I have been coming here on and off for about 4 years. I'm in the he area a lot for my doctors visits. So I stop in regularly. On their Chinese menu I've had their sesame chicken and their soups, their beef and chicken with broccoli is great. I order these regularly when there. On their Mexican menu, all I've ever had was their beef burrito and their nachos. The burrito was great but I didn't care for the nachos. Although the chips were good nachos are supposed to come with melted nacho cheese sauce not shredded cheddar and Colby or white American cheese disguiséd as nacho cheese. I may however give their Mexican menu another try next time I'm there though. I never tried their Japanese menu, so I can't comment on that. I would just stick to their Chinese menu overall. Last time I will ever order a Mexican enchilada out of an ASIAN (Japanese,Chinese, Tex Mex) restaurant when there's NOT one Mexican in sight. The enchiladas tasted horrible! The rice was hard as asf. On top of that they only gave ONE very TINY cup of sour cream on the side for a huge plate of food. Then to top it off they were talking crap about me in their language. I know some words in their language despite that I'm Hispanic. From the outside, Fresh Tortillas seems a little off-putting - a restaurant that serves Chinese, Japanese, AND Mexican food? Something's gotta give - and maybe it does I'm not sure. I've only eaten Fresh Tortillas' Mexican offerings and for what it is, it's quite good. I usually get their chicken taco which is quite good for take-out. The portions are generous and pretty tasty. Their chips are good too - more on the homemade side, not just Tostito's in out of the bag. Their nachos are pretty good as well, nothing fancy but tasty. Judging from other Yelp reviews their Asian food leaves something to be desired, but I've stuck with their Mexican food and have had no complaints. Love this spot for Tex mex food and sushi it is a bit pricey but you have to pay for what you want. Made fresh and delicious they do deliver. I enjoy the taco salad, the tacos, the California rolls and the shrimp tempura rolls are some of my favorite items. They refuse to deliver to my area, but they claim that they will charge $2.00 for service over 2 miles, which I'm 2 or 3 miles away, and will pay that charge. Maybe I was expecting too much from a Tex Mex restaurant in the neighborhood. I have had many burritos in my time and have to say that Fresh Tortillas does not make burritos. What I got was a huge taco filled with chicken, rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. There was no flavor to it honestly, I feel horrible posting this but our $32 dinner was a fail big time. It was not even closed/wrapped like a burrito. The whole presentation was nothing close to Tex-Mex. The guacamole is definitely from a tube or something because it was not edible. Unfortunately, he has moved out of the Bronx so traveling to Morris Park doesn't happen often anymore. If I've learned anything from Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares, it's that a complicated, busy menu is a sign of an unsuccessful overachiever in the kitchen. Somehow this place manages to cover their bases pretty damn well! I can only speak for the Chinese and Japanese part of the menu, as I haven't tried the Mexican food. I'm always pleased with the quality and taste of the Chinese food. Great portion sizes and low prices will bring me back for a long time. The sushi is cut in large rolls and also quite cheap for the amount of food you're given. The fish is fresh and tasty and there's a great variety of rolls to choose from! I usually frequent this restaurant because their food usually is fresh but yesterday my husband and i went to grab a quick bite to eat. i ordered shrimp and broccoli with white rice and when i got home, I began eating and noticed that my shrimp kind of tasted and smelled like sausages. At first I thought i was going crazy. I immediately told my husband and told him to try it, which he did and who informed me that it did have a weird sausage taste and after taste to it. He said that it could be spoiled and warned me not to take another bite. I immediately threw the rest of the food away and vowed to call the restaurant the next day but unfortunately the next day which is today, I'm suffering from severe stomach cramping, as i'm writing this review I'm in extreme pain and i vow to NEVERRRRRRR EAT AT THE RESTAURANT AGAIN! As a vegan, I've liked this restaurant for its array of vegetarian options that can be adapted for a non-animal product diet. My experiences however, have only gotten worse every time I've been there. The first time I went I received a black bean burrito with guacamole, lettuce, etc. The food beans were luke warm and the guacamole was almost invisible. It looked like they watered down the guacamole to the point where it had no taste but all the moisture to make the burrito somewhat soggy. The only reason I went again was because (as a vegan) living in the Bronx, my food choices are very limited. The second time and third time I went there the service was beyond horrible. I doesn't bother me when cashiers and cooks do not speak English very well, but the man behind the counter knew the least amount of English possible to run restaurant. That however, wasn't my biggest problem: whenever I asked for something the man never seemed like he heard me. He looked thoroughly angry throughout the entire process and ignored half the things I said. Every time I've added something to me order I had to ask him if he heard a second time or sometimes a third time. And of course, I he would respond with a quick nod. Mind you, no eye contact was made throughout the entire process. On top of all of this, the second time I went with my non-vegan sister, who ordered beef dumplings. She asked the man if he heard her (because he gave her absolutely no response) and he did not respond for a second time. Instead of asking again she assumed he must of heard her, since she spoke VERY slowly and loud. But of course, in her bag she received pork dumplings, and not the beef dumplings she ordered. Lastly today, the third and final time I went, I asked for tofu and a seaweed salad from their Japanese cuisine menu. When I got the tofu, it tasted horrible, and sure enough was spoiled. Some pieces were all around covered with brown spots, giving the tofu a very discerning aftertaste. The pieces were also very, very slimy. I was only able to eat them because I poured a crap load of soy sauce and I didn't return the order because I had already gotten halfway through the meal before I realized that the problem was that the tofu was spoiled, not that the seasoning was wierd. Overall this place, has HORRIBLE service and their food ranges from "eww" to "eh." If you're desperate and feeling lucky than it might be worth it, otherwise I wouldn't bother. read more

Errgggh! The whole purpose of the delivery option is that you don't have to put on a bra and go outside if you don't want to. Apparently, the people at Fresh Tortilla missed this memo as the delivery guy calls you to make you come outside to pick up your food only to find that he's not actually outside yet or blows his horn incessantly until you get outside, and then has the nerve to get an attitude when he doesn't get a 15% tip. I called the manager to complain and she totally defended him and said "that's ok" when I said she was losing a loyal customer.
