We had a fully vegan wedding and really wanted to show our guests that plant-based food was as exciting, flavourful, and filling as any omnivore menu. The NK team definitely delivered. The tasting we had at their kitchen was one of our favourite experiences of the whole wedding process! Night Kitchen was an amazing caterer to work with for our August wedding at the Brooklyn Grange! I'm sure there are a lot of great caterers in NYC, but I'd choose them again in a heartbeat. Reasons they rock are twofold: #1 The people. Chef Aaron is not only talented, but he is extremely nice and his values aligned with ours greatly (he believes in really fresh ingredients, is non-wasteful, etc). And we simply could not have pulled our wedding off smoothly if it had not been for Angela, the NK admin who we also hired as our Day-Of Coordinator. She was always two steps ahead of us to make sure everything got done. #2 The food. The food is delicious. So many people complimented us on it during and after the wedding, and many even said it was the BEST wedding food they'd ever had. The chef can do all kinds of world cuisines, so we felt like we had a really multicultural, diverse, unexpected menu for our wedding fare. They worked with us to build a menu that was inclusive of guests with dietary restrictions and that incorporated dishes that were meaningful to us too. In short, they are comfortable with customizations and pulled everything off expertly. DO NOT skip the private tasting in Chef Aaron's kitchen if you are offered the chance! It was so much fun to try many types of dishes, learn about the chef's experience, and plan a menu with my fiancé in a private, intimate environment. Me and a girl friend of mine were both July babies and decided to go big or go home for our bday this year, and do a private chef experience ... We wanted to stick to a night of apps for about 20 guests, and was looking for a caterer that could just help out with the logistics of the food prep and service. Night kitchen answered the call! Booking their services was easy and quick, and the available menu options sounded super appetizing. so we threw down the deposit and hoped for the best... i loved that they were also transparent about all costs, and the provided staff were all vaccinated.. sadly a necessity during these times. Shout outs to David, Angel, and Aurora for making the party the success it was! They made everything so easy for us as hosts, we were able to just relax and mingle with our guests. the food was EXCEPTIONAL! i couldn't stop inhaling the cubano pork belly bites that where each bite contained a tiny piece of dill that just make it perfection... and the halibut ceviche... just the right amount of jalapeno to make it pop! I was so sad i didn't leave enough room for extra bites of the hanger steak with chimichurri that i still ate like 6 of. everything was perfectly done - no soggy buns on these sexy fried chicken sandwiches.. nope nope nope. and then when they helped us plate our desserts they made my sad little pound cake look like a million bucks per bite. They are the reason my wedding was stress-free. The second we said, "I do" and went to the back to sign papers, our preferred drinks were waiting for us. The food was astounding. There are so many reasons that Night Kitchen is the most incredible catering a person could dream of for their wedding. Chef Aaron is a gem of a human, kind and passionate and down to earth while also delivering the most elevated food you can eat. Planning with him is like having a boisterous goldendoodle who loves life and is also an inventive and considerate chef. Angela, the catering coordinator who you should hire to be your wedding planner, just gets it. She's quick to understand your vision, relaxed alongside you with the things you are chill about, focused on the things you really value, and is just a warm, confident, calm presence throughout the event. She even thought of things we should have at the tables/for the guests that made the event and that no one else had mentioned, like high-chairs for kids. Every server involved in the day was so happy, skilled, and kind. They gave such attention to each of our 150 wedding guests, I had several guests coming up to me during the wedding to rave about the wonderful, lovely, friendly servers... and of course... THE FOOD. Oh, my God, the food. Let me preface this that there were at least 4 professional cooks at the wedding, and a few other guests who worked in the food industry and have strong opinions about food. My family and friends are obsessed with good food and have tried all kinds of dishes from all over the world. There was also a contingent of friends and their kids who like familiar, cozy food without surprises. There were meat eaters, and there were vegans. Multiple members of each of these aforementioned categories have come up to us - during the wedding, after the wedding, texting or emailing because they had to tell us - to say how extraordinary our wedding food was. Multiple people told us this is "the best wedding food - perhaps the best food - I have ever eaten." And it's true. There was food for every palate. There were surprises and there were comfort foods. There was thoughtful presentation and there was incredible food delivery timing. Picking Night Kitchen was one of our proudest decisions for the wedding. After picking each other, of course. We did it across the country (two