Brownstone has made its legacy in Bergen County and it never disappoints. First of all, I appreciate the valet parking. There's never a set price and it makes it very convenient, especially in "hard to find parking" Edgewater. Even though the restaurant is ALWAYS packed, they do a great job at treating their customers with patience, professionalism, and a smile. We were no different, as Cami was a delightful Server. She went above and beyond for our comfort and even offered us a free colossal ice cream float (that another customer did not want), which we declined, or else it would have added a sweet and delightful 3,800 calories. I started with a Mocha Cappuccino and it was amazing. The drizzle of chocolate, after being stirred throughout the mug, adds the perfect amount of sweetness that does not require added sugar. It also makes you forget about the cold that inevitably you'll have to endure after the meal. During this visit, we ordered the following: Blueberry Pancakes (Fresh blueberries baked inside and on to top, served with blueberry compote on the side). These blueberries were not only exquisite, but there were enough blueberries/compote to accompany every bite. The other was the Gourmet Mushroom & Stomach Omelet (With fresh mushrooms, spinach, garlic & goat cheese). Every ingredient was fresh, the goat cheese was so deliciously creamy, and to-go boxes were necessary, because Brownstone always serves large portions. Will I return to Brownstone?.... ABSOLUTELY. Do I recommend it?....I don't have to.....it's already a Bergen County celebrity and sets the bar high for other breakfast eateries.
Brownstone Pancake Factory didn't disappoint. This dinner had an unbelievable amount of options. I went with the breakfast combo and the best part was the fluffy pancakes. The place seemed to be a little expensive but what isn't nowadays. When we pulled up we had vallet parking and lucky today it wasn't packed but I've heard on the weekends you can wait for hours. Service was on point and the place seemed to be warm and welcoming. Wish I took more pictures!
Brownstone!! You did not disappoint! We celebrated my daughter's golden birthday there and everything from greeting to service was on point! The restaurant is very clean, and all the staff are very welcoming! The attentiveness of our waiter was above and beyond! So Thank you Alfanso S. for your service and making my daughter's day special! The prices of the food is worth it because it's a lot of food! They have a coffee bar so Thank goodness good amounts of caffeine were available. I had like 2 lattes back to back. The parking is valet so bring some cash for tip! I'm very happy we chose Brownstone to start my daughter's birthday celebration!!! Enjoy!
Was in NJ/NYC for the holidays and got to meet up with some family and try this spot out for brunch. We had a group of 6 and got there around 11am and were seated right away. The menu is huge, the ambiance is fun and so is the vibe. Staff was nice and all the food arrived pretty quickly. I had their croissant breakfast sandwich and their biscuits and gravy. My fiancé had peanut butter pancakes that were stacked and delicious. The rest of the family had a variety of meals from French onion soup to omelets. Everyone was happy and satisfied. Would definitely go back!
Man, this place is packed. Luckily there is valet parking because otherwise I would have had to drive on past. At 10:30ish on a Sunday, there were a lot of people waiting, but as a party of 2, we were luckily seated immediately. I'm sure results vary. Even though it was packed, it wasn't overly noisy. Despite the packed house, our server was really good about getting our order and coffee refills. There are a lot of good options on the menu, but I went with the meat combo omelet. It was really packed heavy with meat and came with a hearty portion of home fries. My friend got the blueberry coconut French toast which looked like a beautiful dessert, but the combo comes with a big sausage link and eggs to add a little meal variety. The food and service were a definite 5. They don't take reservations/call ahead seating, so I recommend getting here earlier if you don't want to wait. Otherwise, it's a solid brunch option.
I haven't been here in years. The first thing we were not thrilled with was you have to valet. There is no other option. We don't love to valet so we were disappointed with this aspect. One of the most things I appreciated with the overall experience was Roger. He was very friendly and when he seated us, he sat us at a roomy table. This was great! Many restaurants don't pay attention to people's sizes and sit them in inappropriate seating. My husband is a big guy and is often uncomfortable. So kudos to Roger for seeing and knowing this. Our waiter was also very nice. His name was Adrian. I also liked the decor. The thing we were not that impressed with was the taste of the food and the look of it. It was average at best. They had gluten free pancakes, but would have been nice to know the ingredients. I did not ask but did not see on the menu. You also had to get 2 egg whites. My husband's omelette also did not seem like it had much cheese. He left 1/2 of it which he does not do often. Also the bathroom was small & very crowded. 2 stalls and 1 sink. This was not enough for how many people were there and I found myself waiting longer than you should have to. The one other thing that seemed enjoyable was the birthday celebrations. They pulled out all stops and I'm sure those pictures are great. The regular hot coffee was also good. I would go back and try lunch or dinner hoping for a better food tasting experience.
