This bakery is magical. Their croissants, quesitos, and pound cakes are rich and light at the same time. They are so flaky and fluffy they somehow fly right off the shelf and into my mouth. The quesitos alone are worth a return trip. The sweet and savory flavors meld perfectly with the light and chewy crust. I can't say it enough, just magical. Don't miss out on the pound cake, either. The Pina colada pound cake was moist, perfectly sweet, and felt like a dream. My 7yo daughter and I had a slight disagreement about the cake cups. I prefer solid cakes (not crumbly layers of cake), but she loved it, apparently. My daughter also liked their cakes display, "They have a different kind of recipe for their batter. And they have fake cakes that are painted from a layer of paint on another layer of paint until they paint around the sides and they do the details for the fake cake to look real." I came to LaMarqueta originally to visit Hot Bread Kitchen on 4/20 during a recent visit to NYC, but this little cupcake shop next door was too cute to not at least stop in and get a little sweet treat. Their sprinkle/ splash concept is fab, and it's lovely that they are pricing it so that a little treat (a "sprinkle") is affordable for all at $1. They had sample tiramisu cupcakes, which were good, and the choco-choco sprinkle I grabbed on the way out was fresh and delish... and not overly sweet. It looks like they offer more than just cupcakes... flan is on the list, woot woot!!! If I lived local, I would surely support this fledgling business!! read more

Doin' it for the gram: Ordered today from here for delivery. Cakes were beautifully presented and that's where it stopped. The cake was stale and the icing was tasteless. The butter cream tasted like straight butter. The cake was most definitely old cake that was dried out. Not recommended. However on a bright note, we received a courtesy call for when the delivery would arrive. read more

I walked on park avenue and 115th until park and 112th, there are only housing buildings in that section. Their telephone is an answering machine, all day. I don't know where to start. This is an adorable and SCRUMPTIOUS bakery in the heart of cultural Spanish Harlem. It is family owned and operated and you feel that familial love as soon as you get to the counter! It smells wonderfully as baking is done on-premises. Looking to find a local bakery for my sisters first baby shower I stumbled upon this hole in the wall shop located in my neighborhood and wanted to help a small local business so I convinced my sister to let's get her cake from here. When we went for our cake testing everything was sweet service was good and I even decided to order a cake for my sons 1st Bday nov 1 but I was undecided whether or not to do it sat the 4th or sun the 5th at that time. We ordered early sept. We left we were so excited I know I was for sure. Sept 21 I sent the pictures of my sons toy I wanted to be created into a cake. I didn't hear from Tabitha until oct27 1 week before my sons bday party I texted her and told her I would need the cake early on Sunday nov 5th she replied back with a "whos this?" She didn't have any of her contacts. That's when red flags started popping up in my head! Whos this? A week before my sons 1st Bday Party?! I planned months ago! How rude & unprofessional! Mind you I'm a very reasonable person who understands "shit happens" I get it! But as a up n coming small business owner why wouldn't you put a PSA out to your customers on social media where she constantly is posting on her business page letting them know what happens? I'm not a business owner but I have worked customer service jobs most of my work life and it's just a no brainer to me like i had to really ask myself a few times am I bugging?! So fine I held it down told her who I was n etc i will attach our text messages so you guys can judge for yourself. As the conversation continued I became frustrated because I just felt like her tone and attitude thru text was so nasty and I was very dissapointed at this point for even doing buisness with her and her company. I told her to give me a call at a earlier time because I didn't want to continue texting I didn't like it I'd rather speak on the phone. Since it was Friday night she told me she will call me on Monday when she gets to her shop.(mind you she said her phone fell in the toilet Monday) go figure ‍ I was just wondering so how would you have ever contacted me? It was a week before my cake was supposed to be done fine I decided to wait on her call Monday and hopefully clear up the frustration and tension maybe it was me? The call never came she texted me later in the afternoon UNPROFFESIONAL! @ this point I'm convinced she has something against me/ she doesn't want to do my cake I don't know what it was but I wasn't getting "happy baker vibes" from this lady I wasn't getting a baker who loves what she does and was willing to go beyond to satisfy her PAYING customers! I left a 75$ deposit! I convinced my sister to get a 400$ cake from this woman who was treating me like SHIT! Can you believe this!! anyway as the texting continued the tension and tone of our conversations thickened and long story short I wanted a refund. I didn't want a cake from her anymore she tried to ruin this whole experience for me and for my sons bday. When I found my receipt I realized it says "NO REFUND" OFCOURSE! 10 min later I texted her and said I was upset with her service and since I can not get a refund I would like to continue with my cake she tells me she threw it out and left her shop! I was just like wow! I felt so dissapointed and spat in my face like a big FUCK YOU! Fuck your money! Fuxk your sons 1st bday is what she basically told me! My husband tried calling her and asking her if there was another cake she can replace and she said no she couldn't help there wasn't nothing to do. For a woman with a up n coming business a woman of color who supposedly is " FOR THE PEOPLE" sure has a strange way to show that. That's how you know she's all for show and the way she behaved and handled a frustrated upset overwhelmed customer who bought buisness to her and put money to her is NOT FOR THE PEOPLE she is for personal gain! So I hope this review convinces ANYBODY thinking of doing buisness with TABITHA & her SPRINKLE SPLASH shop PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK! I WISH EVERYBODY LUCK! But if your like me & expect impeccable customer service where you spend your hard earned money at not to be thrown out the garbage then think twice there r more bakers out there. The first time I was introduced to Sprinkle Splash was at my Tax appointment. (LOL) yes my accountant had these delicious looking Red Velvet Cupcakes on the side of her desk and she said have one. I was very hesitant because am a very picky when it comes to any type of cakes especially Red Velvet. All it took was one bite and I was hooked. My daughter who's everything chocolate was like I want those cupcakes for my birthday. Ever since that day and about 2 years later I only go to Sprinkle Splash for all my cake needs. this place is Harlem`s best kept secret..and nyc`s very own personal treasure ! their liquor infused cupcakes are to die for.and for all of you cheese lovers, they have this guave pastry that literally melts in your mouth. I then had a birthday cake made there for a cop friend of mine. it was not only a work of art, but it was simply a thing of beauty as well. it looked and tasted like what a well orchestrated symphony would sound like. Tabitha is the owner, who is extremely professional, personable and very well versed in the sweets department. she made me feel like I was a member of the sprinkle splash family .
