We tried this restaurant for the first time this past Saturday evening. My son was home from college ! We said we heard nice things about the restaurant and we tried it It was very, very busy. We sat at the sidebar and ordered a couple of beers and a glass of wine. They were absolutely delicious. The beer was outstanding. Then when seated, we ordered a rice bowl and some chicken egg rolls And another rice bowl and guacamole and chips which was absolutely delicious. The ambience and the food is definitely worth it. I give it a five star PLUS rating and review . Here in our little town of Tuckahoe.! There are tables and chairs and some cozy side couches with decorative pillows. A very cozy atmosphere and a hopping bar crowd as well in another area . I have just called all my local friends to tell them my Five Star experience at the restaurant and have highly recommended it to them. Next time , I will try the tacos and they have a very extensive menu of tacos and rice bowls. They also have a children's menu. Came across this taco spot in Tuckahoe and had to try it. By far the best tacos I've had in a while. Tried the ,General Tso tacos Cowboy steak tacos,Birria tacos and the Korean short rib tacos. All very excellent choices and nicely displayed on a tray. My favorites were the general tso and korean short rib tacos. I Rate them a 20/10! Full.of flavor in each bite. We also tried the birria bowl which was real good also. There are weekly specials throughout the week including $3 tacos on Sundays. Many other menu items to choose from and drinks. First time heading to Taco Bahama. Very friendly and ambiance both dining and bar area had a great vibe. Our server greeted us warmly. We asked questions since it was our first dining experience. She was very helpful. We ordered the chicken spring rolls and tuna rice cakes as apps. Delicious. So flavorful. Entreees included bento box ( sloppy joe pork belly and tuna tacos with chicken tortilla soup, dumplings). And order of sloppy joe and carnitas taco. Also side order of cucumber salad with sweet chili sauce. Dessert included espresso affogato and churros with chocolate sauce. As I said earlier it was our first visit. Food was all so great and service was awesome. Two things: The pork belly taco had little bones in or hard fats? So I had to chew it slowly. But my favorite was the steak tacos! The carne asada. The shrimp was so goood I wish it had 3 instead of 2... but the flavorss were amazing. My bf got the chicken bowl . And he said the meat was so tender and flavorful. But too much rice compared to the toppings. I also loved to churros! It was not hot because we brought it home but it was still so so good! I think its a little bit unfair that they hand you the chips and guaq on your table with out mentioning because although it was so good, it was 12$ . No regrets but just note that it is not included for free. Its a very busy place at least for weekend evening. I would go again and try their korean style menus!! read more

We were here with my husband's good ol' buddies for a little birthday celebration. What we ordered: Festive cocktails of course! (I enjoyed the Bahama Cabana) - We started with - Decadent Nachos, Fall off the bone Asian Sticky Ribs. I have been dying to check this place out for weeks and let me tell you - it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Sophia was such a sweetheart and made sure my friend and I had a spot to have a drink while we waited for our table. Although the restaurant doesn't take reservations, we did not wait for long. By the time we were finished with our drink our table was ready. Willie, our server, was amazing ! He was super attentive, friendly, and had our food out hot and ready ! The drinks were delicious with a nice kick. The food was the real highlight, though. Every dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. You could tell that fresh ingredients and careful preparation went into everything. The fusion between two of my favorite cuisines - Asian and Mexican - was truly something I never knew I needed. We had a special, the tuna rice cake and wow - it was 10/10. The tacos were also soooo good ! So creative and flavorful. My favorites (which was a hard contest because everything was so good) were the Asian rib, blackened salmon snd Szechuan chicken. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. The restaurant was a little small but had a lovely cozy vibe. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable meal and top-notch service. Taco Bahama's concept of blending Asian flavors with Mexican-style tacos--and offering a bento box that brings both cultures together--had me curious for a while. It just took me a bit of time to finally make it here. The atmosphere at Taco Bahama is inviting and comfortable, featuring cushioned seating and a bar area flanked by two dining spaces. I chose to sit in the large bar area by the window, which offered better lighting--perfect for capturing some photos. They offer a variety of alcoholic cocktails as well as some Booze Free. We shared the Asian sticky wings on the special menu , which arrived with visible steam rising from them, even though they weren't all that hot temperature-wise. There was quite a bit of pork juice underneath, and based on the menu description we expected the ribs to have a sticky glaze. The ribs were flavorful albeit a bit heavy with the five spice seasoning. We both ordered the bento boxes, which let you pick three different tacos from a big list of options. You also get a choice of soup--either miso or chicken tortilla--and a side of guacamole or seaweed salad. We both went with the seaweed salad, which was really tasty, and chose different soups. Each plate also came with three dumplings that were delicious, with a dipping sauce that was spot-on. I had the miso soup, which had plenty of tofu and spinach and was really enjoyable. The chicken tortilla soup had a good amount of tortilla strips and chicken. We each tried different tacos, except for one--the Vietnamese-style taco with caramelized shrimp and traditional sauce. That one was just okay for us. I didn't really get any of the bold flavors I associate with Vietnamese food, like fish sauce nor were the small shrimp caramelized. The standout for me was the Birria taco--it came pre-dipped in consommé,. It was packed with meat and really tasty. I also liked the Korean short rib taco with pickled onions and Yum Yum sauce--it had a nice sweetness that I enjoy. My daughter's chicken taco with Szechuan peppers, ginger, chiles and soy was not spicy at all. She really liked the pork belly, pickled onions with ponzu taco. Three sauces were on our table, ranging from mild to hot. I thought the mild had a nice kick and good flavor. My daughter went for the hot sauce and really liked it. The medium sauce looked like it might've been tomatillo-based, but I can't say for sure--it was a bit watery, so I skipped it. The mild and hot sauces were both thick and well-made. I think the prices are reasonable for the food options. I liked the decor and vibe, and the staff was friendly. There's also a super convenient paid parking lot almost right next door. read more

