We were searching for a caterer for our special event and I…read morecame across Adrii's Kitchen. What really piqued my interest was Chef Adrii's background, she's Guyanese and Puerto Rican. My partner's family is Guyanese as well. I was so thrilled to try her food that I reached out to see if she could do a sample tasting for us. I was ecstatic when she obliged. I wanted the tasting to be enough for two people. We decided to try the Chopped Cheese Empanada, Spinach & Cheese Empanada, Baked Chicken, Mild Shrimp Rasta Pasta, and Fried Whiting. We were charged $40 + tax + delivery fee. We ended up spending $49.52 which could be considered the price you pay for takeout. Nonetheless we were counting down the days until the food was delivered. Chef Adrii called to let me know that the store ran out of whiting so she suggested flounder because it had a similar texture. The packaging of our order was nice and it was adorned with flowers. I couldn't wait to try the food because everything looked and smelled good. We started off with the chopped cheese empanada which we couldn't taste the filling just the Turkey bacon. Maybe if the Turkey bacon was chopped smaller and there was more of a Bbq flavor incorporated into the ground Turkey we would've been able to taste the filling. The upside was that the empanada was crunchy which we liked. The spinach empanada was pretty tasty. The spinach was sautéed perfectly, but the empanada itself was on the oily side. We tried the baked chicken which was lackluster in taste. It was on the drier side and could've used more seasoning. We asked for mild Shrimp Rasta pasta, but it was extremely spicy. We both enjoy spicy food, but my hunny definitely has a better tolerance than I do. He even commented on how spicy it was. The shrimp was overcooked. We weren't thrilled with the fried founder. It was flaky and didn't have the same texture as fried whiting. Also I'm not a fan of citrusy flavors. The fish was too lemony for my liking. If I would've known she used lemon in her recipe I wouldn't have agreed to the fried flounder. Overall, I would have given this place a second chance under different circumstances. It's unfortunately we won't be able to.

The portions were very large and the food was totally gourmet! After having it for dinner with my girlfriend at night, I loved it so much that I had the leftovers for lunch the following day :) The packaging was very chic and the instruction cards were a great touch - it made for a thrill of a night in. In addition, the delivery was extremely safe with regards to COVID. Thanks Big Bob for the mouth-watering meal!

Not only were the short ribs absolutely scrumptious, but the chicken cacciatore made me tingle inside more than a 7th grade boy asking out his middle school crush. Oh and you thought I was done? Big Bob's proprietary green Mac and cheese was so good it made my 94 year old grandma sing "Hallelujah" by the Jonas Brothers and sing prayers for the birth of Big Bob himself, praising his existence on planet earth. The largest meal in North America was worth every penny. If it would be helpful to anyone reading this review, I would be happy to speak further on Big Bob's Cooking in any capacity. They helped us quickly plan the food for our cocktail hour and reception while adhering to numerous dietary preferences (from vegan to kosher to our picky eaters) and helping us formulate our vision for a "floating dinner." Our point person, Scott Parrish, was incredible. Patient, experienced, wise, insightful, helpful, Scott was incredibly consultative throughout the process and the results were fantastic. To start, the food was divine. Ultimately, what's more important than food?! Especially at a Jewish wedding. Thomas Preti is creative and serves up some incredible food from bite-sized appetizers like crab cakes and cacio e pepe bites, to chicken and waffles or short rib tacos paired with a shot of pomegranate vodka. We particularly loved their drink/food pairings like their "vodka latke" bar with latkes and of course, ice cold shots of vodka. With the food being delicious, all that's left is the presentation (10 out of 5 starts) and execution (20 out of 5 stars). The staff of Thomas Preti is wonderful. Attentive, professional, thoughtful and efficient. The food was plentiful and delicious, the staff were delightful. Word to the wise, do not sleep on the desserts; I'm still dreaming about their summer berry tartlet and the milkshake mug with a mini donut. I wish everyday of my life could be catered by Thomas Preti. We're so pleased with them and couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

What can I say about Golden Terrace that hasn't already been mentioned in these reviews????…read more If you're looking to host a formal or classy event, this is NOT the place. The venue allows overpowering, loud, basement-jam style parties that completely ruin any attempt at a sophisticated celebration. This venue is NOT for anyone wanting an elegant or meaningful event. GO TO RUSSO'S ON THE BAY, VILLA RUSSO, ASTORIA MANOR OR EVEN ANTUN'S. YOU'LL THANK ME LATER!!!!! We recently hosted my father's 75th birthday party at this venue, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The music from the party being held on the other side of the hall was so overpowering that it completely drowned out our celebration. We could not hear our own music, our toasts, or even basic conversations at our tables. This was supposed to be a milestone event, and instead it felt overshadowed and disorganized because of the lack of sound control. The venues contact person "Roopi" unsuccessfully attempted to get the DJ to lower his sound equipment. After the event my family felt some sort of reparations were in order. When we brought this concern to "Roopi", she claimed she would speak with management. After a week of going back and forth, we discovered "Roopi" was in fact the manager all along and had been dishonest and stringing us along pretending to be talking to management. Not only did she give us a runaround, but when we returned to the venue to follow up, she was dismissive, rude, and continued to make excuses rather than take responsibility. She also denied any affiliation with the DJ whose music overpowered our event, which was clearly untrue. The lying, lack of accountability, and unprofessional behavior left us feeling disrespected and deceived. What should have been a joyful, once-in-a-lifetime milestone for my father turned into a frustrating and upsetting experience. I cannot recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for professionalism, honesty, or proper event management. Roopi is a snake!! I wish I thoroughly read through reviews before booking this venue because her rudeness and unprofessionalism is mentioned over and over again!!!
