The dessert here is so inviting and pretty. Especially the mousse based ones that look like fruits. I got the mango, orange, and the one that looks like a mushroom. The orange has a base made of chocolate Rice Krispies. All of them have more fruity filling than the mousse. They are very fragile. I recommend eating there if you can. Finding can be a challenge because it's busy and there aren't many seats. I got mine to go just to be taken to the park across the street . The mushroom kind are totally ruined. It has strawberriy jelly and it was a mess. The orange one was almost ruined too. The mango has some diced mangoes. I devoured three of them instantly. Definitely come back to try more. read more

Yummmy!!! What a cute and unique dessert boutique! So many choices but what makes this place stand out are its adorable and colorful mousse delicacies. The inside was packed with folks! There was no place to sit down because of how busy it was but the staff kept the line moving quick enough. The place still seemed reasonably stocked with their desserts and treats, despite the late afternoon time that I arrived. I ordered 4 different treats to go and they're packed in small box individually. Unfortunately, they didn't quite stay intact during my trek back to my hotel and were tumbled around in the boxes. Nonetheless, the taste and flavors held up well and even after a few days in the fridge. The yuzu daisy has this vivid pastel yellow-pink base and adorable gelatinous yellow gem atop a white flower. The yuzu gives a subtle infusion of tart that is balanced out by the light delicate skin texture of the rest. Sitting atop a thin round rice crispy. I loved the red mushroom one which is a creamy pink mousse inside the cap. The stalk is a thin porcelain-white chocolate light base also filled with a rich cream. Adjacent are two cute little tree nuts. The orange and mango have such vivid colors and are aesthetically pleasing too. Just like the previous ones, their delicate chocolate exterior houses a rich tarty mousse-y filling. I think the mushroom has a better balance and variety of flavors. Although I don't eat mousse treats often, I look forward to trying some of the other ones in the future, like the blueberry, banana and cloud. read more

Salswee is a solid dessert shop in NYC that lived up to the hype for us! I've been to Salswee twice now and thought it was consistent through both visits. I originally saw them on several IG and TT videos with desserts that resembled fruits. In terms of the store itself, the desserts are up front and to the right of you in display cases as you make your way to the cashier. The line is always pretty quick moving and easy to order and the pricing is also not too bad. The cafe itself is modern and includes some other options like pastries and coffee (unfortunately haven't tried those). I've ordered the banana, yuzu, and mango. The mango was delightful as well as the banana. Love how the desserts aren't overly sweet and layered as well as decorative. There are some tables/seats inside although it can get pretty busy. We ended up taking the desserts to go and eating it at the park across the street. Overall, think Salswee is well worth a look. Was one of our favorite dessert spots in town. read more

This is my third time going and I have to say I finally got the right desert the third time. Shared pics from all 3. Hands down the best thing to try is the mango (so flavorful and some parts feel cold like ice cream) and I also really liked the pistachio. Cloud is safe, Not too sweet and it's soft mousse. Salswee has one of the best takes on these fruit-shaped desserts I have tried. A lot of places are doing similar concepts now, but this is the one that really stands out. The execution is just better across the board. I have tried the mushroom, orange, mango, and banana, and the orange and mango were easily my favorites. Crafted as a white flower perched on a meringue pouffe and a rice crispy base, the interior was soft, delicate, and sweet, with a nice sharp tang from the citrus coulis. Honestly, I was disappointed. I came here with my friend the first thing that sucked which isn't their fault is that they had limited flavors which I'm assuming it's because they sold out of them. However the flavors we did get we don't feel they were properly refrigerated as they were sweating .There were also cracks in the fruit we got. We did take pictures at angles in which you couldn't see the imperfections. Between me and my friend we were not fans of the flavors. We got blueberry, cloud, and I forgot the name of the flower one. I think it's possible our expectations and what these desserts are supposed to be are misaligned but generally we were just disappointed. Came here late evening and their mango was all sold out. They had limited amounts of other items as well. Someone in front of us got the last Orange. By the time I got to the register, I got the last Pear (there were 2 when I entered). Plenty of the other ones left (see my pics). I took the Pear and Cloud cake home and the Pear one broke. They are fragile, so be careful transporting. I didn't think I would enjoy the Cloud one that much, but the praline center was really good and had me going for more bites. They are quite expensive pastries, carefully crafted and visually pleasing. Good for me to try once, but I wouldn't buy them on a regular basis. Very pretty like a boat, the large croissant had a thick white chocolate matcha bar down the middle unlike anything I'd ever quite seen with matcha croissants before. The texture reminded me of a Costco croissant. On the other hand, this inspired me to just add or repurpose flavored creams to my Costco croissants for a cheaper DIY simulacrum. Clearly the main draw of Salswee is the bright fruit-like patisserie. They did look very delicate and quite the work of art.
