When visiting my in laws, we went to this diner, which was fantastic. Even though there are a lot of diners in NJ, they're not always clean and don't always have the best food. We've been to several when visiting. This one is by far the best. My sister in law lives close by. She said it was very good and goes there often. I can see why. Everyone loved the food they got. My mother in law loved her omelette. I absolutely loved my short rib tacos. It's hard to get short rib where we live. This short rib was so moist and tender. Loved that they were tacos! Mmmm my husband loved his pancakes and bacon. My sister in law said the avocado toast is also very good. I'd try that next time. Go check out this diner. I'm going to start by saying the service was TERRIBLE. They first tried to seat us at the "after thought" table that were two table pushed side by side against a row of booths. We asked to be seated else where. They waitress took a long time to come greet us. We never got menus or utensils until we'll after being seated. I ordered a coffee with cream and i got milk. The food was just average. The Mac and cheese balls and the short rib panini were probably the two best items we got. The breakfast quesadilla was average at best and the chicken and waffle eggs Benedict were below average. The hollandaise sauce was blah and as u can see from the picture , I got a giant waffle with chicken and eggs just in the middle. I had to wait forever for syrup and the waffle wasn't even butters and super dry. We stopped here because the reviews were good and we wanted a "Jersey Diner" experience. I usually order from here to-go or DoorDash and the food is decent. Decided to dine-in if it wasn't too crowded today. For a late Saturday morning, we were able to get seated right away which was great. Service didn't start out too good. There was one younger hostess who was very pleasant, and an older grey-haired woman who just stared and didn't greet us. Our waitress was at first very pleasant, as well, but after she took our order she essentially disappeared and we didn't really see her until she haste-fully tried to give us to-go boxes. We had to ask another waitress for more napkins and condiments. I ordered one of the specials. It was meat-lovers hash browns with ham, bacon, and chorizo mixed in, and topped with scrambled eggs and cheese. It was absolutely delicious. Some of the best diner food I've had outside of Tops Diner. With the special you also get a choice of a cocktail, and I had a Mimosa. My company had eggs over medium, bacon, and hash browns and they thought their dish was just okay. I also had a cup of coffee and didn't finish it. It was extremely watered down and flavorless. My company also agreed. When we were leaving, the friendly hostess handed my toddler a box of popcorn, which he was absolutely delighted by. All-in-all, This place is great to stop by if you're already in the area, but I wouldn't particularly go out of my way if it wasn't on the way to another destination. I think since I live close by, I'd give it another go to see if the service was just one-off for the day. read more

My wife and I was trying to figure out what we where going to eat I ask her to pick because I always pick where we are going and she called me at work and said I want to go to Runway Diner I said to her good choice so we got her I ask for the Stuffed Fillet of Sole and my wife ask for Skirt Steak Creole and both dishes where amazing I normally eat everything and I wasn't able to eat everything in the other hand my wife ate everything. We have been coming here for a long time when we get here everyone come and greet us at the door with a hug. In the picture you will find Raul one of the best servers he always have good recommendations for me. Then is my wife Mirta the best wife. Then of course my self the best man. Runway Diner - a "noob" (as my kids would say) on the Jersey diner scene but they're definitely making an impression... from the clean modern look (cool bright colors, great artwork) to somehow offering 500 options (welcome to Jersey!) but the menu was sleek and small and not the classic long-and-heavy (and usually sticky and filthy) type that the "old guard" diners always use. Staff - friendly, efficient and they worked like a well-oiled machine to keep everything moving smoothly. (And they were all dressed-to-impress and looked like they might hit a trendy club in NYC after their shift was up.) Food - I mean, have you ever seen Moules Frites on a Jersey diner menu before?! (And I had a feeling the crew in the kitchen would've done a bang-up job on it, too.) I went with their Rueben (last time I had one of those President Carter was still in office) and it was killer. One kid went with a classic cheeseburger (but wasn't impressed and only ate half of it). Another kid got a chicken dinner (the portion size could've fed three people) and he really dug it (but the kinda-sorta garlic-bread it came with was probably his favorite item from the meal). Music - worth a mention because as soon as "It Must Be Love" by Madness was pumping out of the speakers I knew this place was legit. But (there's always a 'but', right?)