I come to this diner quite frequently & the main drawback is the service. After receiving our food, the server passed our table many times & never once gave us the ability to refresh our beverages. Some of the servers are really great & then there are a couple that need some training. The food is pretty good but in the future, I think I will ask to be placed at a different section of the diner. I like the aesthetics of the diner & it certainly adds to the experience. read more

We have been here a few times. Food is very good with ample choices, but pricy for a diner. They also have alcoholic drinks , but we have not try them. Service is excellent with warm professional staff mostly young ladies. The ambiance is excellent. The place is very clean, comfortable chairs and booths, good lighting and music. Recommendations: the place is too cold even in summer and please swap the on-table salt dispenser to regular ones. The current one does not have iodine and requires grinding. We arrived at 9 pm on Sunday. Their hours are until 10pm. After a few minutes a server approached us and said they were no longer seating tables. I confirmed if they were supposed to be closing at 10 and she said we do but we decided to close earlier today. I was upset by this because my Dad and I had a long day at the hospital visiting a family member and when we wanted to eat my Dad had suggested "another diner". I pushed for us to come to this one because it was closer to home and had better reviews than his suggestion. I was highly disappointed that we were turned away because "they decided to close early". My dad is retired from the restaurant industry and even he said he'd never heard of anything like that before. After this sour experience I'm not sure I'll be coming back again. read more

This diner looks clean. It looks like an updated diner. We went on Saturday morning and there wasn't a wait and there wasn't many people dining in. The first thing that caught my eye is when I asked for the kids menu they stated they didn't offer one. I was a bit surprised for a diner not to offer a kids menu. This establishment is an average dining experience. The food wasn't out of the normal. The prices were pretty high, especially for diner food. This place is fairly clean, has a nice sized parking lot and offers a pretty robust menu. The service was not the friendliest but the hostess was very nice and welcoming. My issue is the relative value to food quality ratio wasn't that good here. In short, they charge pretty high prices for a diner compared to some other nearby options and the food wasn't so awesome that I thought - well gee, I'd sure come here again given what I just paid. The French dip sandwich that was recommended to me was fine but not $20+ dollar fine. Fries were crispy but overall the sandwich itself lacked any real flavor and the meat was kind of dry. The good au jus gravy was what sort of saved the dish. The burger was average. Patty was ok but not particularly juicy or memorable. The price of the burger here was much higher than a nearby option that tasted better IMO so again, that's what was the sticking point for me. If the service was amazing I'd prob make this 3 stars but it was spotty and at times unresponsive. It wasn't particularly busy when I went on a Sunday morning so not sure what's going on there. Either way, I think it's better to consider other diner options if possible. read more

I come here all the time .Came here for lunch with a friend . Waitress gave us lunch menu . Got meatloaf special 14.50 and a glass of red wine. Bill came and she charged us $22.50 each which is dinner price and $14.00 for a half a glass of wine. Asked about bill .Reduced from 22 50 to 14.50 and was rude about it. also would not budge on the 14.00 half glass of wine. I wrote a great review in 2023 and have been back many times. I must say the rudeness of staff and prices. Will make me think twice on coming back.Bad sevice and robbing loyal customers is not for me. read more

I got the lunch special salmon creole and it came with chicken soup. What a big deal for $15. Portions were so big I couldn't finish the food and have something for snack later. The decor is also amazing. The staff is very friendly. The soup was just right and not too salty but the salmon over rice lacked a bit of flavor. The garlic bread was a nice touch too. read more

