We had Minnie's cakes at our wedding, and couldn't have been more thrilled with our choice. After settling on the Harney's Paris Tea Cake, the logistics for completing the order were straightforward and efficient: she emailed me an invoice to confirm the order and pickup date, then followed up shortly with a PayPal link for easy payment. There was light rain on the day of pickup and when Cathy brought down the cake, it was bubble wrapped for safe transport, then covered in plastic bags to keep dry. As she recommended during our call, the cake was frozen as we wouldn't be eating it until hours later. Presentation-wise, their cakes are truly a work of art. Despite having shuffled around Manhattan for a few hours, we opened the box to find a perfect layer cake without a buttercream drop out of place, topped generously with white chocolate curls and candies orange peels. As for taste: the cake itself was delicate, but moist; flavorful, but not too sweet. Wish I would have read my own review before I bought the cake. This is a lot of cake and it's delivered frozen. Instructions tell you that it should be left out for 4 to 5 hrs. before serving. I bought the 9", left it out for at least 5 hrs. and it wasn't enough. It was a little hard and not as moist as it should have been for an upscale cake. That being said, it's a beautiful cake, which with candles lite, has a WOW factor. Moving forward about 8 hrs. later, the cake was beautifully moist and delicious to the pallet. My recommendation....wait at least 7 hrs. before serving or get it unfrozen. Ooooo the seller couldn't be nicer!
