Wife and I visited the Montvale location and was excited that there is now one in Paramus. We came here for breakfast and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely come here more often for our breakfast stops.

Good! Enjoyed my chicken veggie sandwich in gluten free toast with pesto sauce. Yum. Loved the homefries (good with strawberry preserves for some salty and sweet!) and fresh mesclun salad greens. I wish they had more gluten free options like for pancakes, waffles, or french toast, but the food was fresh and delicious! Our server was very nice too.

On a grits mission -- and they did not disappoint. The grits were delicious, but be prepared for the butter and/or cheese (definitely indulgent). Quick disclaimer: First Watch Benedicts are served on one long piece of bread, with a knife provided so you can cut and portion it yourself. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with salmon flavorful, and satisfying. It was very busy, but the staff was attentive and kept the coffee coming. A solid, comforting brunch spot.

First Watch 1 Bergen Town Center Paramus, NJ 07652 Coffee Double Bacon Parmesan Hash This breakfast & brunch chain restaurant recently opened within the complex of the Bergen Town Center mall. It is not located inside the mall, but in the lower level parking lot next to Home Goods. I knew this location was going to be on the money because there was an hour wait when my girlfriend and I checked in. To entertain yourself while you wait, window in the surrounding stores until you receive a text message alerting you that your table is ready. When we were seated, I was impressed already. The chairs are comfortable and they automatically provided all three utensils; most places only provide a fork and knife and I always have to request a spoon. These are a couple of the menu items I explored: Coffee: I usually never order coffee whenever I dine out because I am not a fan of milk or half & half. First Watch provides vanilla and hazelnut coffee creamers. As a bonus, the coffee is served in a refillable carafe ( similar to IHOP); if it is empty, the server will gladly refill it. Double Bacon Parmesan Hash: This was a unique, but phenomenal breakfast plate. I knew this signature item was going to be a winner when I saw the sidewalk billboard poster. It was topped with a vegetable medley, over easy eggs, bacon and smothered in Alfredo sauce. The plate was very filling and I didn't feel bloated afterwards. If you decide to dine here, I highly recommend arriving in the morning or early afternoon because they close every day at 2:30 PM. #firstwarch #firstwatchparamus #coffee #frenchvsnillacreamer #hazelnutcreamer #doublebaconparmesanhash

First Watch puts the GOOD in MORNING. It's a brunch restaurant franchise that specializes in serving fresh, high-quality, made-from-scratch, and locally sourced meals. There's a heavy emphasis on farm-to-table philosophy. The menu focuses exclusively on popular breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes like pancakes, waffles, omelettes, biscuits, power bowls, salads, sandwiches, fresh juices, etc. Prices are slightly higher compared to other brunch chains and diners, but you're paying more for higher quality ingredients. This is an ideal spot for those who are more health conscious. The Paramus location recently opened two months ago and it's already becoming a hotspot in the area! Parking can be a bit of a pain since it shares a large lot with other stores within the busy and bustling Bergen Town Center. We came in as a group of 9 on a Monday afternoon and were seated immediately. They're very busy on the weekends, so there will be wait times. They don't take reservations, but you can join the waitlist online. The interior is modern and casual with bright, natural lighting. The decor is simple with some antique and rustic touches. There are tables and booths for small and large groups. I ordered... *Cold Brew Coffee $4.59 - Not very good :( It was watery and practically flavorless. *Chickichanga with side of potatoes $14.49 (includes whipped cage-free eggs with spicy, all-natural chicken breast, chorizo, green chiles, cheddar and monterey jack cheese, onions, and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla topped with veracruz sauce and sour cream) - I really enjoyed this! The flour tortilla was hot and deep-fried to a nice crisp. The fillings and sauces were savory and hearty with the right balance of spice and tang. The melted cheeses were so creamy, making it a perfect comfort dish. The potatoes were fresh and well seasoned. *Cheesecake Holey Nutella Donuts $6.49 (mini donuts with whipped cheesecake filling topped with cinnamon sugar, nutella, spiced gingerbread cookie crumbles & glazed strawberries) - This is a good dessert option to share with a group. The donuts are small, but dense. The dough is cakey and fluffy. The cinnamon sugar and nutella drizzle will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth! The rest of my group ordered salads, carne asada breakfast tacos, waffles, eggs, bacon, and biscuits & gravy. Everyone was happy with the portion sizes, quality, and flavors of their food. We also shared two pots of freshly brewed, bold coffee. No complaints on the service. We were a large group and our server was friendly and efficient. Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. Overall, this was a satisfying experience! Prices are reasonable, food is fresh & flavorful, and service is friendly. I don't have much to complain about. I'm glad First Watch is in the neighborhood and I would definitely recommend trying them out for your next brunch!