I've been homeless for a few years after losing my home in Long Island, New York. I came upon Knight Hotel, and just steps away I found a gem, Runway Diner. What attracted me was the sign about margaritas or something, and I had just left the "dry" town of Ocean Grove where I lived for six months, so I was psyched to see a sign about an alcoholic beverage, plus I was thirsty. I walked in and plopped myself at the counter by the window. I ordered a Strawberry Margarita, and Moe delivered it with a sugared rim, and a smile. I immediately felt at home. The chair had no back, so I switched to a small booth. Wasn't really hungry, but with plans in my head of a return, I decided to try something simple: a cup of soup. It was delicious. Perfectly seasoned, great texture, small lentils and no sign of a surprise piece of unidentifiable meat. Just pure lentils. I was ecstatic! Everything was clean and shiny as a whistle, including the utensils, neatly tucked inside a napkin. The menu is quite extensive. Thank you, Moe, for brightening my day. Ordered the chef special burger and my girl got the breakfast burrito with chorizo. The burger was okay, but the burrito had chicken instead of the chorizo! It would've been fine if it didn't taste so bland. So I asked for another one with the actual chorizo, and that one tasted bland also, with barely any chorizo! Visited the Runway Diner for breakfast and it was a pleasure. The diner has been renovated and they did a very good job. It is clean and had plenty of seating. The orange juice was one of the freshest that I've ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am glad that they chose to serve it fresh and not out of a carton. I'll always order it in the future. Our selections did not disappoint, as well. My daughter mentioned, that the waffle was one of the best that she's ever had. My Western Omelet was very good and our server, Michelle, was so nice. She kept checking on us and made sure that we were satisfied. You will enjoy your visit to this highly recommended diner and will leave satisfied. read more

Time before our last, we couldn't get waited on and the place was empty...... Not a favorite spot of mine to begin with, but I guess will do in a pinch. Went there yesterday - they have a Pastrami Reuben, but NOT A CORNED BEEF reuben. Why? Went specifically for a regular corned beef reuben. Had to leave. The place is always empty, and no wonder why. I've been to this diner quite a few times in the past. The last visit was disappointing. The prices seemed to have gone up ($8 for a side of bacon) and the quality down (Pearl Milling Company syrup to put on the densest pancakes I've encountered. They did put a fair amount of fruit in them though). The wait staff was professional and attentive but I did get charged for two lemonades when I had just one so check your bill if you go. But honestly I would pass as just about any other diner is likely to have better food at more reasonable prices. I never saw the diner that empty before, it's obvious why. read more

Came here with family, including several kiddos because I saw the great reviews and photos. The diner did not disappoint. It's very clean and neat, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, and the servers were all very pleasant, eager to answer questions and helpful while we ordered. The food was very good, it was above par of other NJ diners by a good bit. The food was flavorful, hot, and well portioned diner-wise. We all took half our plates home, except for the home fries which were the only thing that we did not care for. We were surprise that that they were not well seasoned and a little limp. The coffee was also very good and I particularly liked that they had fresh juice, such as freshly squeezed orange juice, and apple juice. Everything else was really good, it's good for individuals, couples and groups / families- and I'd love to return. read more

This is a fairly new diner in the area and I finally decided to give it a try. The thing that caught my eye when driving by is that they have a pretty large tent set up outside for outdoor dining. Unfortunately when I went, the weather wasn't too good so we had to sit inside. The inside is very clean and has a nice ambience to it. There is also plenty of parking behind the diner, but make sure to enter from the side road. You can't enter straight from Route 46 because of the outdoor dining setup. They have a large menu with a lot of different choices. The prices are what you would expect for the area and the servings are a good size. The menu is airport themed, as it is nearby Teterboro airport. The service was great, and so was the food. I definitely plan to come back to try some of the other items on the menu. read more

Went to Runway about.1 week ago for break with friends. The diner has been completely renovated and is very clean including the bathroom. The hostess was polite and quick to acknowledge our party of 4. One waiter came over and asked for a beverage order quickly brought it then took our food order. The food came out promptly, hot, and as ordered. The staff to table ratio was excellent. The food quality and size was very good and we all had leftovers. Was in the area and decided to give this diner a try. I typically don't have high hopes for diners but wow, this diner is a serious gem! It looks like they remodeled not long ago so the diner is modern, clean and ample seating. Service was amazing and we were seated right away. I was surprised to see they had a Brunch menu so if you are looking for a local brunch place, add this one to your list. I ordered their stuffed strawberry and blueberry french toast that was topped with raspberry syrup. Sooooo good! And their waffles with fresh fruit and walnuts and a side of sausage. With the brunch, you get a complimentary drink and took the Peach Bellini (which was delicious and a nice treat). A really great place and it's located not to far from the teterboro plaza so after you shop, you can stop here for a nice meal! read more

Decided to try this place out again via dining in. Better experience. We shared the salmon special which came with red wine and soup. It was delicious! And i got a salad with grilled chicken anf their house made balsamic dressing. Also tasty. The buffalo wings were not buffalo and way too fried, but still tasty given theyre breaded and deep fried. read more