Love to come to this restaurant! When you arrive, they have valet parking only. Make sure to bring a few bucks to tip the valet staff (I don't always carry cash so I feel bad not tipping when we leave). But yeah, so the place itself is nice and big. The staff I had help my table were always so nice and friendly. The menu has so many yummy options and the food portion is big so get ready to either grub or take home some of your left overs lol. I came here 3 times so far and will be coming more in the future!
Brownstone Pancake Factory is a whole vibe . The portions are insane like, when you order a milkshake, it's not just a milkshake, it's an art piece. Super extra, super fantastic, and totally worth it. We loved every single dish! Everything we tried was delicious, and the staff is so friendly. Perfect spot for a family brunch, catching up with friends, or just treating yourself. Definitely coming back and if you want brunch done right, this is it.
The Challah french toast and coffee I had were great. Shared the eggs benny with the corned beef hash and that was fantastic. Service was just okay and it was not busy.
I came here for breakfast with my cousin. We wanted to grab breakfast before heading to Sojo Spa down the block. We got to the restaurant around 8:45am. They had a menu with discounts for customers who came in before 10am. We both ordered the 2 eggs, bacon, 1 sausage, and 2 pancake meal with a side of potatoes. The food came out quickly. The food was so delicious! YUM! The pancakes were really fluffy and the powdered sugar added just the right touch. The food was extremely filling. The meal was only $12 so the bill came to around $40 for the both of us. I'm definitely going to stop here before going to the spa moving forward. Perfect spot! *Service was great and the restaurant was clean. Nice atmosphere too.
Brownstone pancake factory has an elevated diner feel. They have a really extensive menu and I believe the breakfast is made to order. The pancakes are delicious and fresh. I loved the letter "B" they made with the powered sugar! I took my friend here for her birthday breakfast and she was delighted. It was her first time at Brownstone and loved the breakfast. She had the Baja Skillet which was hot and fresh. I had the pancake breakfast combo and subbed the buttermilk pancakes for chocolate chip. The breakfast was delicious. The orange juice was indeed freshly squeezed and refreshing. The service was good and she gave us plenty of time to explore the menu without rush. However the only disappointment was that I asked them if they could sing happy birthday to my friend and they forgot. I excused myself from the table to request them to sing happy birthday to my friend as a surprise but I couldn't find my waitress. I spoke with another waitress in hopes that she would relay the message but I'm not sure if she did. The waitress I spoke with said that she would and asked me to pick out a cupcake so they could bring it when they sang. There were at least 3 other birthdays that morning and it looked so fun. They had a mini bubble machine and fun candles. I was really really looking forward to my friend being celebrated but unfortunately that did not happen. Besides that incident I would return for the breakfast because it was delicious and I felt like the prices were fair. If you go for a birthday make sure to remind your server just in case. TIPS- This location has complimentary valet parking, no self parking allowed. Friday, Saturday and Sundays are ALWAYS packed so be prepared to wait. Going during the week might be your best bet for little to no wait times.
I've visited their locations in Edgewater and Englewood Cliffs, and both consistently deliver a very good experience. The menu is extensive, offering lots of unique choices to satisfy any craving. Two of us tried the omelets (Aegean and Gourmet Mushroom), and they were huge! Definitely enough for leftovers--perfect for a second breakfast at home. The Jersey Benedict with Taylor Ham is always a favorite as is the various pancake options. Bottomless coffee is a nice touch, keeping the breakfast vibe going strong. The milkshakes are showstoppers, and the hot cocoa comes loaded with whipped cream for an indulgent treat. While it's not the cheapest breakfast option, the generous portions, quality, and service make it worth it.
Cool vibes for a restaurant. The service was good and the server was very friendly. There was a big variety of options and the food was pretty tasty.
There are few things that I enjoy more than an incredible coffee shop or breakfast spot! While taking a walk through Edgewater, I decided to take a chance on Brownstone Pancake Factory and the experience fulfilled most of my expectations. ENVIRONMENT I only stepped inside to pickup my to-go order but the seating was plentiful and the decor was festive. In actuality, this would be a lovely spot for a children's party. FOOD While seated across from the Skyline, I decided to unbox the buttermilk pancakes. To my delight they not only looked delicious but were quite tasty. I also ordered scrambled eggs and turkey bacon but they missed the mark. If you're stumbling through North Jersey and need a sweet pick-me-up, Brownstone should certainly be one of the first places that comes to mind. I chose a few of their "simpler" items but their menu has an incredible variety of options. read more

