, but the service needs to loosen up. Geeezzzzzz! read more
