Yummy in my tummy. Ever since my 1st order I crave their chicken wings. Something about those well seasoned wings with that perfect crunch that I can't get enough of. My 2nd favorite are the fried pork chops. There's not too many places in Brooklyn that you can get fried pork chops from a soul food restaurant, it's just as flavorful as the wings. Location reopened under new ownership. Ordered my favs the register price was different from the menu and posted price. I asked why and was told it was the tax. $2 tax on $25 excessive. But when I got my final receipt there was tax on the entire order in the amount $4.88 on $52.50 which included the $27 price of the item. On a recent trip to Brooklyn, I made may way to Bedford Stuyvesant aka Do or Die Bed Stuy to a highly recommended spot called Top Tier Catering on the corner of Decatur and Saratoga. It's a strictly take out spot. It's small but good things come in small packages. Touted as luxury southern cuisine, it lives up to this claim. Ordered 2 large oxtails, and the lamb chop special in chili sauce. Meals come with two sides each. So I got a assortment. Greens (with smoked turkey) and rice and peas, garlic mashed potatoes, mac and cheese. The proteins were superior. The oxtail was cooked as oxtail should, to the point where it fell off the bone. The lamb was tender. The chili sauce was yummy and sticky and set off the already flavorful lamb. The mac and cheese was good for the mac and cheese purists like me. Tenders noodles with a good flavorful cheese. Gooey but not oily. Another favorite was the rice and peas. Now if you take the oxtail juices and put them on that rice. Life changing.