Went to Brownstone Pancake Factory for brunch with my family to celebrate a birthday! The portions are generous cooked well. Considering this was the weekend, the food came out relatively faster than expected as it was busy. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you want brunch vibes and hunger for pancakes. read more

I've been here twice. The first time I came, the food was oily and bland. Three years later, I decided to give it another try instead of going to my regular breakfast spot, which is 30 minutes away. Bad idea. The server was very sweet, and I saw her take down my order correctly. However, the kitchen got it wrong: they sent out home fries instead of fries for my husband, the pancakes had powdered sugar when we explicitly told them no powdered sugar, and the bacon was soggy and very oily--basically inedible. I asked for an egg white omelette with mushrooms, peppers, and feta; they missed the mushrooms and had to redo it. Once they brought the right items, we began to eat, and that's when I noticed a HAIR in my omelette, basically encrusted in a mushroom. At this point, my husband and I were done. I was looking forward to a nice breakfast, but this was terrible. We spoke to a manager who removed the omelette from our order; we paid our check and left. It's such a shame because this spot is literally one block away from me, but this place won't see me EVER AGAIN! FYI--the waitress was awesome, very apologetic, and super sweet. The coffee and orange juice were very good as well. I think the kitchen staff is overwhelmed due to the heavy volume of orders/people in this establishment. It's also very loud, where you basically have to yell at the person in front of you so they can hear you. read more

This place exceeded my expectations, the menu was massive and the restaurant too. Friendly and quick service. The highlights of the meal was the short rib eggs Benedict on a mini pancake. Their pancakes in general were very fluffy and tasty. The pesto sandwich was surprisingly good too. Lots of fusion foods which I appreciate, I will definitely come back and try more of their sweet dishes. read more

I had the blueberry coconut bliss French toast. I was expecting a little more for $16. The French toast wasn't stuffed like the description stated: "our fresh baked challah bread stuffed with fresh blueberries & shredded coconut, topped with fresh blueberries & our vanilla sauce". The flavors were fine. I was just a little underwhelmed. I also had a side of two chicken sausage links and a cup water. The service was good. It was as busy Saturday. Valet parking only. The ambiance was a bit loud since some guests were celebrating birthdays. I would come back if someone else wanted to go here. read more
The food was great. I would definitely return again if in the area. The restaurant was clean. I really feel like the valet wasn't necessary though it wasn't busy so maybe when it's busy valet would be useful. Valet was free. The server was pretty slow when it giving us the check. We asked for boxes to take home what we didn't finish about 15 minutes go by after he gave us the boxes so we start looking around wondering where he is, another server seen us and pointed him to our direction read more
Highly recommend! Would bring a group with you - so you can order multiple items and share! Ordered the cinnamon swirl pancakes, so so good! Not overly sweet! Added a side of the blueberry compote- yum!! Also had the Espresso Milkshake - simple yet delicious. The staff were all very friendly & waitress had great suggestions. read more

Very disappointed! I ordered the love yo mama latte, it was supposed to be a vanilla latte with chocolate and raspberry syrup, raspberry dust, sprinkles and whipped cream. I asked for no chocolate and this is what I was served after watching several walk past me, I was very disappointed. For breakfast I ordered the short ribs eggs Benedict and was asked to choose something else because at 8:15 AM. They did not have any available for the day. I choose The crème brûlée pancakes they were nothing more than a blob of vanilla pudding on top of pancakes. There is no toasted sugar on them. I drive 45 minutes to come to this place a few times a year, this was supposed to be a treat for me. I am extremely disappointed in my experience today, Mother's Day 2025. read more

Been here twice & both experiences make me want to visit again. Visits to the Brownstone Pancake Factory, though, are definitely days where you have to commit to self indulge! They offer many varieties and combinations of toppings for their pancakes which are all delicious and will give you difficulty deciding what to order. They also have delicious options for coffee lovers. (They offer a "bottomless" option for $4) Their nut n honey latte is my favorite! & makes me crave one thinking about it! Their servers are friendly and the restaurant itself is a great size and ambiance. Hope to be back again soon! read more
PSA: make sure you're not on a diet when you come here! Brownstone is a fun, sugary journey into brunchville. My friend and I split a California omelette and the chocolate and peanut butter pancakes. I'm glad that 1. we came very hungry and 2. we decided on getting one sweet and one savory dish. The food was yummy but be prepared that the pancakes are very very rich. Ours was drenched in peanut butter, chocolate and whipped cream. We happened to peer over at the table next to ours and their pancakes were topped with ice cream and an entire slice of cake, oh my! The ambiance is casual and the staff seem to enjoy working there. We saw three people have birthday celebrations and the staff were adorably enthusiastic about them-- bringing out desserts with birthday sparklers, belting out happy birthday, and liberally spraying a bubble machine. The complimentary valet was convenient. We waited 15 min for a table (not too bad!). And ordering was a cinch. The food came out pretty fast. Overall a nice place for Saturday brunch! I'll come back for sure. read more