NYers living in Cali, planning a wedding back home), and before we'd had a conversation with Night Kitchen, we read their reviews. We didn't understand how people could have so much to say about their WEDDING CATERER, but we were curious, so we called them. And it's all flowed from there. Now we know. Night Kitchen doesn't pay me to write a 5-star review. Literally. They don't pay me. I've been (culinary) volunteering for many many years for the Food and Film Festival in NYC's AMC theater and there is a reason why the organizers hire Chef Aaron's team back every year. They're simply very skilled at preparing mass quantities of food and organizing them to be expedited to delivery into a theater setting, as well as creating a pop up stand on a rooftop (think Smorgasburg/ Queens Night Market). It shows that menus are thoughtfully crafted based on the number of courses required and budget. Gosh, I pray they bring back Ramen, Fried Chicken, and Oysters. Not only the food is good, I want to believe the paid staff is having as much fun as the other volunteers and guests. Many happy memories with them, and looking forward to many more. read more

Amazing experience! Private dining experience felt really cool/hidden/speakeasy-ish nestled inside the catering kitchen. We're not really dining out right now (and never inside) but with the masked staff behind plexiglass and being the only party there were felt really safe and would go back. The food was amazing and interesting while still feeling familiar - twists on crowdpleasers with a lot of from-the-garden influences. All 14 courses were cleared - no duds. And I think it was more like 16-17 courses. Food rhythm was on point: never felt rushed or like we were waiting. Left extremely full but not sick. Staff and surroundings were casual and fun - and chef shared lots of great stories and hung out with us after the meal was through. Alcohol was included and plentiful. The house gin and tonics were very good. Overall just pure fun. Would definitely go back. P.S. The experience is underpriced (probably since it's just starting) but feels like it should cost 50-100% more given the 14 courses and inclusion of tax and alcohol. read more

Well, I have reviewed Night Kitchen several times, but I have to do it again because THEY have done it again. As things are slowly opening up, they are offering an intimate and lovely experience in their kitchen. While the space is small they have taken all the right precautions to dine safely. We went with some friends and the four of us were treated to yummy interesting cocktails, and then to a dinner of far too many mini-courses. Much of the food is literally farm to table, but all of it is beyond believe great. And it was so great to be sitting there with Chefs Aaron and Angel and Angela, the manager. We love good food and knew that if we were going to have a wedding the food should match the occasion and reflect our love of food, and wow, did it ever! I could not have had our wedding without NIGHT KITCHEN and Angela! From rescheduling dates and working through different and ever-changing COVID regulations, Night Kitchen and Angela were on top of everything! Catering -- My husband and I had very personalized elements we wanted for our wedding and Night Kitchen was able to deliver above and beyond. We wanted to serve Korean-inspired food like Atoboy, Danji, etc. However, many of these places do not cater outside of their own restaurant. We were able to work with Chef Aaron and his team to develop a menu that was elegant and so authentic. Everyone at the wedding was blown away by the food. My Korean aunt in her 70s could not believe this food was not from a Korean chef. We also wanted to deliver part of the food to a local homeless shelter for young mothers a few blocks away from the venue. Chef Aaron and his team was able to cook and set aside food to be delivered to the shelter prior to the wedding on top of prepping for multi-course dinner with at least 12 dishes for over 80 people. We were a little concerned this Michelin star Korean-fusion fine dining experience we wanted would lost with the volume of food that was cooked at once, but we were absolutely blown away with out nuanced and delicious everything was. You can bring any type of cuisine and experience you want to Night Kitchen and they will deliver! Day of Planner - We highly, highly suggest hiring Night Kitchen's day of planner, Angela when you book their catering services. Angela's planning template is what dreams are made of for Type A planners. She thinks of everything to the very last detail and went above and beyond with everything behind the scenes to make sure we could enjoy our day to the fullest. We also had some special events like a surprise puppy party for our guests, ice cream truck for dessert, and donating our flowers the next morning, and they were able to help us execute these on top of regular wedding stuff. read more

