One of my favorite places for a peaceful Saturday morning brunch. We always get eggs, bacon, home fries and either pancakes or french toast. Everything is made perfectly and not overdone. Crispy bacon, eggs cooked to order, and generous sizes of toast and pancakes. And who doesn't love iced coffee in a mason jar? Definitely a nice touch. The food, cheap prices, and super friendly service make this a great go-to spot for brunch or any meal. read more

Not sure why there were so many poor reviews on the service for this place. Our first time and we enjoyed the food and the service. About four to the waitstaff and they all partnered and accommodated our needs. We were there for Saturday late breakfast around 11am. My husband ordered eggs Benedict with a side of bacon and I ordered the omelettes scrambled soft with loads of veggies. Overall, the food was very tasty. And their home fries, u just have to finish it all. We will return again as they have a robust menu. The place was pretty full and everyone seemed contempt and all the food looked great. I dont know how you couldn't give this place 5 stars based on my experience Very cool cafe in Fort Lee in the cut lol. Service is great and staff very personable. first time coming here and they have tons of options, including various Benedicts and omelettes plus the lunch menu (which has good panini options with Brunch). The cafe is kids-friendly I highly recommend the "21" wrap if you a wrap person like myself, they're filling and delicious. I will be back to try other things on the menu. I actually came here a couple years ago - my fiancé and I walked in and we never got seated, so we left. Haven't returned since a couple weeks ago. We have it another try given that it has good reviews. The waiter was so kind and really knowledgeable of the food. I had the lox scramble and my fiancé had the seafood omelette. Wow, both were really well made - you know, the creamy egg scramble? Not the rubbery kind, no. My finances dish was better than mine, I'll probably get that next time. We also ordered a carrot/apple fresh juice to go and that was made in a timely manner. We are glad to have come back and visited, it has a lot more to offer than I originally thought! read more

Cute little breakfast/lunch/brunch spot. I'm not a huge pancake fan, but their pancakes are very good. They're soft and not too sweet. Next time I come, I plan on ordering their specialty pancakes. The owners take pride in their pancakes, they said they're french.I've had their breakfast sandwiches and their salmon egg Benedict with side salad, and they hit the spot. Came here for a late breakfast wanting to try something new. It's a quaint little spot with, heads up, a very small parking lot (I had to find street parking a little farther down). The ambiance was aight but nothing special. The same could be said about the service. Nothing great but nothing bad. Onto the food. We had their french toast and their blueberry-orange pancakes. The french toast was pretty good but again... nothing really special. The pancakes, though, were a little unexpected as they haven't followed the theme of the rest of the place, meaning that it was better than average. I enjoyed the pancakes a lot and I'm not a huge pancake person to begin with. So I wouldn't tell anyone to avoid this place but I definitely wouldn't be gung ho in a recommendation. If you do find yourself here, however, I do recommend the blueberry-orange pancakes. read more

I came here for brunch wth my friend..first visit here for both of us. The staff was nice but I felt like we ended up waiting a while to give our orders. I overheard the staff saying there was a large table inside that had a lot of orders. In any case, it was nice enough to sit out and enjoy brunch. I ordered a seafood omlette. It was cooked well and was a decent portion. The scallion pancake we ordered on the side was ok but nothing to rave about. I felt like it was mostly doughy. The Benedict was good but almost like any other Benedict. Our server was nice and I'm giving this spot 4 stars because he noticed a bug in my coffee and gave me a fresh cup! If you come on a weekend, give them a call to confirm where you can park because you maybe able to park Ina nearby lot for free! read more

The actual scrambled eggs were good. But everything else unordered, from the toast to the crossaint to the coffee was very underwhelming. Fronbthe outside the place looks upscale, but once you're inside you see that it's a mom & pop establishment trying to keep the cost down. Service was less than spectacular, and when I'm paying that price I expect more. They will stay in business, not because they're good, but because there's no other place in Fort Lee that does a good breakfast/brunch. read more

Quite surprised at all the rave reviews for this place. Went for breakfast this past Saturday morning with my boyfriend and did not find myself as impressed as other reviewers. To drink we both had iced coffees. Not bad, slightly watered down. Should have definitely gone with a pot of tea because their tea selection is wonderful and the tea pots are very cute. We both ordered off the brunch menu (which consists of only 4 choices) - I had the Nova Benedict and he had the Alaskan omelet (something like that) which had smoked salmon and crab. First MAJOR no-no was that they did not specify that the crab in the omelet was FAKE. False advertising and also just gross. Made the omelet extremely fishy and unappetizing. Neither of us much cared for that dish. 2 stars for the omelet. My Nova Benedict was delicious however - smoked salmon, avocado, poached egg, Hollandaise sauce on english muffin. Hollandaise was good and had a good consistency (it can be thick and gluey sometimes) - this dish is a solid 4 stars. Hope to come back and have a more pleasing experience with tea and pancakes. read more

