I don't give out a lot of 5 star reviews, but what a fantastic lunch. Spent some time at the Botanical Gardens (less than 10 minutes away) and did a quick search for lunch. They came up highly recommended, that always makes me a little apprehensive. They were right! Got there around 1is, not crowded but there were some patrons - looked like regulars. We got seated right away. Service could not have been better and I base a lot of my reviews on that. One of the staff was clearing the table and accidentally brushed against me, he barely touched me - he couldn't have been more apologetic. Very impressive, I assume management trained him and kudos to them for that! Food was next level! Calamari app was tasty, fresh, tender and delicious. Ordered for take out the seafood pasta, chicken saltimbuca, and the Mediterranean salad. The food was ok. For the expensive prices for the Bronx it was a bit disappointing. The Mediterranean salad had no tomatoes or cucumbers which is pretty standard in a Mediterranean salad. No bread came on the side. Typical Italian restaurants will always provide a bread on the side. The chicken was ok. The seafood pasta lacked flavor. It's as if the seafood was just boiled without lemon, butter, wine etc. it had no flavor ! I requested utensils and to go items (plates, napkins) and the ordered came with nothing. Big disappointment won't be returning. read more

Everything was just amazing, from the atmosphere, excellent team welcoming you, serving you, to the food. The food was incredible, the pasta was cooked perfectly, al dente as it should be! The sauces we delicious, from the chicken marsala, veal saltimbocca and the pollo alla Antonio. The Filet was also cooked to perfection, and a quality piece of meat. The veal was also clearly quality and not that typical thin, obviously frozen stuff too many places drown in sauce to hide. Will definitely be back, many other items my family and I want to try! Our friends who live in the Bronx told us about the Little Italy area in the Bronx. Never heard of it but I am glad we went. The area was very quaint and we got to have dinner here at Antonio's. Our server was very good and prompt. The food was outstanding and the wine was delicious. The bread basket arrived at the table promptly after seating but I noticed that it was room temperature. We asked for it to be warmed up and they did very quickly. My pork chop with onion and peppers was moist and very well made..I asked for no salt added. This may be one, if not the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had. I grew up in NYC and Mimi's pizza was my "go to." This rivaled that long lost memory. It's hard to live up to a memory and they did it. The pepperoni was the perfect size, spread out evenly across the pizza. It got cooked to the perfect curl, enough to have a slight crisp, but still a good chew. My frutti di mare was spicy, as requested (it normally has a mild sauce) and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. I had NY cheesecake for dessert, which was spot on. My cocktail was huge and strong. I luckily had a designated driver. The others in my party had chicken parm, pasta, and loved their dishes, too. We came from Long Island to try out the famous Arthur Avenue district and this place got the highest reviews. The service was pretty spot on. Not sure if it was because the night was a quiet one (Friday) but everyone was super attentive. The food was okay. I wouldn't make a trip here but I guess if I was in the area, this is a place I'd go to. Well, we gave this place a try by recommendation. Unfortunately, it fell below expectations. We tried the veal saltimbocca and the Linguine Alle Vongole. The veal looked great but the flavor was truly lacking. Marsala-like sauce was watery without the rich flavor. Could be so much better. The clams were plentiful but needed a bit more linguine. The sauce was so watery and tasted like just clam juice with barely any flavor at all. Lacked the wine garlic deliciousness that normally comes with this dish. So, we won't be returning. The chicken parmigiana just isn't the best I've ever had and the pasta that comes with it is also a little on the salty side. Excellent Italian food is found all over NYC. Most times I find myself in Manhattan or Brooklyn enjoying a taste of Italy. It was really nice going to Bronx' Little Italy by Arthur Avenue & finding purely excellent cuisine. Our group of 3 enjoyed a wonderful lunch. The service was excellent, & the ambiance was Italian all the way. Well, actually the piped in music was anything but Italian, but that's ok. I got to enjoy part of 2 dishes. One was artichokes cooked in olive oil, Parmesan, & other goodies. That dish was gold! The other dish was a classic pizza topped with cupped pepperoni. It was excellent. Between our trips to the Bronx Zoo and the Botanical Gardens, we needed dinner. All the intel we saw said Arthur Avenue was the place to be, so we perused Italian restaurants on Yelp and Antonio's was right at the top. There was a 30 minute wait so we wandered through the streets for a while, looking at all the other restaurants and markets. When we got back, we only had to wait a bit more to get seated. One of the (few) cons of this place is that there really wasn't anywhere to stand while you waited - the entryway was really cramped, so one of my friends was squashed up near the bar, another ended up in front of the men's restroom, and I was trapped between the host stand and the door. Some of the big groups were actually standing in the middle of the front seating area, where we ended up sitting, so when we were seated there were people standing almost on top of us for the beginning of our meal. But you know what? It was worth it because the food and drinks were freakin' awesome. I got the Italian Lemonade with vodka, Aperol, sour mix, and lemonade, and one of my friends got the white sangria. Both drinks were excellent, but she thought the Italian Lemonade was so good (as did I) that she got one for her second drink. For our meals, one friend got the tortellini en brodo, another got the special ravioli with chicken, walnuts, dates, and rosemary, and I got the lasagna. Everyone was simply delighted with their meal. My lasagna was delicious, with delicate sheets of pasta packed with meat and cheese and a great tomato sauce (which I wished there was a little more, but I always want more sauce). My friend's ravioli was also fabulous, with a wonderful combination of flavors and a lovely sauce. My other friend loved her tortellini as well. The bread served to the table was fresh and tasty, and great for dipping in all our dishes. Even though it took a while to get seated, once we did the service was fast and friendly. Ambiance - Friendly, not too loud so you were able to hear conversations I had: the endive gorgonzola salad. It my favorite dish of the meal. Delicious, ample-size portion. This place was so good, I had it in my bookmarks for a while and have NO IDEA why I hadn't been there before. It was Saturday and we came with no reservation. I called beforehand to ask if they required reservations and he said we could come, as soon as we walked in the server recognized my voice, which was pretty great, and he sat us at a table next to the windows that he had gotten ready for us when I called. Every person that came to our table was incredibly friendly and with such a sweet vibe. We shared eggplant parmigiana for appetizer, and let me tell you, IT WAS THE BEST I HAVE HAD!!! We devoured it as soon as they brought, the delicious smell had us going crazy!! My and my mom LOVED IT!!! For entree my mom chose Alfredo Fettuccini with chicken and I chose Spaghetti Carbonara, they were both delicious and savory but not salty and the pasta was cooked to perfection!! For dessert we chose two of their homemade ones: Italian cheesecake and tiramisu. My mom LOVED the Italian cheesecake and we were actually pretty surprised to see it was nothing like American cheesecake, it had more like an actual cake texture and it was not too sweet, which she loved even more! My tiramisu was definitely made in heaven, it was so delicious and soft, you could taste every ingredient but as a perfect combination, nothing was overpowering!! After a long day of orchid-traipsing at the botanical garden, I'm glad we veered off the main Arthur Ave stretch to Antonio's because they were able to seat our tired feet right away--but I wouldn't rush back. Our lunch was a mixed bag. The good: - Baked Clams Oreganata: Delicious and generously portioned - Arancini di Riso: Crisp and savory, but four wasn't really enough (we got 24 clams for the Oreganata, for reference) The eh: - Baked Ziti Sorrentino: Creamy and rich and large, but lacking in seasoning. - Veal Parmigiana: The veal cutlet itself was very savory and well done, but it came with the same weird spaghetti. The not great: - Spaghetti with Meatballs: The sauce was weirdly lumpy and didn't mix well with the noodles, and the meatballs, though big, were dry and overcooked. - Frutti di Mare: It had loads of seafood, but again, the tomato sauce was off. Service was fine, but there are nicer, friendlier spots on AA. Ditto the decor, which isn't bad, but kinda dark and depressing compared to some of the fake frescos you'll see on AA. read more

