Stopped by Eileen's Special Cheesecake after seeing a lot of good reviews, and it definitely lived up to it. I'm not usually a big cheesecake person, but this was really good. We tried the marble, strawberry, and cookies & cream--honestly all solid, but the strawberry was my favorite. Portion size is on the smaller side (about the size of an egg tart), but that's pretty standard for Manhattan. Works out well anyway since you can try a few different flavors without feeling too heavy. Nice spot if you want something sweet without overdoing it.

It's hype. Not taste. At least not anymore. I looked at the cute pictures. Even my pictures I took, the cheesecake looks so scrumptious. I looked at all the articles framed on the wall. Maybe it USED TO be God's gift to man. I got suckered. The mini cheesecakes were flavorless. Shocking, even across the multiple flavors we tried. My kids didn't like these! That's how not good. Nothing to write home about. Kinda on par with grocery store cheesecake...

Super friendly guy at the counter, je was very engaging with the customers and helpful in explaining/suggesting flavors. They have a good variety of flavors to choose from. I like that cheesecake are round individual pieces as opposed to slices - they travel better . I had the Salted Caramel (popular) and the coconut. Both really good , the Salted Caramel was definitely my favorite. Texture, creamy and rich but not overly dense , sweetness level is perfect for my taste. I think they are the perfect size to satisfy a craving but not leave you feeling stuffed or uncomfortable. There is a counter if you'd like to stand and nosh or a bench outside. No bathroom. Variety of drinks available

My husband and I found this tiny dessert shop while walking around the Little Italy/Nolita area. We ordered a few small cheesecakes to go and take back to our hotel room to enjoy. They are definitely special and great-tasting. I wasn't huge on the pineapple flavor, but that is my own cheesecake preference and nothing against the cake itself. The staff was friendly and didn't rush us. No room to really eat inside except for a small stand up counter.

Soo light and delicious! Eileen's does it right without using thickeners or emulsifiers to make their famous cheesecakes and tarts. The shop is still run by Eileen's daughters and it remains a family owned business service is quick and friendly and they have a variety of cheesecakes to choose from. Definitely worth going out of your way to stop by for a treat at Eileen's.

WOW. What an amazing cheesecake! It's light, not too heavy/decadent, and the perfect amount of sweetness. I love that they sell little bites like this for those that don't want to over-indulge. They also sell whole cheesecakes and bigger slices. The store is super home-y and has limited tables inside to enjoy your cheesecake. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in NYC!

What an absolute gem to stumble upon in the lower east side wow. My friends and I were craving desserts after eating dinner in Chinatown. We found this place on Yelp and arrived here Saturday at 5pm during peak tourist season. The line was out the door, and it was packed here despite the cold rather outside. There are so many mini cheesecakes to pick from each of which is around 6-7 dollars for a small tart cheese cake about 1-2 inches in diameter. There are so many options to pick from it was so hard to decide which cheesecake I wanted to try. There is no seating inside, it's quite a small indoors and can get a bit cramped in the crowd. As we walked up to the counter there were 2 people taking orders and seeing all the cheesecake tarts in person made it even harder to decide. I ordered the creme brule cheesecake and seeing them put the topping on top made it even more enticing. My friends ordered the banana mini cheesecake and the original, and all three were great options. While there are so many options my opinion is that each is fantastic and I can't wait to come back and try more. I think I did make the right decision with the creme brûlée cheesecake which I devoured in like 3 bites. So glad to have stumbled upon this place and excited to try more.

After a quick lunch at Eataly in Soho, Eileen's Cheesecake Shoppe across the triangle park on Cleveland Place beckoned me. I must have walked past it over a dozen times, but just decided I would drop in. Tiny is the word, even for Manhattan. I like that they also cater to those looking for a small portion. That is what I got. A small cheesecake, plain. Just right for me as an individual serving in the afternoon. The manager was very accomodating. There is a small area where you can eat in. I was very happy, since I was visiting in February with day old snow on the ground outside. Compared to a popular Brooklyn cream cheese based cake, this is a much lighter cake in physical weight and texture, dare I say, airy? Much more to my liking. Not quite the same as an Italian Cheesecake. This one, I thought, was creamier in texture, if slightly sweeter. I feel everyone should experience it, so you can make up your own mind.

