This place has really gone down hill since cafe le maison days. The food quality has dropped as prices sky rocketed. The value is not there anymore. I would rank this food quality vs price lower then bad diner food. Today we went with a party of 3. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich. Comes with no side and not even a pickle or coldslaw for $17.50. The sandwich itself had very little meat on less then 6 inch bread. The bread quality was horrible as well...tasted nothing like an original cheese steak. When the bill came out they auto charged a 20% tip and then asked for more tip on top of it. When my buddy confronted the owner she played dumb. I use to like this small corner place alot. The food is now subpar and the owners are also trying to take advantage of customers. Eggity Eight Cafe is a GEM! The owner's Malaysian heritage and warm hospitality make this restaurant a true destination. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with such genuine care that we honestly felt like VIPs. The food was fantastic and you can tell everything is made with fresh ingredients and a lot of love. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelette, the spicy house burger, and the Malaysian peanut corn pancake--every single dish was excellent. Even the little details stood out. The sweet potato fries were fresh and perfectly fried, and the burger patty had those crispy edges with the perfect char that make a burger really special. Their house specialty drinks are also worth mentioning. They have these freshly squeezed fruit matcha juices that taste incredibly fresh and thoughtfully made--nothing like the overly sweet, mass-produced drinks you get at most tea shops. And Jessie, the hostess, really made the experience memorable. Her enthusiasm, confidence in her recommendations, and the way she warmly connects with customers is something you don't see often anymore. She truly made us feel welcome. Jessie (hi Jessie!) was the one who greeted us when we first entered and sat us down. She was very kind and personable, not only to us but to other patrons in the cafe as well. She had a very joyful energy and was excited to make recommendations on new menu additions. Since I was intent on trying something new, I opted for the Shashuka that comes with pita bread on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly! The yolks were balanced between jammy and Runny, making for a wonderfully rich addition to the overall flavor of the dish. The vegetables within the tomato sauce were very fresh and added to a very enjoyable texture experience. I am happy to say that Shakshouka will be a recurring favorite from here on out. The portion size is definitely filling. You could most certainly share this dish! We also tried out the matcha offered at the cafe. It was delightful. The blueberry matcha had a blueberry base made in-house with fresh blueberries. The matcha was so delicious that I am still thinking about it several hours later. While enjoying our meal, it is easy to notice how consistent they are with customer service. From interactions with regulars to new customers, we were treated very well. There were a lot of stuff around but not bad. The service was good but my egg sandwich was mediocre. There was only 2 think slices of Taylor ham and the cheese was not melted. I also asked for pepper and ketchup. I did taste ketchup. The ambiance was messy and cluttered. The baked goods were prepackaged and not mage there. They were from Joey's. The coffee was good. I might go back. And go at your own risk. There were two people eating at a table by the door and a family of three eating in the dining room. read more

Eggty8 combines the comfort of home cooked meals and the ambiance of a beautiful Parisian cafe. The food is delicious, from the Chicken Goat Cheese Walnut salad which is sweet, crisp and filling! To the Chicken Quesadilla and the Phillycheese steak are classics that they make so delicious. The Thai Chicken Salad one of my favorite salads I've ever had, it is something you will crave more once you have it! This is a very nice spot for breakfast/brunch on the weekend in Fort Lee. Staff is very friendly and service is good. Spacious and follows social distancing measures which is great. Seating outside and inside...your choice. So many options to choose from but I decided to make my own omelette with mushrooms and spinach, bacon on the side, home fries (ooh wish they had hash browns) and white toast) and hot tea. It was delicious and was with great company. Very enjoyable morning breakfast before starting the day. love the big clock on the wall. No parking in front but there is a municipal lot down the block. All the kick at the front door make you want to turn around and walk right back out! It looks like, HOARDERS Opened a restaurant". Even the bathroom is blocked with stuff!! The kitchen is old and dirty; it like it has grease from years and years and years and more years!!!! Points for extending the breakfast menu to 4pm, because breakfast food can and should be enjoyed at all hours of the day. They also have a lunch menu with a ton of different options for salads, sandwiches, and burgers. I ordered the mango smoothie, croissant, and yogurt parfait. The smoothie was a nice consistency but tasted very little of anything. Had the faintest whiff of mango with no sweetness. I brought back most of it and doctored it up at home with some honey. Croissant came toasted but I really should have eaten it immediately. Letting it sit for a few minutes turned the whole thing sadly stale. My parfait was good, with a generous helping of sliced strawberries and bananas, and hefty chunks of granola. My mom got the Alaskan omelette, a brunch special, but on closer inspection, saw it was mostly hunks of the imitation crab meat rather than salmon. The omelette itself was a beautiful golden color, with slightly burnt edges, but the taste was lacking a little. Mostly salty. Best parts of the plate were the four-grain toast and the home fries. My dad loved his grilled vegetable salad with chicken. The dressing on the side, some sort of balsamic vinegar, had a nice zing. Think it came out to about $60. The Edgewater: the wrap was a standard basic wrap so no complaints but no compliments either The Eggty 8 Spicy Grilled Chicken Sandwich: I don't know where to begin. I could only eat half of this sandwich. It was drenched in "spicy" Mayo and was soggy and bland which is crazy. It was extremely underwhelming and was inedible We ordered a side of fries which the lady wrote down on a note pad and repeated back to me but when we arrived home, they did not include. Also, check your receipt! They charged me a service fee on top of tax. Safe to say, I will not be returning back. read more