This new brunch spot is located on the Route 4 side of parking lot in BTC. Modern cozy dining space with lots of seats available. We went there on Sunday noon time and surprisingly it wasn't packed. We got a table right away. The menu has lots of brunch style dishes, combos of half sandwich, green and soups and a variety of drinks. I loved the purple haze, it was citrusy but little sweet at the same time. I ordered the carne asada breakfast tacos from the holiday menu. It came with three soft tacos filled with eggs, beef cubes, pickled onion, avocado, pica de gallo, and the valentina hot sauce. All the ingredients together tasted delicious. It was a good portion for lunch. I was able to switch the beans with greens as well. The staff and our server all were very friendly. All the drinks and dishes came out within short time. Overall our whole family had a good brunch experience. We will be visiting here more often now since it's so close to our home.

First Watch newly opened at BTC Paramus. The diner restaurant is originally from CA. I like it very much. Clean and modern design inside. Enough space for customers between tables. I can see it will be very busy during weekend brunch hours. Big menu for breakfast items, sandwiches, sweets and for kids. I had the traditional breakfast with salad. Eggs are soft. Apple Chicken patty is quite unique flavor. Waffle is fluffy. Overall a great addition to BTC at Paramus. I will definitely come back again.

New spot by the Bergen Mall, located where the tire shop used to be. They have a few specials, the million dollar bacon is good with honey and the pepper I could've done without. The million dollar potatoes is the same thing as seasoned potatoes with the million dollar bacon crushed, and some sour cream, I didn't like that nearly as much. The salmon eggs Benedict was okay, it lacks moisture in the muffin/biscuit and the salmon was a bit bland. The seasoned potatoes, however are a nice touch on most dishes. Not a bad brunch place. Sarina a helpful and friendly staffer.

Came here for Valentine's Day weekend fully expecting chaos, and yes, it was packed. Luckily I checked in through the app, which made everything smooth. We were seated right when the app notified us. The restaurant was clean, bright, and well organized. Our first server, Samantha, was incredible. Polite, sweet, accommodating, and very patient since it was our first time at this location and the menu is pretty big. She joked around with us and made brunch genuinely fun. I started with the seasonal Pineapple Express drink. Pineapple, orange, coconut water, lime, agave, and a mint crystal rim. It tasted fresh, not syrupy, and super refreshing. Food wise, we ordered the Traditional Breakfast with bacon, fresh seasoned potatoes, and a biscuit. The biscuit was a little cold the first day, but everything else was great. I also got the limited time B.E.C. which was outstanding. Hardwood smoked bacon, folded eggs, aged cheddar, sweet peppers, arugula, Calabrian chili aioli, roasted garlic aioli on griddled sourdough. Buttery, slightly spicy, creamy, and packed with flavor. I added Bob's Red Mill cheesy grits and the blueberry lemon cornbread. The cornbread with whipped lemon butter was a sleeper hit. The potatoes were excellent, well seasoned but not overly salty. The bacon had that perfect edge crisp with great flavor. This location was so good we came back the next day. Same Traditional Breakfast, and this time the biscuit was warmer and the potatoes came in a full bowl. I switched it up and ordered the Bacado Omelet with bacon, avocado, Monterey Jack, pico, greens, and toast, plus cheesy grits again. The grits were even cheesier and creamier this time. I added sparkling water and a Belgian waffle for good measure. Everything was excellent. Great portions and fair pricing. Shoutout to our second server Ariday. Friendly, sweet, and very helpful. I also took home the limited Chimichurri Steak and Eggs Hash. Great portion, tender steak, and good flavors overall, but it was very salty which took away from it. Overall, great food and great service. Definitely recommend. We are already planning to come back to try the multigrain pancake, French toast, barbacoa chilaquiles bowl, chile chorizo omelet, holey donuts, million dollar potatoes, elevated egg sandwich, farmhouse hash, BLTE, and the Purple Haze.

My wife and I were doing some Saturday shopping and wandered into First Watch for a cozy brunch. Beware, there's usually a line -- yes, this place is that good. We opted for the window counter and skipped the line which was a 50 minute wait. Even so, our server was great and foos came out hot. The menu is varied with a slightly Latin slant on most dishes. I ordered the breakfast tacos and my wife had the elevated egg sandwich, both were excellent. It's so nice to have a good breakfast place open in the Bergen Town Center. We'll be back!

Breakfast/lunch spot with an updated diner-look. The servers were friendly and the atmosphere felt clean/good wake-me-up. Let them know if you want coffee or not, the will give you a jug/pitcher and charge (free refills). The coffee tasted like a okay-decent medium-roast and the "double bacon parmesean hash" was a solid, good meal for the start of the morning. They were able to get my over-medium eggs right. One thing to note, especially going with my friend whos an avid gym-goer, he was able to count his macros and calories better then other spots as he stated so thats a plus. I'd consider coming back again if I'm around the area for breakfast.

