What a delightful surprise! After working late and attending an event after work, one of my coworkers suggested we stop here because they loved their cookies. I had never heard of the place before, but I was happy to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels special. The store has two beautiful double doors that create such a grand entrance, and once inside, you immediately feel the energy. The place was bustling with people, and everyone seemed happy and excited -- from the customers to the team behind the counter and the baristas. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! I ended up getting the Rocky Road cookie, a Double Chocolate Chip cookie, a Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie, and a blueberry muffin to enjoy for breakfast the next morning. The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful. When I got home, I had half of the Rocky Road cookie with a cup of tea, and it was incredible. The cookie was large and chunky but still perfectly enjoyable -- not heavy or overwhelming. It literally melted in my mouth. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and every bite was just delicious. The next morning, I tried the blueberry muffin, and it was just as impressive. It was light and airy, not overly sweet like many blueberry muffins can be. It truly felt like a breakfast pastry. The blueberries tasted fresh and burst with flavor in every bite. I will definitely be back for more cookies. This was such a wonderful find, and I'm so happy my coworker introduced me to this place!

The Coconut Caramel cookie reminded me of a Samoa! You can taste all the coconut in the cookie and it was delicious! The Sticky Bun was so soft as well! 10/10!

This was a super nice bakery, with their modern wooden style interior and huge beautiful display of all their pasties, bakeries and cookie products. They also had a large variety of hot and cold drinks. In the shelves they also had their coffee and merchandise products as well. There was some seating space by both the glass windows. Our friends ordered the popular cookies set. We waited few minutes to collect the cookie box. I must say those cookies were outstanding. They were freshly baked, the chocolate filling was still melted inside. The crust and all other ingredients were also complimentary to the overall taste of the cookies. The staff members were friendly and quickly serving all customers. Overall loved the quick stop we made at this store for the delicious cookies.
As you can see from the reviews, there are a lot of people that really like these cookies, but my daughter and I both had the same conclusion. They taste like the bakery tried to do too much and maybe that is what they were going for. Not bad necessarily but not delicious either. Maybe it is the purest in me that wants my cookies to be round and somewhat flat.
Always a hit. Must tries are the Two Chip Choco Chip and the Dark Choco Chip. Pro-tip, ask for what;s fresh out and if your remotely like it, get that instead of whatever else you were thinking of. They are always baking fresh cookies so getting the freshest only will be best bet instead of reheating already cold ones.

Came for a late night bite and was really craving the ice cream which they were out of, but the men working there that night were so kind. My group got the chocolate chip cookies. What a vibe and memorable night. Ugh and the gooey delight of these thick chocolate cookies was just soooo good. The chocolate is warm, it's crunchy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. Yes, there's usually a line out the door during peak times, but don't let that turn you away--Levain Bakery is worth every second! Their cookies are enormous, served warm, crispy on the edges, and ridiculously soft in the center. After dinner I was craving a little sweet treat on our walk back to the hotel. Saw that they were on the route back and decided to swing by and order a cookie. There was a bit of a line but it moved pretty quick. I got the limited edition white chocolate macadamia cookie which was really good. I asked the cashier if they serve them warm and he said yeah. However mine wasn't. Not a big deal as it was still delicious but I can only imagine how bomb they would be if they were actually warm. Wow amazing cookies. We got the fresh one right out of the oven. Still warm and soft. It was so good. We had chocolate chip, chocolate/peanut butter, oatmeal raisins and chocolate/walnuts(?) I like all of them. Very flavorful and rich. The store is designed for take out. Only 2 tall tables on the sides. Napkins and straws on the side to grab. The staff were very friendly. Levain has been on my NYC bucket list for the longest time, and we finally made it there... but after all the hype, I can't say it lived up to our expectations. We had one at its peak outside of the store, but my husband I both looked at each other after we had a bite and wondered where the flavor was. It fell very flat for us unfortunately. It honestly was more like a scone than a cookie. We took the rest home and microwaved them to bring them back to life, but we're just shocked at the lack of flavor. Adding flaky salt on top helps. I do want to give a shoutout to the team that was working Sunday night, because they moved through the line quickly and were organized with the orders. A one and done for us though. read more

These are the best chocolate chip cookies ever. This bakery location in the Flat Iron area of NYC offers not just cookies but some baked goods, savory items and drinks. I ordered several Chocolate Chip Walnut cookies at $5.75 each and chocolate milk $3. The line was out the door for about a 15 minute wait. Once I ordered the new cookies were just coming out of the oven so I waited another few minutes. It is worth it. The counter service girl was very nice. We enjoyed every bite. read more

If I were in death row and could choose a last item to eat, Levain cookies are very high on the contender list! This is cookie heaven for those of us who prefer a soft baked cookie rather than thin crispy ones. They're more like soft mounds and since they're baked nonstop, they come out warm and always fresh. I was in a "treat yoself" kinda mood so in top of the half a dozen cookies I ordered to go, I also got a Levain a la mode, which comes with your choice of cookie and a big scoop of ice cream. Sharing is optional, but you won't want to. I went with the original (and my favorite) double chip cookie and although there were lots of people in there, I couldn't hear a thing in the 5 minutes it took for me to devour my delicious treat. Don't be alarmed by the line, it moves fast. Calories don't even count because you're likely walking miles to get to your next destination! read more

This Flatiron District location is the newest location of Levain Bakery, home of giant cookies. It's similar to the other locations in design and setup. Their locations are mostly just a counter to order takeout. I've had cookies from other locations, and this one offers the same great taste and freshness. Their cookies are the largest I have ever had, but are moist and not hard. I'd recommend first to try the Chocolate Chip Walnut flavor. This is their original cookie and the most popular one. In my opinion, it is easily the best one. Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Chip is another good flavor. read more
