I visited this diner for breakfast this morning and had a very good omelette. The food was enjoyable, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout my visit. However, as I was leaving, I noticed a display of U.S. Presidents' photos. Most of the photos were neatly displayed, including President Trump and other presidents, but President Obama's photo appeared noticeably different and was not displayed in the same manner as the others. Whether intentional or not, the presentation stood out to me and left me feeling uncomfortable. I believe businesses should strive to present historical and political figures consistently and respectfully. Unfortunately, this observation detracted from an otherwise positive dining experience. While I appreciated the food and service, I do not plan to return. read more

It's great to have this diner in the neighborhood. It's very spacious, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have their own parking lot. The menu is extensive, and they have a great selection of baked goods. They also make their own Challah bread, which I've gotten a couple of times. My go-to's are: - scrambled eggs, corn beef hash with home fries and an English muffin. - chocolate chip muffin, toasted with butter - beef Gyro platter (the tzatziki sauce is phenomenal!) - pancakes - fried zucchini sticks (hits the spot every time! I came back to this diner after a yelp experience. They have a big size parking lot and a lot of stairs to climb to enter the establishment. Once inside the restaurant you are greeted and seated. The place is huge and spacious while offering seats all over. We had a booth! Our waiter was Rock-O, he was very thorough and engaging, providing great interaction and conversation. Rock-O went above and beyond effortlessly, displaying fantastic customer service to not only my table but to his section as well. I had pancakes that were perfectly created, turkey sausages, and egg whites. My plus one had traditional French toast, bacon, cheese eggs. The food was very good. The only downside to the restaurant is the air conditioner being on high causing the food to get cold fast. You needed a shovel to get it down faster to avoid the food temperature change. The food is fresh, the French toast my usual go to, but they recently added a breakfast burrito (the farmers wrap) which is perfect is your extra hungry. I have been here twice within the past two years for both Breakfast and Lunch. Staff is very friendly. During the summer months it is a little hot on the inside, they definitely could use better air conditioning. Both breakfast and lunch- portion sizes are huge. Breakfast is solid, I had some of the best corned beef hash here. Lunch I have had the French Onion which I wasn't a fan of and felt like the croutons were stale. Their turkey club was also pretty dry compared to others I have had in the area. It came with chili on the patty and salsa on the side. I liked it! Not a gourmet meal by any means but I was happy. The service is standard and does a good job. We ordered the steak and they said this was the way they serve it. But the truth is this is not a sirloin steak. This looks more like ground beef and it's not even cooked right. Horrible diner. Food is terrible but what's worse is the owner's behavior. We live next door and would easily frequent a diner regularly if the food was even semi-decent. This is not. We gave it a few tries when we first moved in 10 years ago. And again recently another two times. Pretty sure my spouse got food poisoning one of these times. Save yourself and go somewhere else. Background on the owner's behavior - My son went to the daycare next door and the owner would get so upset if a parent parked in his EMPTY lot during pick up/drop off. First time here. There is no actual "river view" but that didn't bother me. The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is clean. I would say -- an upscale diner -- as opposed to a typical NJ greasy spoon kind of place. Service was great, fast and friendly. I had the London Broil dinner special and it was very good. French Onion Soup was ok but nothing special. I prefer when the cheese is melted and charred a bit ... not just melted. Also, I'm not sure what kind of cheese they used, maybe provolone. I prefer swiss and/or gruyere. Anyway, their French Onion was just okay. My baked potato was not good, to be honest. It was more like a reheated baked potato, that had never been fully cooked. I would definitely go again but next time I would order something different and get fries or mashed potatoes. The sign out front says, "Open 24 Hours" but they told us since Covid hit, they are not open 24 hours anymore. I'm guessing lack of help. read more

