Who doesn't love a restaurant that's open on holidays? Looking for some food after a long night, my boyfriend and I stopped by on New Years and were greeted with the friendliest staff. This tiny cafe has a menu that rivals your favorite diner. With the numerous options from Challah French Toast to Paninis to Pasta, it took us a while to read through the menu. I got a garden omelette which came with a side salad and toast. My boyfriend went for a lighter meal with a parfait, coffee and orange juice. We both loved the orange juice as it was freshly squeezed, which made all the difference. All the staff members were so kind and we saw many regulars come in during our time there who the staff knew by name. While they have a parking lot, the lot is small (fits about 4 cars) and was filled up when we went. Luckily, we were able to find parking a block away. If you're looking for a new breakfast/brunch/cafe to try, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. read more

Had Mother's Day Sunday Brunch delivered from here today and it was very good. I had the BLT eggs Benedict and it was ok, the bacon had issues. We also had blueberry pancakes that nice. Very friendly and attentive staff. Cozy atmosphere and nice place for brunch with the family. I must say what brings this review down a notch for me are the extra charges.Two eggs any style is almost $9.50 and they charge an extra $5 for meat. We were allowed to substitute home fries for a fruit salad which consisted of just honeydew and pineapple but at an additional $2 cost. I won't be going back. The interior is clean and cute. I found the items to be a bit pricey however for the amount and type of food we ordered. A lot of the items had extra add on fees for toppings or sides. I have been to Eggty 8 on three separate occasions. The first time I absolutely hated it. I don't remember how old I was nor what food I ate, but I just remember eating there with my mom and being angry with her when I left. The second time, I went on a run with two of my friends and we rewarded ourselves with some food. Eggty 8 happened to be right in front of us by the time we got tired so we tried it out and it was absolutely delicious. I can't remember if it was actually that amazing or if we were just extra hungry. Nevertheless, it was a really good memory and made me want to go back. I recently at here again with an old friend from high school and I was met with great hospitality from a waitress I recognized from the last time I had dined there. The only bummer was that I asked if I could order two kids' menu items and she said "no". (sad face) There are a ton of good restaurants in Fort Lee and this place's location is a little out of the way. Had a better experience the first time I came here, so taking that into account, but couldn't give it a four stars anyway. Pancakes here are leaps better than the French toast. Pancakes taste almost homemade, a really nice breakfast. The French toast however tasted generic and was not enjoyable at all. Omelette wasn't great either and came out lukewarm with the cheese already re solidified instead of being nice and melty. Chai tea is pretty good, not the best but it is enjoyable and fine for a brunch. Eating here alone is kinda weird so grab a friend to do so. Not so much a date spot because it's pretty mediocre with better alternatives if you ask me. 3/5 because some of the items aren't good and 50 bucks for three peoples orders of wet bread and hot water is pretty steep. read more

They turned me on to a Laduree Maria Antoinette blend that is perfection, so delicate and aromatic. The perfect blend of rose petals honey apple. The price is actually good. I believe it was like 4.50 for a small pot served with royal Albert branded teapot and cup. When I looked to purchase this blend online it was like 3 dollars for each tea bag. read more

Love the name of this place. You'll have eggcelent breakfast options. Be sure to check the smoothies, they've run out of the berry one on multiple occasions. Friend and I came on a Sunday afternoon. No wait because we dodged the breakfast crowd, fact: we were hungover, breakfast crowd dodged us. I order a crab omelette and my friend gets a western omelette. Picture this, I leave my friend unattended for 1 minute to wash my hands. I return and find out our meal was paid for by the generous and humoresque lady seated next to us. This place was EGG-CELLENT!!! Love it! Got here super early this morning. Was in the mood for French toast. Staff was super friendly and polite. Not pushy and great with timing! Food was great! Had the challah French toast with extra crispy bacon. Dishes were NOT greasy which I loved!!! Great portions! Not too little and not overly plated! Had the special tea from Kumsani (?) line. It was strawberry green tea! Ahhhazing! It was set up so cute. Had my own little Victorian/Parisian tea pot and tea cup with plate and little spoon! The place was CLEAN, simple and fresh! Seemed like everything was homemade and from scratch! There's no parking lot but it's ok. On the weekends there's street and empty parking lot parking. Two stars. Came here for a weekend brunch around 10:30 a.m. The place was pretty empty considering that it would be the prime time for brunch. We got seated right away. Coffee au lait didn't have much of a coffee taste, just a lot of milk. Ice coffee was just bland. Nothing special. Pancakes!! I saw three different types of pancakes - original, blueberry, and orange and walnut - and I chose the orange and walnut pancakes. It was $5 more than regular pancakes. Again, nothing special. Just pancakes with orange slices and very minimal amount of walnuts. The orange sauce was too tangy to go with the pancakes so I asked for maple syrup and butter. My quest to find the perfect, fluffy, light pancakes would need to continue. They forgot to serve us water. There is a parking lot at the back of the building that is shared by 3 other stores. Very very limited parking. I street parked about 4 blocks away. Street parking are metered around this area, 4 quarters per hr except Sunday and holidays. read more