TL;DR: THIS. IS. NOT. WEDDING. FOOD. It's so much better. Night Kitchen was a big part of making our wedding joyful, thoughtful, and flippin' delicious. From our first few bites of Korean Fried Cauliflower at our tasting, we were basically dreaming about shoveling Night Kitchen food into our gobs nonstop for the next 6 months. We worried about whether the quality would suffer between a tasting for 2 and a wedding for 125. That was stupid. It was incredible. SO many guests stopped us to mention how delicious and way-beyond the usual wedding-food expectations things were. We all cheered when Chef Aaron emerged to restock the buffet, and then flew in like a bunch of hungry, salmon-addicted vultures. We also hired event pro Angela to be our wedding coordinator, and she too was awesome! Super-responsive, super-organized, ready to field all our many and varied questions, and kept everything in line on the day of. We didn't get quite as many comments on Angela's prowess as the deliciousness of the tiny burgers because people don't notice when things go well behind the scenes -- but we did, and we know Angela is a big reason why! Night Kitchen was so understanding, gracious, and transparent throughout the entire process. Night Kitchen is the only caterer we will ever work with again. A Yelp review can barely capture it, but to start: First, the food is unbelievable. We hired NK because we saw reviews that said this just doesn't taste like catering food, and that was an understatement. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that every single one of our 100 wedding guests pulled us aside or texted us afterwards to say it was the best wedding food they've ever had. The passed hors d'oeuvres were the eclectic, globe-trotting menu of our dreams, and the meal was just bite after bite of impossibly well prepared dishes. It's some of the best food I've had period, much less at a catered event. (We have also attended one of Night Kitchen's Chef Tables, and it's no-joke one of the best meals I've had in New York.) Second, Aaron, Angela, Angel, and the entire team are just world-class humans. We hired them for our originally scheduled May 2020 wedding, and they stuck with us through two postponements with nothing but warmth and love, even though I'm sure it was a huge pain for them. Not only that, but when we emailed in December 2020 (between rescheduling attempt #2 and attempt #3) that we'd decided to get married just with our parents in a tiny, COVID-safe wedding at an Airbnb in Brooklyn, Night Kitchen prepared an incredibly beautiful and special meal for our small group that Aaron personally delivered to us. And, of course, the food was once again phenomenal. Third, Angela is a catering logistics champion. She was unfailingly friendly and helpful, answered even the dumbest questions with grace, and made the whole process a breeze. She even helped us navigate the order and delivery for our wedding dessert. And the entire catering staff was incredible--many of our guests actually called out how wonderful the servers and bartenders were. (At one point I popped over to a friend who had an allergy to a specific dish, since it was all family style and I worried she wouldn't spot the ingredient--and she told me multiple servers had already seen her allergy restriction on the seating chart and come by to make sure she knew before the dish was served.) They were all a huge part of the perfect tone of the night. We are SO lucky that we found Night Kitchen and can't imagine how we would have gotten through the past two years of pandemic-rocked wedding planning without them. We would love them to the ends of the earth even if the food weren't so outstanding, but it is. If you need any catering, don't go anywhere else. read more

Night Kitchen was the wedding caterer and day-of coordinator of our dreams. Our wedding was such a happy day for us and also for our guests, and I credit about 90% of that to Night Kitchen. They're so much more than just a vendor -- as needed Aaron and Angela served as designer, therapist, hora participant; they brought so much soul to the event. Nearly everyone I talked to both during and after the wedding said some variation of "Oh my god -- the food" or "Everyone at the table had seconds of everything." It's not just good for wedding food, it's just good food, period -- creative and fresh, integrating spices and recipes from all around the world, and with a ton of vegetarian options (our wedding was pescatarian, mostly vegetarian). I'm still dreaming of the pineapple/queso hors d'oeuvres and trying to replicate the arugula/asparagus salad at home. Aaron is an inspired chef and also a good person, who we really enjoyed getting to know during our tastings at the kitchen in Bed-Stuy. We hired Angela as our day-of coordinator, and I truly don't know what we would have done without her. She put together a timeline for our wedding day that our other vendors said was better than those put together by full-scale wedding planners, and she patiently answered all of our questions in the months leading up to the wedding, big and small, from "How do we coordinate a confetti toss during the ceremony?" to "Should we go with a green tablecloth and white napkins or vice versa?" She also handled every mini crisis on the day of the wedding (furniture delivery showed up late, we'd forgotten to get candles for the tables, ketubah frame blew over in the wind and broke 10 minutes before the ceremony began, it was threatening to rain) with equanimity and sheltered us from these concerns so we were able to enjoy the day. Angela's eye for detail and patience for engaging with our own detailed questions created an event that felt both well planned and full of love. Night Kitchen was also, shockingly, cheaper than any of the caterers suggested by our venue, even though as far as I can tell, they're much better. I'd been worried about not going with one of the