Wall sign & booths for farm style atmosphere

If you haven't been to a First Watch, the farm style theme is typical and the food selections match the theme. The food is consistent with most First Watch restaurants, and this was my experience here as well. The service was a little lax, but I was the first customer in for the morning. Overall, everything was pretty good.

Loved our first meal at First Watch! We've been waiting for it to open and finally got to try it out during opening week. Thank you for the free coffee and mugs! The inside is bright and open. If you get here before 8ish it's much less busy and you'll get fast service. For a restaurant that just opened, they were phenomenal. The food was on point and the service was above and beyond. I ate here with my toddler and it was super kid-friendly. Amazing addition to the neighborhood!

So, this one was a real doozy of a visit. The drinks were fair, with our order being a Goose Island…read moreIPA, Long Island iced tea, and a pomegranate martini. The service and food, on the other hand, were quite a mixed bag. We ordered a margherita pizza, pancake tacos, steak and eggs, and French toast with a side of sausage--the pizza, at least, was good. However, the "French toast" was more like an anemic panini press trying to pass as French toast. The steak and eggs comprised of a fairly well-cooked (that is, it was the right temperature) yet underseasoned steak of a relatively dubious cut, underseasoned home fries, and eggs done wrong (sunny side instead of over easy). The lattermost was the start of the problem, as I was willing to give it a shot, but found the texture off-putting. In light of this, I brought the problem to our server Adalia, who brought it to her manager Elvia. Thankfully I had someone else with me to tell me what happened: Elvia came over without addressing me on their error, silently took a look at my plate and instructed Adalia to have the kitchen put the eggs back on the fire. She takes my plate to extract the eggs, and brings them back (unsurprisingly) completely overdone, first in Elvia's hands, then in Adalia's for her to serve; we send for a refire, and they come back correct 7 minutes or so after I've already finished eating. Considering the hassle it took to get them, I couldn't trust it enough to eat, leading them to waste as well. After all was said and done, the GM Amer comes over to see how things were, and was thankfully helpful and understanding of our situation. Here's the rub: I was initially willing to overlook the steak, the home fries, and even the eggs if the error was properly ameliorated. Adalia and Amer both did very well, and I'm grateful for them for that; Elvia, on the other hand, managed to break the chain of competent customer service by directing the server to handle the problem in a way that was set up for failure (if you mess up an egg, it's an immediate refire because of how the egg cooks in the first place -- Amer also arrested to that policy) all without addressing us and taking accountability, due to negligence or whatever else. Not only that, but when sending the incorrect eggs over the second time, she couldn't even bring it to us herself--it would have been easy, seeing as she was the one that originally had them--and left Adalia and her tip to potentially take the fire if the patrons happen to be angry. Mistakes are fine--everyone makes them--but I'd describe this as cowardly more than anything else, and I take issue with that in particular from a leadership standpoint. While Amer graciously extended an invitation for a better experience next time, I can't say I'll be taking him up on the offer when their service and food are this misaligned; unfortunately, a disappointment overall.

I suggest you head towards the houses, away from town, if you can't find a spot. I've been anxious to try this place as the pictures look solid enough and reviewers thus far seem content. My wife and I entered with plans to have beer and apps. We ended up getting Guinness, onion rings, fried calamari and the Cooper's Burger. You can't beat a 22oz Guinness for $8. The prices on their website also match what you'll see inside. Lately I find so many restaurants are charging more than they advertise online. Service was great, friendly and very attentive. I was also surprised to see how well they clean tables between customers. Spray, wipe table, wipe lamp, shakers, etc. It's totally clean for the next customer. There are only 8 or so tables in here, plus bar seating. We enjoyed some comfy seats at a high top table for two. The onion rings were great - crisp and battered nicely so they hold together. While almost a little overcooked, they were still good and better than I had at the last high end steakhouse I went to. The fried calamari was fairly priced and a good portion. It had a light crispness, though bigger pieces would've been nicer. They were mostly small, but certainly a lot of it. The accompanying marinara was good and plentiful. We got the Cooper's Burger cooked medium and it came out medium. It's a simple burger that comes with lettuce and tomato. Some red onion wouldn't been nice. They charge extra for all sorts of stuff you can get on top - fried mushrooms, fried onions, eggs, etc. It also comes with fries, which were good. Overall, it was a nice cozy time. Several middle aged couples ate here that night and a couple small groups. No loud bar crowds as they're all on central avenue. In fact, I was surprised how nice the acoustics were inside. You can hear people at your table no problem, can hear the music inside at the right level and don't hear a lot of background chatter or noise. I'd most certainly return if in the mood for pub food. And ... No credit card fee!

