Food was amazing and the guy who served us was really nice. Also I enjoyed the atmosphere.

AMAZINGG MEXICAN FOOD! I really recommend their steak! Came all the way from new jersey and can say this is REAL authentic Mexican food! Victor the host was amazing, made us feel at home and even gave us multiple complimentary chips and salsa as well as a free shot! Ambiance was very cute.

This Mexican gem is on a completely different level than any other Latin restaurant in the area. The food is amazing - we had steak, chicken fajitas with the most amazing jumbo wild caught shrimp! The special was Atlantic salmon in a pistachio sauce that was incredible. Guacamole and fresh home-made salsa is like no other! So fresh with home-made tortilla chips were hard to stop eating. The only thing more impressive than the food is the warm and welcoming service offered by Victor and his wife (the chef)! Can't wait to come back!

Victor was an amazing and kind host. Being from out of town he made us feel right at home. Starting with the chips and salsa, everything was beyond amazing. I highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem.

We really enjoyed the food at this place, my favorite being the tacos. My spouse really enjoyed the Birria. The guacamole was so fresh and delicious. What I didn't really like was the cocktails we ordered a classic margarita, but I don't think that's their forte and the cost was a little more than we expected $16 per drink. But there was a nice bonus at the end of dinner from the owner of the place in the form of tequila shots. We also had takeout, I of course ordered tacos and my husband had the Quesadilla, in my opinion it was a little too salty, but I'm not a big fan of quesadillas, so it's hard for me to be objective. To summarize, I definitely recommend this place. Unfortunately the photos from the restaurant were not saved, but there are a couple of photos from the delivery.

Monster burrito, best fish tacos I've ever had, and Victor is the man. This is a great spot for authentic Mexican food and a good time when in New Rochelle!

The owner of this restaurant, Victor, is the main star here. I have never met a restaurant owner that has shown such incredible hospitality like Victor has. He is incredible and the main reason we will always come back. The food is outstanding as well. The shrimp enchiladas are my go to every time. The shrimp is always cooked perfectly and cut into small pieces which I love. The sauce on the enchiladas is so flavorful and delicious that I dip my chips in it as well. My boyfriend loves the burrito! He gets it every time as well. The restaurant is cozy and has a rei Mexican authentic feel to it. We're so grateful to have Victor and his amazing restaurant so close to us!

Great place to dine and relax with friends and family. The food and service were both exceptionally great. We came in late on a Saturday night and I was surprised to see an empty restaurant. The host/waiter/owner is such as asset to this restaurant, the gentleman was so kind, professional, and welcoming. We left feeling like family. Prices are good for the quality and service, you are definitely not getting ripped off. I will definitely be back to try their new specials. This is a must-go!

Ask the Community - Tlaquepaque Restaurant

Is this place still open? I have been unable to reach by phone despite calling during their open hours.

It is open they have new hours.. Tuesday-Friday 5-10 pm Saturday 5-11 and Sunday's 2-8 pm

I've been trying to call to order for a couple days, and showed up once. But, it was closed :( Does anyone know if the restaurant is still open? Hope they're okay.

Ya it's definitely still open, just call at a different time

Is there a vegan menu? Thanks!

Hello! This is the kid of the owner but i'm going to try and answer this question... I don't think there is a vegan menu sorry- but i'll try and ask them to make some vegan options!

You have to look for parking nearby though or if you take the train it's a very easy work from the harlem line.

This was my first visit back to La Casa since my initial visit back when they first opened. During…read moremy first experience, I wasn't too impressed and left a 3-star review. However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

This restaurant has been around for about…read moresix years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I truly wish I hadn't--because I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the décor, the service, and the extensive menu. There are so many dishes I want to come back and try. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I ordered the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, cactus pad (nopales), rice, and beans. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We ended the night on a high note with dessert--one of the best flans I've ever had--paired with a glass of hot Mexican coffee. Absolutely delicious. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The bar in the front was busy but the dining room was pretty empty so we were able to choose our table. First thing that stood out to me was the cute vibes of the place. The art work on the walls and different backdrops- great for a photo session. We were given two paper menus and an iPad with photos of the food. That was pretty cool, especially for someone like me who likes to see photos of the food I'm eating before I even choose a restaurant. Service was fine and staff were friendly however the wait time for our food especially in an empty dining room took a while. Now, the food was AMAZING. We ordered Cuba Tabaco y Ron (Latino eggrolls) as an app - SO good. We got a Lomo Sushi Roll to share, which was tasty. I got the Roasted Pernil and my husband got the Honey Glazed Salmon. Both were delicious and filling. Would definitely check this place out if you enjoy Latin fusion food. It's such a cute and romantic place. I will say I got a headache from the red lights above us, I wish there would have been more clear lighting at the table but regardless this is a place to check out.
