a cake and balloons

I'm a regular here! I live in the BX and if I need any baked goods this is my go to place. I don't mind the commute (10-15) and they are in a high traffic but convenient area, just a block from the GWB terminal station. My current and previous co-workers love their food. They are open before the morning shift starts, so you can always stop there before the start of your shift and get some baked bread filled with your choice of ham and cheese, or just cheese. Those go quick. Anything you need:cake, Spanish oatmeal Avena (it's drinkable), empanadas (patellitos), quipes (fried wheat balls filled with meat), croquets, guava and cheese pastries, flan, Awesome Tres leche Dominican cakes! They make any cake for any occasion with your choice of American or Dominican cake, with merengue frosting or fondant.

Line for food but it goes fast

Steamed coffee muy pronto! The concha bread is light and frosted with sugar deliciously. The staff is so friendly in English and Spanish. They lack horrible service, in my opinion, as well! The line gets long at meal times -- because it is so good! Plan accordingly!

By the ice cream is where the friends of the place skip the line. The group of people you see at the back is where the actual line is.

To go to this bakery you have to have an extra supply of patience. The service is terrible! You could be on the line but if someone they know comes in after you they scream their order from the back of the line and get their order before you even have a chance to order. They get mad if anyone says anything. Every customer is not worth the same in this place. The prices have gone up and the pastelitos are dry. Not worth the headache. There's other bakery's in the area that are better.

Roommates birthday cake ordered 2 hours prior. So beautiful! And DELICIOUS

My favorite dominican cakes always come from here. Past two years i have been ordering cakes for my birthday, my friends' birthdays, cookouts you name it i bring cake and bring it from here. Careful they are always full and require in person orders for cakes but i have yet to be disappointed by anything i have ordered here. I just wish ordering by phone were acceptable. When i order in person though NY cakes are ready a couple hours later so they also do not need a ton of time of anticipated notice which is great for those last minute orders. I will continue coming here for as long as i live in the area and recommend it to others.

I love coming to this bakery because, it's covinient and their prices are reasonable.Often times there is a line however as others have mentioned it does move rather quickly. Thier Dominican beverage called Morir Soñando keeps me coming back every time. I see how non Spanish speakers might get frustrated unfortunately the majority of the patrons and employees are Hispanic so do not encounter such difficulty.

I feel like I bought a truly ridiculous amount of petit gateaus here to try out and share with…read morefriends and we wound up enjoying most of them, some enough to buy twice. Went to the Flatiron store both times and didn't have to wait long to order. The staff were great and packed all of the little cakes nicely so that they survived the trek back to our condo. Mango--all around favorite, wound up buying like 4 of these cause half my friends preferred it and I liked it a surprising amount Blueberry--very mild, no tartness, not too sweet with good blueberry flavor Orange--fresh and orangey in the middle, loved this one Pear--reminds me of cinnamon apples (I guess this was cinnamon pears), which isn't my favorite flavor but others enjoyed Banana--made me sad cause I LOVE banana flavored stuff and this just... wasn't? It had old tasting banana paste in the middle assuming because it's real banana and not artificial, is tiny, and didn't taste good Yuzu--nice yuzu flavor and disappeared fast Cloud--forgot the actual name and apparently didn't take a picture, it had chocolate/hazelnut mousse with some sort of caramel and something crunchy, also delicious All of the petit gateaus were on the mild side which is a big plus for me. Appearance was top notch and the balance of cream to filling on point. I'd like to try some of the other pastries next time for sure.

Bread treats were decent not too different from other bakeries. The fruit and mushroom cakes were…read moredelicious, I enjoyed a lot more than I expected. Not too sweet and a good balance. Not too sure if I would say it's a must stop at but it's a great choice if you've never had these type of desserts before. The inside doesn't have many tables and it was pretty busy when I went, so I wouldn't expect to get a seat every time you come here.

I will say that I didn't think I would like this cookie at all since usually I like thinner crunchier cookies. But holy cow!! I was blown away by the crispy edges and the interior wasn't too soft gooey either. The chocolate and walnuts added to the cookie enhanced the flavor even more! For such a big cookie the middle was cooked perfectly. Very chunky and sizable cookie too so I ate it throughout the day rather than one sitting!!

They are on the thicker side yet so incredibly soft on the inside and have a perfect crisp on the outer edges, top, and bottom!! Demitri was so kind and accommodated for my complicated and long order! I definitely recommend the Dark Chocolate Chip Cookie, it was so rich in flavor! The Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookie was not too sweet as the walnuts were the perfect balance! I think this is for people who are not too big on chocolate chips in their cookie. The Coconut Caramel cookie reminded me of a Samoa! You can taste all the coconut in the cookie and it was delicious! The Sticky Bun was so soft as well! 10/10!
