This place has become our favorite dinner spot every time we go to the NYBG. I would recommend making reservations because it gets crowded and I have seen them turn away walk-ins. Overall thoughts, the specials menu is usually pretty great. The main menu can be a little more hit or miss. They also play a song really loud every time it's someone's birthday which can be a little jarring, don't love that since it's an adult classy restaurant except for that. For appetizers we always get the Burrata con Mais e Gamberi because it's always so fresh, creamy and tangy. Then we usually order off the specials menu. I typically get whatever the artichoke appetizer is, it's consistently delicious. Last time I had pan seared artichokes hearts with fava bean and sausage, amazing! The two times we ordered a fresh tomato starter the tomatoes were a big let down, for example the Caprese salad was just ok, I wouldn't get it again. For entrees I also like to order off the specials menu. The ravioli with figs, prosciutto, ricotta with sage butter sauce and the time before was a mortadella stuffed ravioli were both delicious. We read somewhere to get anything cooked "al cartoccio" style. Sure enough we ordered the Mafalde al cartoccio with veal ragu and melted burrata cheese off the specials menu and it might have been one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. We've also tried several desserts, such as the cannoli, lava cake and profiteroles. While nothing was innovative they were all delicious and will satisfy your sweet tooth. Did not care for the Neapolitan cheesecake, it was dry and could have used at least some whipped cream on top.

Dining as good as it gets, right behind the market. Apps and pastas and mains are all really good. Go for the in-house dried steak if that's what you're in the mood for. Comes with charred, chopped shoshito peppers. Nice sear on the steak and topped with some finishing salt and aromatic rosemary. The sauce is also heavenly, worth a dab on your steak. Erlon is an amazing server.

Delicious, upscale Italian cuisine. Friendly service from waiters that have been there for a long time and how's knowledgeable about the menu. Lovely table set ups and good ambiance. We had the specials- shrimps, scallops, and eggplant appetizers, a few pasta dishes, special fish w/baby clams, grilled rabbit, and a wonderful selection of wines. I'd come here for a special celebration or date night. It's too fancy for a regular dinner out night.

When you think of little Italy do you think NYC or the.Bronx? It's only the Bronx for me. They are all great. But Roberto's is my favorite. With a off the menu chicken parmigiana and a great special list. And pasta right from the oven. I don't come here often enough but need to change that.

So I have been eating on Arthur Ave my whole line, and never got to Roberto's. I think because I would normally go on a Friday or Saturday. Tonight I said let's try it. So glad we did! The service was excellent ! 1 server and two Bus Boys. They were all nice, and attentive to us. We started with a drink each. They gave us some bread, olive oil. In the bread basket was delicious focaccia! Then we had the fennel salad (only salad on the menu) which was very good. Not over powering with dressing They split it up for Us. Then my husband ordered the special of the fettuccine with black truffles, and I had the special of the Veal osso bucca with risotto ! Delicious!! Such great choices we made! I must say this was really probably the BEST restaurant in the neighborhood. The other "Italian" restaurants in Little Italy, are just the run of the Mill. I would love to get in on a Saturday evening, with a reservation!!

As one should. I ordered the Pasta al Forno, which showed up hot, cheesy, and very much not interested in being subtle. Comfort food doing the absolute most -- baked, sauced, and bubbling like it knew it was the right choice. One would think "Boiled eggs in pasta?", but trust me, the bechamel sauce takes it to the next level. Ms. J. went for the daily special: Radiatori in Cartoccio, cooked inside a sealed pocket of aluminum foil and opened tableside like a little pasta reveal. Steamy, aromatic, and frankly a bit of a showoff -- in the best possible way. And then there was the Tiramisu. We shared it (heroically), and I'm just going to say it: top-tier tiramisu. Not too sweet, beautifully balanced, rich without being heavy -- one of the best we've had in NYC, and we do not make that claim lightly. We both love tiramisu. We both judge tiramisu. This one passed with stars. Zero nonsense, big flavors, and a tradition that continues to age very well. We'll be back. Obviously. ‍

My husband arrived at 7:04 PM. The food was not ready. He was repeatedly told vague timelines ("a little while," then 7:15 PM), none of which were accurate. The manager disappeared into the kitchen, leaving him waiting with no updates. By 7:48 PM, after over 40 minutes, he left without the food. During that wait, other customers were seated, served, finished their meals, paid, and left -- all while two simple sandwiches could not be produced. I spoke directly with the manager twice. Instead of taking responsibility, he argued about the pickup time, minimized the delay, and only offered excuses and after-the-fact store credit. No proactive communication. No apology. No basic follow-through. Delays happen. This level of disorganization and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Order takeout elsewhere if you value your time.

I also took home a side order of escarole, sauteed in olive oil and garlic, and grated Parmesan on the side. The Chicken Scarpariello ($37 w/option ) is great and quite filling. The Chicken is coming from the thighs as best I can determine and is chopped up with a few bones that can be handled with a knife and fork. I would definitely order this always on the bone for flavor. You have the boneless option, but go with the bone. The cherry hot peppers add a definitive kick, above Fra Diavolo level, but nothing anyone cannot handle. The sausage was overcooked, but the potatoes were spot on. The red sauce, ziti and Parmesan calmed the moderate heat down if anyone is concerned. The escarole was a good accompaniment, but the spice level overwhelmed the wine with this dish. By the way, I can now confirm this $48 Montepulciano is of the Sangiovese varietal from Montepulciano D.O.C. The Chicken Scarpariello with the added option is also a more fulfilling meal than the Veal Martini and I can understand why it is a leading dish on the menu at Enzo's. I find it to be equally good too, so no downgrade in the rating. It highlights the consistency of the dishes served by the kitchen with steady chefs over the years. Marcello, my server, told no lies. The Double Cut Pork Chop ($33) was a bit more satisfying and delicious. It's thick, about two inches or more thick. They trimmed most of the fat, but left enough for added flavor. Notice the darkened color of the fat trim that has been seared and caramelized. Yum! The thick chop is cooked all the way through, but it's not tough or challenging to cut. It's still juicy and somewhat tender inside, with the added juice and flavor of the sauce. Over the escarole and pasta with garlic and dusted with Parmesan for that pop, your palate is in for a most satisfying experience. The Double Cut Pork Chop is one of those dishes that will keep people coming to Enzo's. It also paired better with the wine, given the heat from the hot cherry peppers was less pronounced and not overwhelming for the relatively low tannin and low acidity wine. I have had Sangiovese that drink a lot bigger and don't even mention the Brunellos. Enzo's of Williamsbridge is not overcharging in my opinion. They could have increased prices more on account of inflation, but they have not. Their loyal patrons would balk of they did. The dishes on the menu generally range from the high twenties to high thirties for generous servings. Wines by the bottle are reasonably priced and I can see why one would take your family here or take someone on a date here with the quality and value proposition served up consistently since 1998. Enzo's is a go to restaurant for many loyal patrons. I would and will return easily and can give Enzo's high marks. Just seat me inside the main dining room next time please. 4.0 very solid and consistent stars!
