Service: 10/10 The employees were very friendly. They were kind and had a nice smile on their face. That is what customers should be looking for when being approached by waiters or waitresses. They were very helpful with the menu option. Food: 10/10 I started with their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Man! It was delicious. The whipped cream, by the way, is optional. It does not automatically come with the hot chocolate. The texture was just right. I picked a good day to drink hot chocolate. I have also ordered their standard Belgian Waffles with a side of sausage. I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with the quantity of the waffle. They only give you one. Additionally, you'd have to ask for the butter. Butter does not automatically come with the waffles. The syrup is or at least should already be on the table once you're seated. Even though I only got one waffle, it was delicious. Furthermore, you have the option to add whipped cream to the waffles. They will add the whipped cream to the waffles for you. The same can be applied to pancakes. When all is said and done, they will offer you a blow-pop lollipop. Overall 9.5/10 I will be back. I am unsure if they do reservations. It wouldn't be surprising if they did. Their menu options and pricing were reasonable.

Food Ordered - Samoa Pancakes - These pancakes were a special the restaurant had for the month and they tasted identical to a delicious Samoa Girl Scout cookie. I asked for no sour cream) The omelette was HUGE, definitely great for sharing. The omelette was fluffy and filled with the perfect amount of bacon. The avocado and tomato on top were very fresh. - Eggs & Bacon - Eggs and bacon are a classic combo to order. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the bacon was thick and salty. Evidently they are famed far and wide for their pancakes, which are quite delicious. I actually prefer more texture in mine, with a bit of crisp from the butter/griddle, but you will not be sad about eating these. That said, I truly enjoyed almost everything else more. This is not a knock on them in any way, but a compliment to their kitchen that all their food is interesting and delicious. To wit: The Thai Cobb salad has the base of a classic, but with the heat and the acid of a proper som tum. The KFC wings are everything I wanted them to be. I ate way too many. The Mushroom Reuben Quesadilla (pastrami-spiced portobello!) actually evokes the flavors of a reuben, and may just have been my favorite bite of the evening. I rolled with a katsu club sandwich for my main, and it was outstanding, although I may even have liked the tuna melt more. I was too full for dessert, but I think everyone around the table enjoyed theirs. The staff is uniformly friendly, welcoming, on top of their shit, and honestly, just so cool. They made us feel at home, and got us everything we needed and more. This is a gem. Maybe I won't wait seven years to try the next trendy spot.

Archie's Tap & Table is operating on an entirely different level from the typical City Island…read morerestaurant scene. This is not your standard seafood shack or casual neighborhood spot. The chef comes from the world of high-end NYC dining, and you can feel that experience in every detail of the food. There's a level of creativity, precision, and thoughtfulness here that honestly feels Michelin-worthy. This makes sense, because the restaurant has earned that recognition. Beyond the food, Archie's also has one of the best Scotch and whiskey (bourbon and rye included) selections anywhere in the area. It feels curated by people who genuinely care about food and drink, not just running another restaurant. We eat there often, especially for brunch, which is spectacular and consistently better than it has any right to be for a neighborhood spot on City Island. The best example of the attention to detail was the chopped cheese sandwich special. When it arrived, my first thought was: "How is anyone supposed to eat this giant thing?" But then you take a bite and realize the bread was custom made specifically for the sandwich. Somehow it completely melts in your mouth along with the meat and cheese, making this enormous sandwich unexpectedly delicate and perfectly balanced. It's the kind of detail most restaurants would never even think about. Archie's is a true hidden gem and proof that truly exceptional food can exist in places you wouldn't expect.

After searching TikTok ("I love TikTok down!" lol), I came across Harlem Breakfast Club. I grabbed my family's orders and walked a few blocks from my aunt's house to this wonderful Black-owned establishment. First thing to know: this is takeout only. They have 2-3 chairs if you want to sit while waiting, and they only allow about five people inside at a time. That said, they move the food out pretty quickly, so the system works. As for service, it's New York, so while they're serving delicious down-south-style food, don't expect down-south hospitality. The young lady taking orders seemed distracted by her phone, and I felt like she wasn't fully following my order since she had to come back twice to confirm it. I ordered the French toast with eggs and beef sausage, plus two orders of the sautéed shrimp and grits. The food was freaking delicious. My family and I tore it up! Everything was packed with flavor and just downright good. Definitely worth trying if you're in Harlem and want flavorful breakfast food.

At last, I've decided to stop by this time around & actually buy a quick bite to munch on before taking the train today. The Pancake (杨记鲜椒饼) is located inside a newer but smaller food court called YF Square. Shares space with two other booths inside, Xiaowei Mala Yabo + Nuanxin Rice Roll. Gotta check those booths out another time. I was informed by staff that The Pancake has only been here for two months, so it's still fairly new & thus a warm welcome to the Flushing neighborhood! Staff greeted customers warmly with a smile as you started ordering one of those savory pancakes (or Chinese/Guizhounese-styled arepas for short) when getting up to the counter. Service was super fast, in fact there wasn't anyone else at that moment. Not sure if they were accepting credit/debit cards as payment, but it's always a good idea to carry some cash with you. I noticed that there was Spanish wording of translation written underneath each of the pancake flavors. I hardly ever see Spanish translation on the menu at a Chinese takeaway place on Main Street. To say the least, I was very impressed with that small detail right there. Later on, I found out and learned that the new business was run by a Chinese family with a Dominican son-in-law hence some of the Spanish wording. There're just 6 different types of pancakes like chicken, beef, pork, plain, cheese, and scallion. For starters, I went with cheese to see how I was liking it without any meat inside. The cheese filling was gooey but not melted enough for me because I was hoping it would be more melted in a way. Still tasty nevertheless. Not too fulfilling nor too heavy which was quite surprising to me since it'd cheese to begin with. Size/portion wise made a great snack or an enjoyable meal for under $10. Super affordable! Hopefully they'll do really well! Crispy shell on the outside, soft + moist filling on the inside! I would definitely keep going back to try other flavors like the chicken.