This is not a bad place for brunch. We were looking for a new place to have brunch while visiting my parents and this place seemed to fit the bill. It's pretty cute on the inside and I suppose we went at a strange enough time to get seating right away. For drinks we had regular coffee and an iced tea. My boyfriend thought the iced tea was good and the drip coffee is decent. I was disappointed to find out they had no substitute for cow's milk such as almond or soy milk. I really think it's strange for a place in Fort Lee (pretty progressive, close to New York) to not have any cow's milk substitute. Anyway, my mom ordered the omelette with vegetables and that salad with mozzarella on the side (I can't remember the name!), my dad ordered the eggs benedict, my boyfriend ordered the tuna melt and I ordered the nova benedict. My parents didn't comment much on the food, except for the fact that my mom would have rather had the mozzarella in the omelette so I'm not sure if that stuff was good. My boyfriend and I shared ours. The nova benedict wasn't bad, but the eggs seemed under cooked and I have had better elsewhere. The tuna melt, however, was quite good. I don't think you can go wrong with a tuna melt unless the tuna is bad or you don't like tuna. As I mentioned, I liked the atmosphere and they have really cute tea cups. I'm a sucker for cute mugs and tea cups. The service was pretty quick, which is always nice. I suppose I'm just really spoiled by all the amazing brunch places in New York so this place didn't particularly "wow" me. This place is one of nicest cafes I've been to. We were a party of 6 kids and 5 adults and the hosts did an excellent job. Extremely patient, served us with a smile and not once they got upset with the noise levels. The food was at par with the service and better. Definitely going back!! read more

Food was good but service was worst I experienced in Fort Lee. If you want to enjoy your breakfast and not be rushed or deal with frazzled and uncaring staff, then DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. The waiter, frazzled by some internal misunderstanding among the staff literally spilled milk on my leather jacket and didn't even apologize and when was confronted just said: "I will put it in the cleaner" and walked away. Not to bash this establishment but it's definitely nothing to brag about. The place itself is pretty nice inside with nice seating outside also available. But the positives stop there. Food is well under seasoned and lacking flavor. My friend and I have been there twice. This first time, we both had two different versions of their eggs Benedict. She had a regular while I had the one with lox. Both ok, nothing special. The service was pretty good though and we had a pleasant time. Second time around (last weekend) was definitely deserving of the one star I'm dishing out for this review. First the food. Well, it sucked! We had the Sunny Chicken and Brie sandwich. It was so flavorless and the roasted peppers completely masked the Brie cheese which was the reason we were enticed to order it in the first place. The chicken was way under seasoned and lacked any balanced flavor. It was a flavor FAIL. I personally ordered the Shashuka which once again also lacked flavor. I never had it before and was really excited to try it out when someone the previous time I was there had ordered it. Lacked flavor although I did appreciate the abundance of tomatoes and sauce it came with. The icing on the cake (and the reason we will never come back) was the service. We had this blonde chick server (it was a Sunday morning) who may have just woken up on the wrong side of the bed. She was attitude all day. My friend ordered home fries and when she brought out regular fries, she blamed my friend for it accusing her of ordering regular fries. I had to put a stop to that nonsense quick! How do you accuse someone of ordering the wrong thing? I was sitting right there when she clearly ordered home fries. I suggest people find elsewhere to have breakfast. read more

I am not trying to be the food snub here, but I am not really impressed with the food. For a breakfast/ lunch place, they have a little bit of everything for everyone. They have salad, pasta, sandwich, wrap, quesadilla, hamburgers .... I was wanting to order the hamburger but changed my mind and ordered the goat cheese and chicken quesadilla after I saw the photos yelper shared and it looked really tempting. However, I was disappointed after my first bite. They put too many sundried tomatoes in the quesadilla, I can't taste anything else but only the saltiness of goat cheese and sourness of sundried tomatoes. I didn't enjoy it at all. Given the brunch places in Fort Lee are really limited , I can see myself coming back again to this place, but I will never order this dish again. Service is slow, I waited for over 10 mins but no one came to take my order or offered me some water, it was also another reason why I only gave it 3 stars. read more

