Since working around the corner, I come here at least once a week. I usually panic order the sea bass wrap since it always hits with that pressed grill marks and chipotle mayo. We had a meal for 12 for a boat ride catered here. Figuring out the catering was more work than it should have been (hard to figure out their menu and their prices, and the first person we talked to was really not helpful). But, after we got it figured out, the service was well over 5 stars -- everything we needed was included, very well organized, and raves from all my guests over the food. We would do it again, the next time we need catering. (We don't live in NYC, so it might be while, unfortunately). I'm 4 days into my new job and I've had Feast on Us 3 of those days. Not only does Feast on Us have the closest proximity to my office, they're also the fastest place (of the two places I've tried). Every day, they have a a few different entrees, sides, and sandwiches to choose from. There doesn't seem to be a big variety or much change day to day, so it could get old fast if you only know two restaurants by your office. I really enjoyed the sea bass (all three times I had it this week). I'd go pasta over quinoa but I'm not big on quinoa. I was tempted to try the asparagus but, pasta. Wow! We were just walking by and saw a few people waiting on line to decided to check it out. The service was great and they helped us with all of our questions. They aren't normally open on a weekend but for some reason decided to open today. We ordered a sea bass entree and a mozzarella eggplant sandwich, both come with a sauce and a bed of kale salad that was so refreshing. Woah I'm so glad that I decided to try this spot over my usual Sweetgreen. First off, the food selections are so fresh and healthy and delicious. I had a full filet of blackened cod over a bed of kale for $12 (!!!!). Second, the food is not only delicious and healthy but inexpensive for what you get. They are so generous with their huge servings - I always order the grilled sea bass and two sides (eg pesto rice, salad, grilled veggies) with a lemonade and a little chocolate brownie that they'll throw in for smiles. I know they are also a catering company, but I can't speak to the project management element of their business that would be required for catering - but I have great things to say about this as a casual lunch spot not far from The Whitney. There is one indoor table and another one or two outside. Counter service makes this a great casual spot. I found the $12 sandwich / side to be a great treat. The flavor was great (I had prime rib) and portions were certainly enough for fuel a long afternoon in the city. The staff is friendly and service was prompt. The breakdown: As a freelancer (or contractor) I can be hired by different types of clients for a day, a few days or a week. Why all of these different clients have decided to use Feast on Us for breakfast AND lunch, I don't know. Is it because they provide multiple options for every meal? Maybe. Is it because they are on time every time? Probably. Is it because the food at least pretends to be healthy? Ya, that can't hurt. Is it because it's the best food ever? No. Certainly not. It's catering. But as someone who has tried just about everything they make, it's not half bad. The veggies could be a little less greasy, the brownies always need to be cooked a little bit longer and I could definitely use some whole grains in the AM. like brown rice or oatmeal, but the breakfast burritos aren't bad and the desserts are amazing.
