I enjoy going to sushi q with my family. They have a variety of rolls and they are quick. The rock shrimp is amazing.

Was sent the wrong order. When I called to get correct order, the manager said I was wrong because she had changed the menu ingredients, but she forgot to reflect it on the online menus. Try to figure that one out. I requested a refund and was told I would get a 10% discount next time. I explained that when you order an item that specifically states that it includes tofu, fish cakes and seaweed, an order of water in noodles w 2 pieces of broccoli and a piece of carrot doesn't cut it, or even come close. read more

Hm. Sushi Q was quite a pleasant experience. The restaurant is small but very nice and cozy in the inside. Once we arrived, we were greeted by a very nice lady. She gave us menus and explained the specials they had. My wife had the spicy tuna roll which she thought was meh and the dragon tempura roll which she enjoyed a lot more than the other one. I had the hibachi chicken. My meal came with salad which was basic iceberg but the dressing was good, meso soup which was good, fried rice which was meh and the chicken which was very bland. Sushi Q as always is a great place to eat. I don't suggest you use Grub hub offered by Yelp to order from Sushi Q after 2 hours never received my order and when contacted grub hub all they said was attempt to deliver but no one answered even with my phone number posted on receipt no call was made. Although Grub hub offered full refund it will only clear after 3 business days so I had to come out of pocket again too order. After 3 days I go to the throw the trash out and discover my order in trash bin. Case in point if you gonna order stay away from Yelps Grub hub suggestion and just call sushi Q. read more

This is a popular spot in the area for lunch because of the specials. The sushi is ok, however I've only had the lunch specials. Maybe the sushi from the regular menu is better but I thought it was average. The service is good and the staff is friendly. In my experience going here the restaurant looks clean. read more

I just came here on a whim to get some pork fried rice. Man! This was the best pork fried rice I have ever had!

I'm accustomed to eating decent sushi when I'm home or in LA. Regrettably, when I'm at work, I usually resort to supermarket sushi which is what it is. So, I was happy to discover that there was a well rated Japanese restaurant nearby where I could just pick up and go. First off, the restaurant was clean and the staff extensively friendly and polite. Since it was my first time there, I decided to order something safe like a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll. The rice was well rolled and tight which indicates the chef knows what he's doing but then I noticed that the California roll did not have any shrimp and instead had the crab meat which is generally not real crab but a mix of a variety of fish. The tempura roll did have real shrimp. What surprised me a great deal was that both were extremely bland. Neither were offensive in any way but just tasteless. I found myself adding more soy sauce than I usually take but I was desperate to taste something. To my surprise, the soy sauce seemed watered down and I definitely couldn't understand why. They served their soy sauce in these big clear packets and again, the soy sauce did not have any taste either! This place, despite being close to work, being clean and having friendly staff, just left me scratching my head. I'm pretty sure my scalp won't be able to endure any further head scratching, so I won't be going back. Back to supermarket sushi....sigh. read more