I'm not trying to be mean but I got ripped off. I asked for a Cafe Moca and it was kind of obvious that the lady didn't know what I was talking about, but instead of saying that, she took my order and gave me a coffee with foam on the top. I thought she AT LEAST put some chocolate syrup in it or something, but when I left the cafe I realized it was regular coffee with some foam on top to disguise it and make it look like a more expensive coffee product. I also ordered a ham, egg and cheese on a roll. This order totaled to about $18. It was extremely expensive for what it was. Now I know this is pretty much the only place in Fort Lee where you can get a quick egg sandwich and coffee combo but $18 was ridiculous. Egg sandwich and a regular cup of coffee should have been about 7 or 8 bucks. Come on. They are nice people and it's a cute cafe in a good location so I gave them the 3 stars. read more

This place blew me away. I usually don't give 5 stars reviews right out the gate unless the place proves it's the BEST of its kind and is consistent. This place met both criteria right out the gate! I went to this place for brunch literally BACK TO BACK Saturday and Sunday. They offer outdoor seating (even though we sat inside because it's also so cute and charming). They have a large variety of fresh breakfast options; but they also have a large list of amazing lunch options. Hence, BRUNCH here is amazing. You can tell their dishes are made with a little TLC. Not many places can do the "cafe" genre well and with the sandwiches and breakfasts I've tried over the last 2 times I went (with 4 people) this place nails it. I like that they mainly have an a la Cart type of menu. You can go in with 10$ and get a sandwich if your feeling it, and skip on the side. Or add the side for a couple bucks extra. Their breakfast also hit the nail on the head. It's light, and fresh. Not like those big chain breakfast places where you walk out and easily could of confused what you ate for a heavy dessert. The chicken Brie sundried tomato sandwich my sister ordered was INSANELY delicious. The smoked salmon was exactly what I wanted out of a lox sandwich. The eggplant chicken was a favorite of the group as well. The French toast, delicious! I even tried the goat cheese chicken quesadilla. oh-my-goodness. STOPPIT-just -knock it off eggty 8! You're making my taste buds explode!! I even ordered a sandwich for the hubby to go cuz I had to have him try it; triple decker TO DIE FOR. They also have fresh squeezed and blended juices! I was lucky enough to enjoy ny linner (lunch/dinner) here on Sunday afternoon. Let's start with the decor. It's French themed but the food menu has changed. It's a homey atmosphere with comfortable seating. The staff was wonderful and we were able to meet the owner James and his wife. Both were delightful and were very meticulous when bringing out food. They definitely made us feel important asking us for refills and napkins. The food.. Well we ate a lot of food that we left in a food coma. We started with the spring egg rolls which were absolutely delicious. What made them so delicious was the sauce. I can't pinpoint what the sauce was, but it was good. Then we enjoyed deep fried dumplings which were also good but the spring rolls were definitely better. We then had an eggplant panini sandwich on a whole wheat roll with fresh mozzarella. This was one of my favorite entrees so far here. We also had chicken quesadillas which were typically good. Followed by blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup. They were fluffy and felt like I was eating healthy just because of the syrup and blueberries. We finally ended with the chicken goat cheese salad which was extra refreshing. The atmosphere is the same and everything else is the same as before (besides the name and ownership change) We had the fresh squeezed lemonade which was nothing spectacular, and the iced coffee with was okay too. The food however.... My friend had an omlette which was overcooked and had too little of the extra ingredients (spinach, cheese, etc) I had the eggs benedict which was worse. The sauce tasted as if it was straight from a can. The homefries, which I was looking forward to, were really starchy and bland. It was the type of starchy texture you get from old potatoes or the cheap kinds you get for 2 dollars a bag on sale. At first I just thought those were the syrup flavors, but my pancakes had walnuts and peaches in them. I needed a minute to wrap my head around the idea of peaches in my pancakes. I'm a fan of iced coffee served in mason jars so when my drink was served to me in that I was ecstatic to say the least. The coffee was decent. This is a really great little place that has a big selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and burgers, but honestly not that many eggs. I'm not sure why it's called Eggty8 because there's only about 5 things with eggs on the menu. But instead of getting caught up in the name, lets get into the food. They always have chicken noodle soup and a soup of the day and they can make their wraps into sandwiches if you ask. I love their 7 grain bread and they slightly toast your bread automatically which I love! When I was here there were two old ladies sitting and reading their newspapers. They didn't say a word to each other but ate their chicken soups in peace while people watching in between. Sunday my daughter, wife & me walked into a packed dining room and were seated in under five minutes. Service was point on. Variety of egg dishes and lunch wraps were phenomenal. From the chicken quesadillas my daughter had to the delicious original shakshouka egg dish in a cast iron skillet my wife had. This quiet gem has its own parking and is conveniently located off Main Street minutes from the George Washington Bridge. Came here for brunch on Monday and was actually really surprised. I felt bad for eating a lot the previous night so I ordered the Cobb salad and I just say the grilled chicken was on point!!! Totally juicy and was really nicely flavored. Makes me want to go back ASAP just because of the salad and I also want to give their burgers a try. When in mood for some sun dried tomatoes & brie w/grilled chix sandwich, this is my goto place. Easy, friendly staff, quick service and location is very convenient. On multiple occations, tried their breakfast / brunch & lunch menus and food has always been decent +. I feel consistency is always a plus for a food business. Ordered eggs benedict and when trying to ask for wheat toast, the waitress told me my order didn't come with toast. When telling her the menu shows it comes with it, she just said not the eggs benedict. I didn't argue further even though the menu clearly says it because it wasn't worth it for a piece of toast. When the food came, which I substituted the home fries for the sweet potato fries, the fries looked sparse it looked like it had been picked at. When commenting and half joking to the waitress that the fries were weak, she said it's because it cost $0.95 to substitute instead of paying full price for the fries. Food was mediocre.