preferred caterers, but Aaron and Angela were flexible and adaptable and seemed to have no trouble putting together great food and a great event in an unfamiliar space. I hope that some of our guests hire Night Kitchen for their own weddings so we can see Aaron and Angela and eat this food again! Thank you both, Aaron and Angela, and sending you so much love. Echoing everything that has been said--Night Kitchen provided the absolute best, most delicious, imaginative, thoughtful catering for our son's bar mitzvah. We went into the event with a few specific requirements--we requested a kosher-ish (dairy/fish only, no meat) event that would reflect our 13 year old's super specific tastes (hot sauce and spicy things, empanadas, corn dogs, tacos....) When we went to the tasting, we were amazed that Chef Aaron completely intuited what we wanted and went so far beyond our expectations that we had a really hard time choosing from all of the things we tasted. We had a family-style dinner for the adults, and a completely different buffet for the kids. Often, the hors d'oeuvres are the star of the evening and the mains are a little less exciting. Not so with Night Kitchen! Things just got more delicious as the evening progressed. Vegetarians, vegans, omnivores--everyone raved about the food. We worked with the wonderful Angela as well and she handled all of the details with care and consideration. She was unflappable as our numbers went up and down, and kept us on task and sane. If I could give them a hundred, a thousand stars, I absolutely would. From the service to the food to everything in between, they will take care of you like no other. The team came into our wedding venue and each and every person hit the ground running, they work with the flawless execution of a well-oiled machine. Chef Aaron is a master of all cuisines and everything tasty (and honestly, on top of that really just the nicest guy). I love asian food so our menu had a bit of asian fusion mixed in, and he nailed it. Guests raved about the appetizers and entrees (Chef Aaron's duck confit was life-changing for more than a couple guests, one even asked later if it was from a restaurant because he had to have more of that duck). Guests were astounded at the attentiveness, consideration, and friendliness of the servers, remarking that that's something they never see in catering hall staffs. We had a bubble tea bar setup at our reception, something that NK's bartender had never worked with prior, but she learned on the fly and was an absolute PRO. So incredibly good!! We hired the Night Kitchen to cater our wedding last year, including hors d'oeuvres, family-style dinner, bar, and service, and the whole Night Kitchen team was absolutely extraordinary. The food was one of the best meals we and our 125 guests had ever had, wedding or otherwise, and was just as good as it was at our private tasting beforehand. Chef Aaron, Angela, and everyone else were so good at communicating and delivering on the specific vision we wanted, and everything went perfect on the big day. I can't recommend them highly enough; their involvement will always be one of the highlights of our wedding. Where to begin... We had just started wedding planning and Night kitchen came highly recommended by our venue. From my initial inquiry email to the random time I decided to call and the head chef, Aaron happened to pick up and patiently answered and entertained all of my questions down to the most personable and delicious tasting.. we were so thrilled when they agreed to cater and work with us and meet all of our requests. They were highly professional without compromising on any of the small details or personal touches and simply so easy to work with. All the guests raved about the food and we were so thrilled with them that my partner gave the night kitchen team a shout out when he got a hold of the mic on our wedding day. Also can't forget our amazing coordinator Angela who worked so so patiently with us and literally had our whole day go without a hitch. If you are hesitating on hiring a day-of-coordinator (like I foolishly was for too long) don't think about it and just hire Angela. Aaron and Angela at Night Kitchen MADE our wedding. We could never have imagined how delicious the food was. It was so unique and so "us" - not your typical wedding fare at all. Multiple people told us that this was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. Beyond the food though, the service was impeccable, and Angela - our day of coordinator - worked actual wonders. She was kind and responsive to our entire families, and the entire day went EXACTLY according to plan and schedule. If we hadn't chosen Night Kitchen, our wedding would have 100% suffered. Incredibly reasonably priced, super friendly and responsive, particularly in the month leading up to the event, and just all around incredible people. Some friends of ours invited us to a Chef's Table dinner by the Night Kitchen (https://www.tickettailor.com/events/nightkitchen) a few weeks ago. If you are more of a "give me the executive summary" type, here's the bottom line: do yourself a favor and book a reservation. You'll get to eat phenomenal food, enjoy a private dining experience, AND you are supporting a local small business during an especially tough time. Aaron and his team are incredible. They are excellent chefs (which one would expect given the other glowing reviews of their