    Chicken Quesadilla
    Angelica C.

I usually have my go to regular Mexican restaurants but was told about this spot and now I will def be adding this on my roster as top 3!! I ordered the chicken quesadilla on a flour tortilla. The quesadilla comes with cheese choice of meat and lettuce and tomatoes inside of it and on the side were 2 spicy sauces, guacamole and sour cream. Watching the ladies cook it was a nice touch. The ambiance was so cute with all the decor and one of the cleanest I've seen in a while. I didn't rate it 5 stars solely because they do not do delivery and there was no side dish but to be honest I was nice and full and I pick up my food faster than any uber eats or delivery driver could lol!

    Pozole is so good!!

My wife and I were in the area doing some holiday shopping. Which is always an excuse for me to check Yelp for a great nearby (preferably ethnic) restaurant. I noticed that Midland Taco House had solid reviews and a cool retro diner look. Figured we should give it a shot. We arrived around 12:30 on a Saturday and the place was quiet. Not typically a great sign but it's the time of year where staying warm on the couch seems like a plan. We were greeted by the staff, each was friendly and helpful throughout our lunch. They let us know that they own another restaurant in Spring Valley. The cool retro diner look from the pictures, was even nicer in person. Comfortable seating and nice wall art etc. Probably about time to mention the food. It's as good or in some ways better than any of the Mexican food we've had in the area. They serve pozole on the weekends, I recommend that you get it. Super flavorful, tender hominy, chunks of delicious pork, in a great broth! I really enjoyed the longaniza tacos as well, slightly different flavor profile from the chorizo. My wife enjoyed the al pastor tacos and we both enjoyed the guacamole that we shared, very fresh! Definitely looking to return and to try their other restaurant!

Diner vibes interior and staff are serving great tacos! This would be our third time coming back and we love their tacos. It's a little pricey but the flavor really makes up for it. They've changed their menu since the last time we came. Staff are more comfortable speaking in Spanish but can easily accommodate English speaking people (like myself). They're all very friendly and sweet! The tacos come out piping hot but once you let it cool down a little, you'll eat them so fast because they're so good. They also make burritos and the burrito is huge. My friend only managed to eat half and had to share it. They also have desserts like flan and tres leches cake in the back fridge as well as mangonadas and ice cream in their ice cream freezer. Their flan is custardy and not overwhelmingly sweet which I liked. Overall, highly recommend!

New-ish taco spot, opened in 2023. Very clean and spacious. They have a good set of taco options. You have to order minimum of 2 tacos, which does limit your ability to mix and match a few of them. It would be nice if they removed this restriction when ordering a certain amount of tacos total, but I can understand from a biz perspective this is not a high foot traffic area that stays constantly busy...so they have to make some compromises. They also have traditional Mexican sodas available. If you pay with credit card there is a card fee, do cash if you can. The pastor and carnitas tacos are my favorite. Ask for peppers on the side with your order for an extra kick. I tried the birria tacos and didn't think they were anything special. You can also order birria with cheese, but they skimp on the cheese, so not worth it. The azteca fries have a ton of meats, cheese and stuff on them, taste good, but I would only order this for a big group to share. Overall - this is one of the most authentic taco spots in westchester. Prices are reasonable compared to other places and everything was tasty. Would recommend to come again!

Midland Taco House is an absolute gem for anyone craving delicious Mexican food! I recently visited and indulged in the pastor tacos, quesadilla, and chicken sopes, and I can confidently say that every bite was a delight. The quality of the food is outstanding; each dish was cooked to perfection, showcasing vibrant flavors that truly stand out. The pastor tacos were particularly impressive, perfectly seasoned and bursting with taste. The quesadilla was melty and satisfying, while the sopes were a comforting treat that I couldn't get enough of. What really sets Midland Taco House apart, though, is the top-notch service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing a great dining experience. As well as it being clean and very retro inside. Overall, this is probably some of the best Mexican food I've had to date. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and check it out--you won't be disappointed!

Example of the bags of sauce, they are also sloppy to open.

Tacos here are excellent. The food in general is very good. It's a clean place. They maintain it well. My only complaint would be. I don't like the takeout sauces in these little plastic bags. I prefer the cup with the lid, but that's minor. The sauce itself is fantastic .

I ordered two beef steak quesadillas with the flour taco and those were absolutely fantastic!! Tender bits of steak, and a green chile sauce and a red hot sauce served in small plastic cups to pour all over these heavenly dishes! Enter the Tacos; I want you guys to know that you cannot order just ONE taco, they need to be ordered two at a time. So if you want just ONE taco they won't sell it to you! I ordered two chicken tacos and two steak (carnitas) tacos WITHOUT CILANTRO ! I'm allergic to cilantro. They did a great job of cleaning the stove top before they prepared and heated my food order. Also I told them my wife is allergic to pork, (she's Muslim & it's just easier to tell chefs at these type of establishments that my wife has "allergies" to any pork products. The Tacos were good. Not amazing, but satisfying. I then ordered the chicken fingers which came with a HUGE portion of hot, steamy, French fries! The fries were fried to perfection and the potato flavor was not overpowered by the oil it was fried in. The fries were pretty much perfection. The chicken fingers were square pieces of fried chicken covered in a dark brown bread crumb with some green herbs in the bread crumbs that I could not identify. I didn't like the chicken fingers. They were not what I was expecting. The breading was not tasty and there were short and stubby cuts of flat chicken. I didn't like the looks or the taste. All of this came out to 41$ and some change. I thought overall the food, minus the chicken fingers was fresh- well prepared - and appetizing. The price is a little steep for my pockets. So I probably wouldn't be going here all the time because of pricing alone. Overall the place is very clean and the food appears to be fresh and delicious; but skip the chicken fingers.... ORDER THE QUESEDILLAS!!!!! Buon Provecho! Buon Appetito!

This restaurant has been around for about…read moresix years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I truly wish I hadn't--because I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the décor, the service, and the extensive menu. There are so many dishes I want to come back and try. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I ordered the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, cactus pad (nopales), rice, and beans. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We ended the night on a high note with dessert--one of the best flans I've ever had--paired with a glass of hot Mexican coffee. Absolutely delicious. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.