I got the shrimp teriyaki meal with fried rice, salad, and soup. It was expensive at $21. The miso soup was the best part and that was subpar. There was not much taste to any of it. It was only a little warm, the vegetables were soggy and the fried rice was just terrible. Ive never had teriyaki shrimp like i had in this meal, it was also soggy and looked like pieces were taken out and i was only getting half a shrimp. It all had the texture as if it was sitting around all day and was thrown in the microwave 5 minutes before i got there. I will for sure not be coming back here. I've been going to Sushi Q for years and will swear to you that- Yes, this place rivals anything in Manhattan. Seriously folks. The sushi here is waaay cheaper and waaay fresher than some of the most busiest and popular sushi haunts outside the Bronx. I've brought a few friends (serious sushi aficionados to boot) here and they couldn't believe what they were getting in terms of quality and price. Definitely get the Hong Kong Dragon (No other place does a Hong Kong Dragon like these guys.), Volcano, Out Of Control and for spiciness check out the Snow roll. With your meal, you'll get Miso soup and salad which are always good. For an appetizer, try the Spicy Squid and or Shumai. As far as anything other than sushi, such as teriyaki, it's OK. Just do yourself a favor and stick with the sushi. Another reviewer here said something about the mochi ice cream being crappy. I have to disagree. He also said something about the miso tasting like it was out of the box... again, for me not so. On the downside, ownership has recently changed hands. However, the chefs are still the same as well as the food, but who knows? That could change as well. But so far so good. The previous owner was a really great Korean guy named Charlie. If anyone knows of where he may have opened a new location, I'd be grateful if you'd contact me. (I suspect he may have a new place in Queens which is where he lived). Oh boy where do I start. I have been coming to Sushi Q for years being that I live just around the corner. Never had any problems with it, food has always been decent, always been a loyal and dedicated patron. Recently my aunt and I took my mom here for her birthday. All was fine, but when the food came my mother was not happy with her roll. It was extremely spicy and there were very large chunks of jalapeno in it with the seeds in, just not quite what what she was expecting. To be fair I understand she ordered it but we have been loyal regular patrons here for YEARS. The owner knows this and would greet us often as familiar faces... When asked if there was anything that could be done about this and maybe exchange it for something else, not only did the owner SCREAM at us, but he continued to BERATE us. Doing so for the next half an hour very loudly causing a scene and making everyone in the place turn and stare at us. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. A simple 'No I'm sorry' would have suffice and I wouldn't be leaving this review now. I was in disbelief. NEVER have I as a customer been treated like this. HORRIBLE customer service. Horrible doesn't even begin to explain it! Ruined my mothers birthday. I am not leaving this review because they wouldn't take the roll off the bill, I understand that...I'm leaving this review for the absolutely HORRIBLE way it was handled and beyond terrible attitude and customer service by the owner/staff. I ordered the chicken bento box which was just ok the shumai was soggy not from the sauce California roll was good. I probably would just order sushi only next time. I live in Parkchester, and this place seemed like a good alternative option than going out to Manhattan or Queens. I had Spicy Tuna, Philly, Spider, and Unagi Dragon, Daniel's Roll. Spicy Tuna Roll came out a bit beat up and mostly crumbled, but rest of the rolls were soundly made and delicious :-) The restaurant itself is petite, but with simple welcoming decor, it's kept quite clean. To top it off, owners and the chefs were friendly. In addition, it was also good to find out that Toro can be reserved - that sounds a lot better than restaurants that never has any. I had the Kruchtime fitness Roll, Tuna roll, & Joe Rocco roll. And i love them. But this is a small restaurant. Cannot take a large party at all. Theres maybe 6 tables. Which is very intimate and can best suit a date or something quaint. The owners seam like very nice people and the chef is talented. The fish has always been fresh. And they also do take out. One set of rolls came with a special sauce that I hated....it made me wonder why anyone would desecrate sushi by adding a disgusting orange sauce...the other rolls were pretty good...do not think you are getting a deal because you are definitely getting the special...my plate was so skimpy compared to my man's....I got the krunctime special to go with no sauce and it was delicious....I thank those guys for coming up with this roll.... I'm rating this 4 because it's a sushi spot in the Bronx. Your not gonna find too sushi but you do find pretty decent sushi. People on here sometimes rate unfairly but I like this spot. It's run by an old school Japanese team and they have decent food all around. If your gonna give this one star and be song well don't order sushi in the Bronx at all. This place is so nice! It's bright and nicely decorated on the inside, making this small spot feel spacious. The staff is very friendly and on a friday night was still preparing orders quickly. (I took mine to go) The gyoza was delicious and fried to crispy perfection! I also had a mindy roll which had good flavor with soft tuna and salmon on the inside and on top. It's right on the Bx8 bus line and a few blocks from the 6 train, so it's convenient for when I'm in the area (especially when I have sushi cravings after Maritime classes). I came to get a pickup and they were a bit rude on the phone, but they were also trying to multi-task (seriously, pausing me after every line). I asked the total and they went "Hang onnnnn," as if I were rushing. It's a pickup, so yeah, I don't think it's rude to ask. The reason why I didn't completely tank it is because, after being zipped out of there (with a nicer, but still kind of blunt approach...