catering!), but they are also consummate hosts--it's the only indoor dining experience I've had over the past 7 months, and I felt comfortable and safe. Though the menu is 14-courses, it is perfectly proportioned. The dishes are substantive, but by the end, you won't feel like you are bursting at the seams. Night kitchen made a beautiful feast for our small backyard wedding. Of all the caterers we looked at, Chef Aaron offered the most interesting selection at the most reasonable price. I was particularly impressed by all the different vegetable dishes and the lobster rolls were the biggest hit with everyone--not to mention the parmesan crisps, the stuffed peppers, the steak, etc, etc, etc. Chef Aaron and his assistant set up shop in our kitchen where they plated our food beautifully. My partner and I just celebrated our one year anniversary. So many times this past year we have thought how lucky we were to have our wedding and party when we did. Not only thank goodness that our plans didn't get disrupted by COVID, but also THANK GOODNESS for such a fun, fun, FUN night before it all changed. We are so thankful for Angela, Chef Aaron and all Night Kitchen did for us to help us make magic happen. It was seriously the BEST WEDDING EVER! I also want to share how great the staff was. I keep thinking about the servers and they were just awesome. There was one who was handing out cupcakes and came to me specifically to ask which ones I wanted saved for myself. I was like "Oh whatever is left over!" and she politely, but pointedly said "No - which ones do you want?". I really appreciated her prioritizing me in that moment. Also - during dinner which we did family style, the server who was working with my table was very gracious and funny with my cousin and nephew who were being wise alecks about mashed potatoes. His responses and attitude were golden and a highlight. Great sense of humor! Night Kitchen catered our 200 person wedding in Manhattan. We are big foodies and appreciate creative and high quality food and Night Kitchen led by Aaron (Chef) and Angela (operations) exceeded our high expectations. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had! Furthermore, the team delivered exactly the type of event we hoped for and having been to many weddings it was clear that Night Kitchen is able to bring in the right team for the job. The entire bar and serving staff were so lovely and professional. We are both big foodies and wanted something special for our NYC wedding that was also somewhat affordable. My husband is extremely detail-oriented and is a good cook. He was adamant about making sure our guests got the quality and variety/creativity we normally offer at home. Personally, I thought his expectations were off the chart, however Aaron took the time to understand him and thoughtfully guide us to the perfect menu. The flavoring, diversity, and quality of every dish was out of this world. I literally ate the leftovers they sent us home with the next day and was savoring every bite. The tasting in their Brooklyn kitchen was one of the best meals we have ever had, especially considering that we live in NYC and dine out regularly. She is so well-organized, has great ideas, and helped us through many decisions easily with her knowledge of the ins and outs of how to make a wedding run smoothly. Night Kitchen catered our 50 person wedding in a time of COVID, and we're SO glad they did. After the ceremony, a delightful plate of h'ors d'oeuvres was waiting for us in the reception room, and they were all INCREDIBLE. Especially recommended are the Gochujang Fried Chicken, Lobster Rolls, and Lemongrass Beef. And then the main courses! All so very delicious, and catered to exactly what we were going for with the Indian-American theme of our wedding. It was all so, so much better than usual wedding fare, and all our guests agreed. Perhaps the greatest of all was Angela herself, as our day-of coordinator. She went above and beyond WELL in advance of the wedding, to make sure that all our vendors were in the loop on everything, and that we felt completely comfortable with the pace of our day as it approached. We had Night Kitchen as one of our vendors for our wedding in Brooklyn, NY on May 7, 2022 and we can't say enough good things about them both as a caterer and for day-of coordination! From our initial tasting about a year prior to our wedding to everything on the day of, we were thrilled with our experience. Chef Aaron, Angela, and the rest of the team were extremely professional and attentive and accommodating. We received countless compliments on the food (seriously, people said it was the best food they've had at a wedding)--everything was perfectly cooked, hot and fresh, always available without even a hint of shortage, and felt much more personalized, curated, creative, and special than wedding food often tends to be. People were also extremely complimentary on the service, the general course of events, and overall timeliness of everything. It never felt like there was any awkward downtime or clunky timing during the wedding day and Night Kitchen's preparedness and attention to detail (shout out to Angela for being incredibly buttoned up!) was a major contributor to the success of our day and the happiness of all the attendees. It was a cross-cultural wedding and they went above and beyond to create a menu that all of our guests loved and felt represented by.