I gotta say that the food here at Eggty 8 is really really good! So far I've tried their Edgewater Wrap which is pressed on a panini grill and it was just perfect. I realize that is unusual for a wrap but I really like the light crispiness that it adds! The grown up grilled cheese was also done perfectly well with the different kinds of cheeses perfectly melted and bacon still crispy, Absolutely Delicious! The wrap and grill cheese I had delivered and decided to go there for Sunday brunch with a few friends this past week and the food and service was all on point! They were very attentive and accommodating. I think they're still working out their process kinks as they had just opened but give them a chance and they will make it right. I'm sure those who had a bad experience just went through their growing pains here. I ordered the Lox Benedict which was delicious! I've had lox Benedict from many different diners but they definitely knock it out of the park for me here. The addition of avocado is a welcome touch and the hollandaise sauce was one of the best I've ever tasted! I can't seem to get enough of their food so I ordered delivery from the, again today and decided to try their pasta dishes. Their Pesto Penne with Chicken was soooo good! Pasta was perfectly al dente and their homemade pesto sauce was very flavorful and not over greasy! Definitely give this place a chance while they work out their hiccups! This place got renamed, but if i had to guess same owners and same wonderful people working there. I feel terrible for not knowing her name, but the waitress there is so attentive. My mom and i been going there last summer almost every weekend, and then for some while we stopped. Last weekend when we had brunch there, she remembered us and was asking what happened, and that felt good that she remembered us. They have great panini, many choices, they have great selection of teas. I never got disappointed with the food, it's always been fresh and tasted amazing. Thank you guys, and keep up the good work!! The tea is served in individual pots and matching tea cups. My tea was perfect. I chose the Detox - green tea and matte. Asian Chicken salad was presented on a wide plate with dressing in the center. I visited for the first time today. I ordered the Nova Salmon Benedict... $13, not cheap. The establishment was busy...I got there around 10:15 am. I chose to sit in the "cafe" section of the restaurant so I did not have to wait for a table. I ordered and waited well over 20 minutes to be served. Now my review...The eggs were not poached...they were raw and "snotty".The English muffin, I don't think it touched a toaster. For the first time ever in my life, I sent a meal back.I truly could not eat it. I stood up and walked over toward the doorway in order to get attention. A man noticed me, I'm assuming the owner/manager (as he did socialize with other patrons) and I showed that my eggs were not poached, but, raw. He took my plate and returned 10 minutes later with not a new dish, but the raw eggs removed and replaced with properly poached eggs and and covered abundance of hollandaise sauce. So, now, I'm served poached eggs over cold, untoasted English Muffin...and still runny raw egg left in my plate. Also, the salad wasn't dressed...sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and what seemed to be store bought mixed greens. The table next to me also had an issue with there order. An order that was sent back. I love and value Yelp. I rarely speak poorly of establishments. But, I would have liked to have been served a new plate of food, especially after showing the owner/manager that the eggs were grossly raw. I actually really REALLY like this place and frequent it. I have to give it 4 stars because the service aggressively struggles from on occasion (and I need to be honest with my fellow yelpers!) and they really have a misleading name- hardly a breakfast joint. To really be satisfied with coming to this place you need to anticipate a local, better, perfect 'Panera', if you will. Specialty sandwiches and salads galore! What a disappointing experience. This is one of the few places near me where you can get outside seating so we decided to take advantage of the amazing weather and try it out (despite reading the previous Yelp reviews beforehand). For my meal, I ordered an omelette. The potatoes were delicious; however I found the omelette borderline insulting! I ordered ham in my omelette and there were a probably four chunks of ham in there. Given the price of the meal, I really expected more. The cheese was also thrown in the omelette as chunks, it wasn't the melted cheese you'd expect when you cut through your omelette. The one other experience I enjoyed outside of the potatoes was their coffee. I got an iced coffee and it was in a decently sized mason jar which I absolutely loved! The server also completely neglected us, and we had to go inside to flag him out for strawberry jelly, our check and to pay. Although the place itself is cute with good atmosphere, the quality of the food compared to the price was just not worth it for me. Safe to say, unless it's grabbing coffee with a friend, I won't be returning here for a meal. read more

This place is fantastic for breakfast or brunch. The key ingredients to a great relaxing breakfast include: a warm, welcoming environment, attentive and friendly service, good food and even better coffee and tea. This place hits all those points. Breakfast in this area can be a bit tough, with many places being a complete zoo and parking being absurd. While this is a smaller place, you will find little difficulty finding parking either in the back, on the street (free on Sunday) or a nearby municipal pay lot a bit across the street. A bit more civilized than fighting for spots in a shopping plaza or having to valet at some other places (which I find a bit absurd for a diner). As far as the food, if you enjoy a plate of sugar or a pile of salt then this is not your place. If you enjoy appropriate amounts of seasoning and well-balanced flavors then you will be pleased. The blueberry orange pancakes were amazing and had perfect flavors and textures. Eggs Benedict also very solid and checks all the boxes. These people also know how to make a latte, and their tea selection and service is among the top places in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for a more civilized breakfast experience. Will be back for sure, and I will have to give lunch a shot as well. read more

Menu looked great, it looked great for the 15 mins we sat there as our table got skipped in order to tend to a bigger group who were probably regulars. The waitress probably thought "bigger tip".
