I think this is roast pork on my sandwich to the workers please keep customers first it's not all about the money

What I asked for when I placed my cake order 3 weeks ago.

If I could give zero stars, I really would!!!! 3 weeks ago, my family and I ordered a baptism cake from this bakery to be picked up today and honestly, I'm appalled at how horribly this cake was done. First, if you're not able to execute what a customer is asking you to do, then be honest. Secondly, if a customer is not satisfied with the work that wasn't done, then you should offer the customer a refund. Thirdly, why lie to the customer that you didn't have a picture to go by, but clearly when you compare the original picture to what was actually executed, you could tell that they were taking elements from the pic that was submitted when the order was placed. Do NOT waste your time giving your business to this bakery!

Oatmeal w/ milk

I loooove Oatmeal :-D !! And it feels good to find a place that still considers it breakfast. Other than that, this bakery makes it with cinnamon and super thick. So, ask for milk with it. No, its not the steel-oats, just regular quaker. *always a long line *small inside * Hispanic owned .... the cashier gave me the dirtiest $1 bills . I just put it in the tip box. Actual dirt was on it-- as if someone stepped on .

Empanada

On my third return trip here, I got three empanadas: cheese, chicken and beef. The cheese although not melted inside, was warm and tasted good. The chicken was a bit dry but it could've been worse. The beef was good. The dough was descent, sort of like a cross between bread and pie crust dough. If I remember, they were around $1.50 each. I also got a tres leche slice. Really good and not overly sweet. It only cost me $2.75. I also got a pineapple upside down cake slice and good as well. To wash it all down, I got a large cafe con leche. Piping hot, I expected it to be latin strong. But it wasn't. Hey it was only $2.50 and passable. If you like Mcdonald's coffee, then you'll like it. Like other reviews, the service is fast and pleasant. They do speak English, so don't hesitate to stop by here if you're nearby. The prices are right, the items are descent and the cakes are yummy! Open 24 hours!

The cakes are super dry and tasteless. You can tell they are not fresh. Cheesecake is pretty bad too, overly sweet and again no flavor. The person who helped us was also not friendly. Not sure why there are so many good reviews, all three of us got different things and were equally disappointed, we will not return.

Behold The Entrance To Dominican Cake Greatness !!! lol

Thanks to fellow Yelpers, I found this local gem and am happy to provide it with positive review. I do my cardio walk from Fort Lee NJ into Washington Heights/Bronx on a regular basis and I know Washington Heights would be able fulfill my Dominican Cake fix lol The service was friendly and even with a little English barrier the woman was sweet and helpful when I entered. She even let me sample Tres Leches Cake because I told her that was one of my faves which was also Great OMG !!!! I ordered a slice of Dominican Cake which I had been craving for months and it was Amazing !! not the best I ever had but still extremely good. I would definitely be back to try other things they sell because everything looks so fresh and tasted that way as well. .

The fresh bread and pastries.

Margon - Cuban sandwich

Sometimes you don't need a fancy reservation... you just need a tiny spot, loud kitchen, and food…read morethat hits like a heavyweight champ. Walked into Margon Restaurant in Midtown and instantly felt like I found one of NYC's secret cheat codes. Small space, big flavors, zero nonsense. The kind of place where you're elbow-to-elbow with strangers but everyone's united by one thing... serious hunger. Ordered the Cuban sandwich -- pressed, crispy, loaded with roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard. One bite in and I stopped talking... which never happens. This thing didn't just deliver... it showed up early and over-prepared. Then came La Bandera Dominicana Braised beef swimming in savory gravy, yellow rice piled like a mountain, black beans doing their thing, and sweet maduros sitting on top like the victory flag. Simple. Comforting. Dangerous... because now I want it every week. Place gets busy, gets loud, gets chaotic... but it moves like a well-oiled machine. Years of experience and zero attitude. Just good people making great food. In a neighborhood full of tourist traps, this hole-in-the-wall is throwing haymakers. Sometimes the best escape in NYC isn't a rooftop... It's a Cuban sandwich and a plastic tray. And honestly... I'd pick that every time. #nycfood #hiddennyc #midtowneats

There were lots of choices available - we chose the fried chicken chunks and the Cuban sandwich. All were very tasty - would have been awesome if the chicken pieces were boneless but it was still good regardless. We were able to sit down and ate the food there to keep it nice and fresh.

Wagner was great a wonderful personality and he made sure everything was to our liking checking on us periodically. I have been here before (the first time we did assorted appetizers) so but this time I dove into the dinner menu. The oxtail pasta was absolutely lovely, the meat was tender and delicately seasoned. I had the steak (I prefer my steak more on the well side) and the chef managed to keep it positively tender and juicy. Perched on top of a few slices of fried casava slices and a small side salad. You can never leave without trying the flan it's one of the best I have ever had. Service was quick and food was bought to us piping hot. The only down side is they oddly don't make pina coladas (it's the only thing I drink) and the restaurant was a bit too cold but other than that it was a lovely birthday dinner for my friend. Buena Vista is small and popular so I strongly suggest you make reservations if you plan on eating here.

Short on time, with just 40 minutes to dine, we thought we'd be wise to limit ourselves to starters and drinks. Greedily, though, we asked our server Carlos if he thought we had enough time for entrees. He said let's try! Trusting his wisdom and his consultation with the kitchen, we ordered the beet salad plus the langostino ravioli and the Chilean sea bass. To drink we had a strawberry martini and the guava and basil margarita. Every morsel was delectable. All of the dishes were colorful and interesting and robust with complex flavors and textures. The fish was cooked perfectly, light on the tongue. My daughter did ask for an adjustment to her drink upon first sip, and they accommodated graciously. We enjoyed our meals at an easy pace, got the check while finishing our drinks, paid via QR code, and made it to the show with 15 minutes to spare, satiated and satisfied. Regrettably, we didnt have time for dessert. So, good reason to go back SOON.

It's spacious and there are lots of tables and seating for large groups. There were only a few other patrons at the tables but at the counter I could tell from conversations a group of regulars. It's the kind of place that's definitely a neighborhood meet up spot. My server said I could sit wherever I wanted. I ordered black coffee and mangu with fried salami. I wanted sustenance and stick to your rib kinda food as I had a long day ahead in the nasty weather. The menu offered lots of choices. My food took about 15 mins to arrive. I wasn't in a rush . My mangu was prepared fresh, I could tell by the lingering steam that maintains its vigor till the last morsel. The pickled onions were really done nicely- the perfect amount to acidity I enjoy . My salami was not overly salty . I really felt like cuddling up in a blanket and staying in after that comforting homemade meal . I'm going to come back to try ptjer items when I'm in the area again. My server was attentive and checked on me several times. Overall a great experience. One thing to note is that tje bathrooms are located down a very steep flight of stairs and there no elevator, so access is limited.