We ordered two fish dishes (salmon and swordfish) and they were both delicious. The only thing I didn't really like was the rolls were ice cold and so was the butter. Wasn't something I was excited to eat on a cold Thanksgiving evening. The table next to mine was reserved for people who were dining alone and I noticed the waiters and owners made a point to chat with them and make sure they were okay. I look forward to coming here again one day.

Got a cozy window seating and loved the ambiance thanks to their floral interiors along with holiday ligthing right next to our table. Noise levels on the quiet side and easy to have conversations. They have a decent kids menu, and the Chicken Fingers ($10) were perfect for our little one. Huevos Rancheros ($19), and Vegetarian Omelette ($19) which was served with home fries and tossed salad was a good portion. Kimbo Coffee ($4.25) was actually pretty good although would've loved it to be warmer. Refills were slow to come. Food was inline with our expectations. Food arrived within 8-10 mins of placing our order, so yeah, really quick! Our initial server/waiter wasn't that attentive but their crew members were definitely more alert. Overall, pretty decent experience.

We were seated immediately and although our waitress gamely tried to provide service, the place was just too busy. I got the calamari and fisherman's chowder while my wife got a hamburger. Everything was good, it just came at a glacial pace. Dinner was timed in epochs. I will try it again but...not on a holiday.

This is my first return in nearly a year and I had hopes based on prior experience. Let's start food wise. The ahi tuna salad is still good but pales in comparison to similar poke bowls less than a mile away but nearly twice the price. Their seafood chowder is clam chowder trying to disguise itself as bad jambalaya and failing at both. Their loaded baked potato might be the best item on the menu but that's not saying a lot since it's still COLD in the middle. But the service-that has gone in the tank. Inattentive servers who wouldn't leave a bottle of tap water at your table but rather leave you high and dry for 15+ minutes at a time. Bartenders who cannot operate the tv as well as my 12 year old and leave scoreguides blocking half the screen despite requests. Rude. Inattentive. Worthless. Their cocktails are as expensive as they are unimaginative and relatively tasteless. Their key lime pie is laughably bad by even northern Florida standards. "We do seafood, steak and sushi but none of it well" should be their motto. Oh. And despite being attached to the hotel you cannot charge to your room so enjoy that fellow business traveler-no points for you. Their best asset is their ambiance which while still louder than a sports arena is still pretty. But like a gorgeous love interest with no talent or brains it's best left with a hearty handshake and goodbye.

Felt very rushed; the hostess ( not our waiter) came and took my plate without asking me if I were finished or not; I had to tell her that I was still eating my dinner! Also, they serve you popcorn to nibble on while you're waiting for your dinner? Felt like we were in a movie theater or a bar/ grill! I ordered the beef carpaccio which they serve with potatoe chips; for the price that they charge for the appertizer, you would expect better! Food was good but not great! Overall not a great experience!

First things first as I'm sure other reviewers have flagged but Lula is BYOB. We forgot that memo but luckily they partner up and recommend local wine / liquor distributors who are able and willing to swing down to the restaurant with a bottle of your favorite thing. Prices are high (on-par with what you'd expect from NYC fine dining) but the ambiance isn't stuffy and staff were kind, friendly and generally attentive. Note that the restaurant is generally loud (there is no music) so you might find yourself raising your voice to talk to your partner. The restaurant was completely busy so reservations are necessary though thankfully did not find it as competitive as NYC to get a prime-time Saturday night dinner reservation. The focaccia, a staple on Lula's menu, was excellent though I would do without the +$3 additional sardine sauce / accompaniment which I felt was unnecessary. The beef tartare was my personal favorite, light and delicious and a generous portion paired with the cream sauce and chips. We were generally satisfied by the time our entrees came out and I really enjoyed the salmon / fish dish they served along with the clams. Finishing with the Baked Alaska was also excellent (though not game-changing) and we enjoyed our time here. Would recommend a visit and think there's enough going on nearby to warrant a trip to Ridgewood, NJ regardless!

[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!

We got the bolognese and it was outstanding. The wedge salad is just absolutely drowning in their homemade blue cheese, and thank god for that because I could drink it straight. The brussel sprouts, cauliflower & butternut squash soup (1st time trying this- ever!) were all delicious starters. Warm, well cooked, and flavorful, I'd definitely order this again. For my main meal I had the grass fed burger with sweet potato chips - it was so delicious! Not heavy at all but satisfying and filling. I also ordered the Bright Eyes refresher and loved it. For dessert, we tried the cookie à la mode but I was not a fan of it, it was just okay in my opinion, not as good as the food itself. Service was incredible. Andrew was friendly, informative and just overall a pleasure to have serve us our meal. He truly took this first experience to the next level with his professionalism and positive vibes. Thanks so much Andrew!