One of the cleanest restaurants/diners I've ever stepped foot into. The food was very good and came out very fast. Service was also super quick and very friendly. I was very happy with the chicken parm with French fries. In good ole diner fashion I added mozzarella on my fries with a side of gravy. It was delicious. I'd be happy to come back again, I was pretty surprised to see that they weren't more busy around dinner time. This is a traditional Jersey diner located in North Bergen where one finds the typical hamburgers, pancakes, sandwiches and desserts on their menu. I have eaten here several times in the past and the food has always been good. My partner and I were in the area and wanted to stop in for dinner. They have their own parking lot which is a plus. The establishment has gone through a renovation and looks fantastic. We were greeted by the host that lead us to a table overlooking partially the Hudson River. We ordered the chicken salad wrap and Greek wrap which came with crispy fries. All in all, Excellent experience! Staff is excellent. Very clean and well managed place . Called in a brunch / lunch order and was greeted by with great customer service over the phone. Even with my significant other making amendments to the order in the background, the individual taking my order was extremely patient and courteous. I ordered a chicken Cesar wrap, which I normally pick the chicken out of due to blandness. Not this one! The chicken was warm and very well seasoned. The Cesar dressing was delicious, not overly garlicky. We also ordered a steak and eggs breakfast. The steak smelled and looked great. We were a little disappointed that it was medium rare as opposed to medium well. We ended up cooking it a little more. Other than that, our meals were delish. The inside is beautiful and spacious. Have driven past this diner for forever and a half and finally got a chance to eat here! My friend took me for lunch on a Sunday and this place was busy! By the time we left there was a wait. Staff is SUPER DUPER friendly. My friend has been a long time customer and they treat her like family. Super sweet. Before we got seated we passed by some pastries which looked bomb. I'll have to check them out next time. We were greeted immediately upon seating by our server and we ordered our coffee. The omelette was cooked great and they didn't skimp out in the cheese. Their home fries were yummy too. Nice and crispy! The pancakes were good too! Huge and fluffy. I didn't need to add butter or anything. Tasted great as is. Our server was great with refilling our coffee and water throughout our whole visit. Ii was craving French toast and eggs for dinner, so we stopped by river view diner since it was on our way back home. The French toast was one of the best I have had vs other diners in Hoboken, Cliffside park and seacaucus. Now only was it thick, but had a great crunch to it without being burned. Other places tend to be burnt, soggy and floppy. I also ordered eggs, over easy with rye toast. The toast was also toasted perfectly and buttered so it was already melted perfectly in the toast. The eggs were also cooked to perfection- most places never get this right and over cook them. The service was great, everyone was friendly and I also stole some of my boyfriends delicious fries with gravy. Oh, I will mention this is THE cleanest diner I have ever been to. I live in the Weehawken Heights and the River View Diner is right down the cliff. I've driven past many times. But my son ate there recently and enjoyed himself so I was eager to see firsthand. Between the rowdy brunch bars and twee coffee houses in Hoboken, the hokey pancake "factories" in Edgewater and the old school diners in Hackensack is this establishment. We were greeted pleasantly and directed to an open booth in the front of the house. We were promptly served coffee and placed our orders. I ordered the rarely seen grits with my omelette, hot and tasty with the addition of some salt and syrup. Jon had a large order of fluffy scrambled eggs and a variety of breakfast meats. He wolfed that down with crispy home fries and toast. You'll notice immediately how immaculately clean the place is, trimmed in dark woods and comfortable red covered seats and chairs. Instead of being assaulted by too loud popular music or groups of families with young children celebrating birthdays the music was gentle and the diners sophisticated and enjoying easy conversation. I'm a big fan of diners. Have been coming to this diner for years and it looked better after a renovation a few years ago. This is a family run business. Owners and staff are very friendly. Having its own parking lot is a big plus. It's also open 24 hours on weekends. Had a late dinner around 9pm on a Friday night. Restaurant has lots of seatings and five of us were seated in a booth. We love being able to order our favorite breakfast even for dinner time. Western omelette with sweet potato fries, breakfast samplers along with French toast with Taylor ham were all tasty and big portions. Banana pancake was okay. Spaghetti with meatballs were good but wish there would be more sauce. Complimentary bread basket with garlic bread was not bad. Would definitely come back over and over again.