... My Arnold Palmer wasn't great. It felt like someone emptied a sugar packet and let it sink to the bottom of the glass and we all know granulated sugar doesn't really dissolve well in cold liquids - so every time I took a sip of my drink my glucose levels shot through the roof. COVID might finally be in our rearview mirror but it was baffling that in a relatively empty dining room with plenty of open tables they clumped some families/tables (like ours!) on top of each other. Final snip: if you have a good looking "Handcrafted Burgers" section on your menu and already offer a 'Texas Burger' - how could you have missed the opportunity to do a Jersey-themed one with Taylor ham on top of the patty?! The diner is airport-themed so you call it "The Love-At-First-Flight Burger" and you're printing money. Small hiccups aside - with tasty epic portions (hovering around $20 per entrée) - I do believe we found a diner worth frequenting again. Came here with family, including several kiddos because I saw the great reviews and photos. The diner did not disappoint. It's very clean and neat, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, and the servers were all very pleasant, eager to answer questions and helpful while we ordered. The food was very good, it was above par of other NJ diners by a good bit. The food was flavorful, hot, and well portioned diner-wise. We all took half our plates home, except for the home fries which were the only thing that we did not care for. We were surprise that that they were not well seasoned and a little limp. The coffee was also very good and I particularly liked that they had fresh juice, such as freshly squeezed orange juice, and apple juice. Food here may be okay, place could be clean but urge to be careful to keep receipts and compare when your credit card statement comes. It was our first time there and was looking forward however there was a slight issue with one of our burgers so we sent it back. The server since that moment never cared to give us decent service anymore. In fact we never saw her again! Just compared the card statement to pay today and realized they voluntarily tacked on an extra amount as their "tip" despite us already leaving more than 15% for the lack of service. We don't have time to call the card company for such a small amount, however learned our lesson and will not return again. We went today with some friends we were told that they were really good so worth a shot. It's a typical diner with clueless employees. We didn't have one waitress but maybe 4 incompetent ones. Never paid attention to our table/booth. Asked for things 3 to 4 times to actually get them. Never once asked how was the food, more water, more drinks. The food here is awful, dry, overcooked, unseasoned. The crepes S'mores nothing like it's described on the menu a 1/2 teaspoon of Nutella in side a hard and dry crepe with stale mini marshmallows around it. Crepe #2 banana and strawberries- again dry and no filling. Egg Benedict with Hash-browns, over cooked eggs and the potatoes were not seasoned no amount of hot sauce could save it. Asked for Rye toast, they offered it but kept bringing white out. Shaking my damn head. Omelet was way over done and burnt not even seasoned. Sunny side up egg.... They didn't follow instructions at all it was fried and over done. We tried getting the waitress attention but they ignored our table. Definitely not Will not be back to this place. read more

Wow, this place should not be called a diner but runway cafeteria. It doesn't deserve the diner title. The food here is awful. I can only compare it to cafeteria food and that's being gracious. The appearance looks ok but the quality is very low grade. How can you call yourself a diner and use pre-made chicken patties for chicken parm. Yuck!! As for decor, place doe not look anything like a typical Jersey diner. More like a squanky Chinese restaurant. This is a new diner in this area. Pulling up it seemed to be a popular place. When we got in it seemed like everyone was ordering a dinner special. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. They were nice and warm with a good cheese pull. Then we ordered the short rib panini with waffle fries and I ordered just a chicken finger appetizer for my meal. The panini was good but kind of dry and could have used a little more sauce. The fingers were good, but just average like any other fingers. I have a pet peeve about CARAMELIZED ONIONS there is only one meaning to that Onions cooked down slowly to their buttery sweetness not crunchy in any way ask any chef worth his salt. I get the cost of losing the volume of onion that this shrinks, for the prices on the menu this should not even be an issue , the end it's either about money or laziness . After running an errand, my partner and I made a repeat performance to this establishment for a quick bite escaping from the cold. The parking lot was crowded, but when we walked in , social distancing was enforced as the patrons were spaced apart and enjoying their meal. Everything here is so tasty and I am never disappointed. The environment is inviting and relaxed. We had originally called and asked to sit outside because we wanted to bring our dog. When we got there they weren't sitting anyone outside anymore. They let us bring our little dog inside (granted our dog is 13 pounds and they did ask us the size of the dog while I was checking in, while my partner waited outside so just be aware of that). I will never be back. Aside from the service not being that great, upon your card being ran, you will see their tip percentages aren't correct. Not only that, but the total will also be wrong upon the addition of the incorrect tip amount. To make matters worse, they'll run your card for more than what you've written. I called the diner to ask why this occurred. I received a call back, offered to refund the over charge of 3$ or to have a credit.