We chanced upon this gem on our way to the zoo and everything we ordered was amazing. Haven't had shrimp this big and juicy in years. The pasta was excellent, the pizza some of the best we've ever had and the soup was also outstanding. The dressing in the caesar salad was light, zesty and delicious. Our server was a prince and kept our wine glasses filled. They even have a kid's menu with a great selection. Truly something for everyone. The complimentary bread (2 thick slices) was fluffy with a chewy crust. It was so good, I'd consider buying a whole loaf. I was in a group of 8 and had originally wanted to go to a different restaurant in Little Italy but it was closed on Sundays so Antonio's Trattoria was the backup option. We got there shortly after they opened and we were able to be sat right away without a reservation. The staff took really great care of us the whole time we were there. The fried calamari was good, pretty standard. I got the gnocchi as my main but regretted it and wished that I had gotten the carbonara lol. The gnocchi was just alright and I saw my other friends who got the carbonara and it looked better than mine haha. Lastly, I can't go to an Italian restaurant and NOT try their tiramisu! I got it for dessert but was kind of disappointed. I've had better tasting tiramisu before. I guess I didn't like that it was kind of room temperature instead of slightly chilled, I also thought that the flavors strong enough. Yeah so would I come back here on my own just for the food? Probably not. But it was really fun to come here with friends and Antonio's was great at accommodating a large group so I wouldn't be opposed to eating here if those circumstances come up again. read more

We ordered a $30 bottle of red which was pretty decent and started with baked clams and small fried veal meatballs (added ricotta on the side). Both were good - I loved soaking up the sauce from the baked clams with the bread and wish there was more red sauce with the meatballs. Entrees Fettuccine Alfredo - creamy and good but I wish the portion was bigger. Veal Saltimbocca - DELICIOUS! Our favorite entree we ordered. Rotini Filetto di Pomodoro - liked the diced prosciutto in it but was a bit salty. Rotini Rugantini - delicious spiral pasta in red sauce with sausage. The pasta menu was divided into "pasta" and "fresh made pasta" so not sure if the latter meant homemade pasta but if it did, I wish there was a larger selection since it was mostly the fettuccini alfredo, lasagna and gnocchis. We were near a secondary entrance that let very cold air in when opened. Tacky plastic water bottles and some mixed decor. Food was inconsistent. Gnocchi was too soft but cheesy tasty and the plum tomatoes sauce was delicious. Fettuccini Alfredo was creamy and delicious but simple ( lacked some depth) noodles were excellent. Bucatini pesto with salmon was a mess. Pesto had no flavor. Salmon was thin and flavorless and the pesto tasted like cream with green food coloring. It was delicious. We also shared Aarancini, which was also light and delicious. My wife had Primevara, which she said was the best she had had in a long time, and I had the broccoli raab. sausage and penne. It was delicious and so well balanced. The broccoli raab was just bitter enough, and the whole thing was moist and balanced perfectly with the sausage mixed in. We then had cappuccino and shared a Nutella Cannoli. Perfect! I had a family dinner here on a crowded Saturday night. We had reservations and were immediately seated. The staff was very friendly and very patient with the children in my family. For appetizers, we had the fried calamari, arancini, Caesar salad and arugulata pizza. The fried calamari is some of the best we've had and the arancini was delicious. The kids loved the arugulata pizza. For dinner, I had the gnocchi alla boscaiola, which I absolutely loved. It was the perfect amount of food for me. I also tried my girlfriend's short ribs, which were the perfect melt off the bone texture. I wanted to steal the plate from her. For dessert, I had the tiramisu.