This is a premier cheesecake spot! Juniors who? I've heard lots of good things about this place. That people come far and wide and that they sell out quickly. Wide range of flavors as well Despite the wait (long lines at times), very helpful service It's also a small hole in the wall type of spot.

Eileen's Special Cheesecake 17 Cleveland Pl. New York, NY 10012 Strawberry Classic Plain Cookies N Cream Salted Caramel Located at the four corner intersection in SoHo is a locally owned specialty cheesecake shop that has been in business for over 50 years. All cheesecakes are handmade daily with no fillers or preservatives. Manager Amanda introduced me to four of the most popular cheesecakes on the menu. As I opened the box, my appetite was filled with joy as I knew I was going to be in for a treat. Strawberry: This pie is topped with a giant strawberry and smothered in strawberry sauce. It was unbelievably fruity and tangy. Classic Plain: This original New York cheesecake was smooth and creamy. If you want to go plain Jane, this pie has your name! Cookies N Cream: This tart was beautifully handcrafted; the mini Oreo cookie added a nice decorative touch. The chocolate graham cracker crust blended well with the cheesecake. Salted Caramel: What makes this pie unique to the others is the hardened creme brulee at the top, giving it a crunchy texture. The dining area is standing room only, but there are plenty of outdoor benches across the street at Lt. Petrosino Square. Be prepared to wait in line, but it moves pretty quickly! Overall, these cheesecakes were phenomenal and I see why this dessert shop has been around for a long time! #cheesecakelovers #eileensspecialcheesecake #eileenscheesecake #cheesecakechallenge #CookiesNCreamCheesecake #classicplaincheesecake #strawberrycheesecake #saltedcaramelcheesecake #CremeBruleeCheesecake #sohonyc

I've a huge fan of cheesecake and heard amazing things about Eileen's so I knew I had to give it a try during my New York trip. They offer a wide variety of different flavored cheesecakes but they're mini sized so it's easier to try different flavors. They have a pretty large variety of flavors so there would be something for everybody. I ordered the cookies and cream, chocolate cappuccino, salted caramel, and lemon. I was honestly impressed with all of them but my favorite had to be the salted caramel, which I'd say is a must try. The store itself is on the smaller end and is more of a to go spot, but there is a standing table if you want to enjoy your sweet treat there. Service was also friendly! Overall, I enjoyed Eileen's and would recommend it.

My nutritionist thinks I'm obese but I'm really not a sweets guy. This cheesecake was fantastic though. Tried the strawberry and cherry, 10 for the strawberry, 8 for the cherry. The lightest cheesecake I've had, juniors is good, this place is amazing.

The cheesecake at Eileen's is, without a doubt, the best cheesecake in New York City, in my humble opinion. Unlike the heavy, overly dense cakes you find elsewhere, Eileen's has a remarkably light, fluffy, and creamy texture that melts in your mouth. It's incredibly flavorful, and has a lite taste. Love that you can truly appreciate the quality of the ingredients. The individual-sized cheesecakes are perfect. I ordered strawberry, and salted caramel each individual cost $6.50 each. Customers can purchase bigger size cheesecakes, and Eileen's ship nationwide. The smaller individual cheesecakes options allow you to try multiple delicious flavors in one visit. From the classic plain, rich salted caramel, fruity strawberry, cherry, and blueberry. The shop on Cleveland Place has a cozy, old-school charm that adds to the experience, and while the space is small, if there is a line, just know, the line moves quickly thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. A visit to Eileen's is a must-do for any cheesecake lover in the city. Eileen's is a Soho must visit!

Eileen's Special Cheesecake Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Eileen's Special Cheesecake

    Do you have vegan cheesecakes?

I'm not sure because I wasn't looking for vegan cheesecakes. I suggest taking a look at menu in their website and giving them a call.

Do they have dairy free cheesecakes?

    No..

Is there a place to sit down here? Table? Chairs?

    A small seating area. Stools.

Do they make gluten free cheesecakes?

Yes, but they only have one flavor. If you ask for it they get it from the freezer wrapped. My gluten averse friend said she liked it.

I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