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I'll start with the positives. Despite how busy it was, we were seated immediately. I got the breakfast combo with the iced caramela. The Iced caramela was to die for and the challah bread french toast and sausage in the combo were delicious. Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positive. Staff were very much all over the place and disorganized. The menu was very large and overwhelming. I felt like I was reading a breakfast bible rather than menu items. When the food came, either it didn't come all together at the same time and we had to wait 20 minutes for each item to come and having to constantly remind our waiter what items were missing, the order was wrong or items were missing. To top it all off, The bacon in the combo breakfast tasted very...fake. Like one of those microwavable bacon, the cheesy grits were bland and the eggs were dry and cold. The restaurant was already loud which is anticipated for a busy Sunday afternoon but the birthday celebrations and the loud music made it hard to have a conversation with the people at your table. I had very high hopes considering how many positive reviews this place had but I was left feeling disappointed and just wanting to leave. read more

I came here twice so far. The first time was very overwhelming because I was with a huge group. The second time I came with 3 other people and I really enjoyed the whole experience. We ordered: Buffalo chicken fries 10/10 amazing!!!! Licked the plate clean! It was so good! Oreo Nutella waffles 9/10 Delicious! Had really good crunchy Oreo pieces on it. I loved that touch! Jalapeño popper burger 8/10 The jalapeños were the best part! The cheese was nice and gooey. Not a big fan of the burger patty itself. Man Vs. burger 4/10 This burger was a patty sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches. I thought it would amazing. I was wrong. The bread was too crunchy and the meat patty was gross. I only took one bite and gave the rest away. I really didn't like it. All in all, this place is really good! I'd come back again but wouldn't order a burger. read more

My first time coming here and I can see why it's so famous and popular! I came here with my husband and 2 kids for Sunday brunch and we did have to wait about 30 min to be seated. They only had valet parking which is a bummer but for good reason since parking can be tough at this place. Once we were seated, our waitress was very patient with us as we decided what to order. I have a sweet tooth so I wanted something yummy. I decided on an Oreo Nutella waffle and my husband got an omelet wrap. Once we got our food, I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes for the price. I could easily share my waffle with my son and still ended up not finishing the whole thing. It had oreos baked inside and on top. The ice cream was yummy and gave it life. Our waitress was so nice as she had a bubble blower and had our son entertained at times. I will recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth and who wants a different kind of entertainment at a restaurant read more
I'd heard some good things about Brownstone Pancake Factory, and I'm happy to say that they were all true and that this place lives up to the hype! The menu is crazy and features every breakfast and lunch item you could think of. The vibes of the place are the classic Jersey diner vibes which are bustling, fun, and happy. I got the Oreo pancakes (because treat yourself) and they were unreal. They're loaded up with Oreos, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. My brother god the Cinnamon Toast Crunch French toast which came with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, caramel drizzle and vanilla ice cream. I tried a little of this and confirm it was also amazing. If you're looking for a fun and tasty breakfast with the fam look no further than Brownstone pancake factory! read more
So came here for brunch with a friend. We saw the post with the insane milkshakes and pancakes. We were a little glutinous and tried multiple dishes. I think we beat the morning rush as it was half full and we got seated quickly. We tried the Oreo cake milkshake. The banana cream French toast , the Jersey cheddar and pancakes, and my friend ha an inlets with home fries. The server was super sweet and attentive and gave us recommendations on the menue. Honestly I have to say we over did it on the sweets and I feel like all our flavors ran together. The French toast was really good. The pancakes had this good sweet and salty dichotomy and they tasted good day two. The milkshake well I felt wasn't the best one I ever had. Yes it was definitely diabetes in a cup but the shake wasn't super thick and I don't really feel like I tasted the Oreo. The spot was cute loved the various nicknacks, definetly love am open kitch so I can see that y'all are being clean ! I would try it again and balance my order better. . read more
Breakfast all day! Sign me up :) I've been wanting to get breakfast here for years and finally I've experienced the delicious pancakes. Family, solo and date friendly place. Small diner-like setting with a lot of memorabilia and contemporary music. Eat- Deluxe pancake w/ fresh strawberries , bananas and blueberries (whip cream optional). 10/10 Hickory smoked (pork) bacon. 9/10 Disco French fries (gravy/American cheese). 10/10 Oreo stuffed pancakes w/ vanilla ice-cream , whipped cream and Oreo cookie crumble. 9/10 Drink- Signature bottomless unlimited Brownstone coffee w/ almond milk. 10/10 Fresh squeezed orange juice (no pulp) 9/10 Tip- Valet parking (free). Bathrooms need upgrade/ and TLC cleaning. Pay up front at entrance. Place can become very crowded call ahead for wait time. Price vary $$-$$$ (bacon $6/ 2 eggs $5) My review wasn't 5 stars, due to having to get a wait staff attention after 10 minutes of seating. However, our wait staff Nicole was amazing !!! She was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the company of Brownstone. I'd definitely return to tackle another delicious item off their menu! read more