I think the food is fine, but the place has raised its prices significantly since it opened. The small tacos are $5 each and you need 6 to even start filling you up. We asked for a little salsa next to our quesadillas, and they charged us $8 for another round of chips/salsa to get it. Some places offer complimentary salsa and chips to start, and this place charged $8 for the same! The bill was high for a small family. Ambiance is very livelihood and it was jam packed upon arrival! Thankfully I was able to snag 2 seats at the bar and start my order. I didn't take pictures due to the fact that the tacos were super on point! I am so glad I let my fiancé suggested trying out this new spot in Tuckahoe. They recently opened so their available menu is limited to tacos. I was absolutely mesmerized by the ambience; every aesthetic element is very well thought out and curated. You get an elevated, authentic Mexican visual experience. The furniture, wall decor, lighting, tables, firmly cushioned booths and colors flow so well together you really feel your mind and body fuse together and breathe purely fresh air. Service was exceptional. It was fairly quiet so we were served expeditiously. The cocktails come to further enhance the experience. We sampled some of their signature cocktails and by far, the bartender mixed the best classic margarita I've ever had. By the time we reached the guac and chips, the bar was as high as our appetite. The guacamole was fresh and bold with flavor. It was delightful to eat a whole round, homemade tortilla chip. At a whooping $4, we ordered nearly every taco on the menu. I cannot exaggerate if I wanted to but these tacos were quite literally the best tacos in NYC. Every bite was teeming with very creative flavors. Of note were the Southerner chicken, sweet potato, Korean short rib, carne asada, the cod and the Steve Aoki tacos. I wish we had space left for dessert but we expended all our gluttony on tacos and margaritas. But we'll definitely be back to try their churros and know we won't be disappointed. read more

I came to taco Bahama just to get takeout on a lazy weekday. Inside is absolutely gorgeous. You transported into this tropical bohemian paradise. I actually wish my living room could look like this. The staff was super friendly as there was a little bit of a wait for my order, but they were so nice. Offered me anything to drink since I was waiting. The place is fixed up very cutely and the owner with his staff are friendly and efficient. The soft opening menu is available with the rest ready next week. The guacamole was very fresh and just needed a little lime juice. The taco selection is extensive and @ $4 per is terrific. The Carne Asada, El Pastor and Birria were all very good and flavorful. The Chicken Tika, the Shrimp and the Tempura Cod all were well seasoned. The cocktails are fun and the list of desserts nice. The Churros were made fresh and the cchocolate dipping was enjoyable. I went there w my mom and daughter Saturday night! I absolutely loved the tacos! They were so delicious, I had the Korean Short rib. Chorizo, pork belly and the carne asada taco! Came here the other night for the first time with some friends, here's some things to consider/know before going: - we had to wait 45 minutes for a table or so, then towards the end of our meal felt rushed since the restaurant was closing within 45 minutes (mind you we arrived almost 3 hours before closing) - guacamole is delicious, with bold flavors, however the portion to the price is crazy -my friends & i had multiple margaritas and all thought the same: while they were good: the size was very small, the glass was full of ice, you probably only got ~2 shots of a beverage - everyone was pleased with their tacos, but $4.00 for a taco and the size is absurd, but that's the new thing -1 of my friends got the bento box option, and it was really a bang for their buck: $23 for 3 tacos, soup, dumplings and either guac or seaweed salad (the guac legit is the same portion as the appetizer -dessert was GREAT! we tried the churros, gelato, tres leches - waitstaff was lovely and seemed concerned about us waiting etc -our bill was over $230 which we thought was pricey for what we received Will come again, but probably won't be getting guac or a margarita - save your $35 ! read more
