Rosa Morelli, the proprietor of Rosa's Italian Restaurant just happens to also be Our friends Mother-in-law so we all knew that we were in store for something special. Needless to say, the food was great. We started off with some fantastic and delicious appetizers, including a variety of homemade potato pizza (really good), prosciutto and mozzeralla, bruschetta, eggplant caponata, plus fruit and a variety of other tasty treats. The entrees (all served family style) including pappardelle with sausage in cream sauce, chicken francese, grilled shrimp over bracolli rabe and fusilli with vodka sauce. Amazing meal and Rosa and family could not have been nicer. Rosa's is a BYOB and there is street parking only. It is located less than a mile away from the Willowbrook Mall. By request, there was not too much meat served tonight because of the religious holiday (ash Wednesday). We ended the meal with some Italian pastries, a celebratory cake commemorating the occasion and tartufo. A great evening with long time friends and good food. Interesting note about Rosa's Italian Restaurant and Caterer. This restaurant is not generally open to the public. It is not a walk in restaurant. If you would like to come to Rosa's you have to pre-schedule your dinner in advance with at least 8 or more people (up to 40 according to Rosa) and Rosa will accommodate you. You can discuss selected entrees if you like but generally the meal will consist of the dishes that Rosa is making that day. That meal will consist of a large variety of great dishes prepared for your group and served family style. This is a very cool dining experience in a old school Italian neighborhood restaurant. Nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. Like eating at your Italian grandmothers house. You can contact Rosa at (973) 785-9177. Bon appetito!!! 02/26/2020

Even though I am a Louis Prima fan (sorry for the obscure reference) the bone to meat ratio just doesn't make up for the higher fat content. At least for me. This guys ribs changed that. You don't eat these ribs so much as you hold them up and allow the meat to dive into your mouth like an Olympian off the 10 meter platform. They are that good. And I have eaten enough brisket in my life that writing a review including a reference to pork is probably something I shouldn't do publicly, but his is top notch. Lastly, I come on this site and often see reviews regarding the personal nature of the proprietor of the business, which are sometimes so vicious and misplaced, it is not a mystery why the writers of South Park want to feed some of the members of this site what they want to feed them. To that end, if you have a problem with either Dan or his staff, I would have to say that the problem is most likely with you. They couldn't be nicer, more courteous and helpful.