Nice patio space for people watching in the summertime, too. Cutely named cafe, but food was underwhelming. Came here on a Saturday morning around 10AM. It wasn't crowded, but had a decent amount of people. It's a full service restaurant, but you do pay at the cashier in the front. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my boyfriend ordered an omelette with a few toppings. They both came with potatoes (home fries) and his came with 4 slices of toast as well. Honestly I thought the eggs benny was VERY mediocre, and I didn't quite like it. There was so much sauce, the egg white was really undercooked, and the biscuit that it was on tasted a bit stale. However, my boyfriend thought it was pretty good so maybe, I, personally didn't like the way they made it. I tried the omelette and I felt it was a bit dry as well. Both dishes were edible and I wouldn't say they were /bad/, but they weren't amazing either. We also ordered iced coffees, which I enjoyed. The food is fresh and the service is quick. The inside atmosphere reminds me of Cheers where it seems like they have regulars and everyone knows your name (except mine of course). Came here for brunch last month. The cafe is an interesting set up. It looks like a deli when you enter but they have a spacious dining room space when you walk around the counter. We ordered an assortment of brunch plates, pancakes, and orange juice. The freshly squeezed orange juice was the best thing we got. The lox with scrambled eggs were good but the toast and the home fries were not great. The toast seemed a bit stale and the home fries also seemed like it was tossed around the skillet for days. The pancakes looked a lot like McDonald's hot cakes but actually tasted quite good. The food came so fast and the service was nice but it seemed like they were rushing to turn tables quickly. I appreciate that their menu is unique with items like an Asian omelet with Chinese sausage. My son really liked looking at the cute kids artwork hung up on the wall. But all in all, there are probably better breakfast or brunch options or there but this is for you if you're looking for a quick but hearty bite and looking for a mix of traditional brunch fare and Asian fusion flair. read more

Found this cute modern place after a visit to Madonna Cemetery. Parking for 2 cars was easy at 11:45 am. Menu had a good number of options; I ordered the special- a lamb warm bowl which was delicious. The fresh roasted turkey was very good on both the panini and a bowl. Grilled chicken spinach salad was also very good. Ordered a few meals to go as well. Prices seem high but I am from a different county farther from NYC so hard to say for sure. I was lucky enough to enjoy ny linner (lunch/dinner) here on Sunday afternoon. Let's start with the decor. It's French themed but the food menu has changed. It's a homey atmosphere with comfortable seating. The staff was wonderful and we were able to meet the owner James and his wife. Both were delightful and were very meticulous when bringing out food. They definitely made us feel important asking us for refills and napkins. The food.. Well we ate a lot of food that we left in a food coma. We started with the spring egg rolls which were absolutely delicious. What made them so delicious was the sauce. I can't pinpoint what the sauce was, but it was good. Then we enjoyed deep fried dumplings which were also good but the spring rolls were definitely better. We then had an eggplant panini sandwich on a whole wheat roll with fresh mozzarella. This was one of my favorite entrees so far here. We also had chicken quesadillas which were typically good. Followed by blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup. They were fluffy and felt like I was eating healthy just because of the syrup and blueberries. We finally ended with the chicken goat cheese salad which was extra refreshing.
