This local diner is always consistently very good! Carlos gives great service and I am always happy when he waits on us. The menu has a lot of choices so it's great for breakfast lunch or dinner or to pop in for a snack. I had grilled chicken and my husband had a hamburger. We think the food is just as good and in some cases even better, than most of the fancy places in the area. If you have not been, definitely stop in and try this place!

I came back to this diner after a yelp experience. They have a big size parking lot and a lot of stairs to climb to enter the establishment. Once inside the restaurant you are greeted and seated. The place is huge and spacious while offering seats all over. We had a booth! Our waiter was Rock-O, he was very thorough and engaging, providing great interaction and conversation. Rock-O went above and beyond effortlessly, displaying fantastic customer service to not only my table but to his section as well. I had pancakes that were perfectly created, turkey sausages, and egg whites. My plus one had traditional French toast, bacon, cheese eggs. The food was very good. The only downside to the restaurant is the air conditioner being on high causing the food to get cold fast. You needed a shovel to get it down faster to avoid the food temperature change. Besides all that miner dislike, everything was good.

I had to take this picture, why not?

We came here for brunch, and River View Diner really hit the mark. I ordered the waffle with two eggs, and both were delicious -- the waffle had that perfect crisp edge, and the eggs were just how I like them with salt, pepper, and ketchup. My spouse got pancakes, and we shared bites fluffy, warm, and comforting. The coffee was fresh and flavorful, a must for any brunch stop. The Staff was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. They checked in to see if we needed anything and were quick to clean and reset tables as guests left. It felt organized and welcoming from start to finish. AmWhat makes this place stand out is the vibe. The walls are covered in international currency and photos of old Hollywood stars, which gives the diner so much personality. It's casual and nostalgic in the best way. Bonus -- they're open 24/7 and there's plenty of parking around the building. Overall, this diner is a solid choice whether you're coming for breakfast, brunch, or a late-night bite. We'll definitely be back!

Regular breakfast-brunch spot. Consistently good, fast and friendly service. Love this spot.

The service was great. I had a tuna melt and chocolate shake. The melt was great but pricey at $17. The shake tasted like chocolate milk (like they mixed Hershey syrup with milk than use ice cream.

We ordered the steak and they said this was the way they serve it. But the truth is this is not a sirloin steak. This looks more like ground beef and it's not even cooked right. Tried to eat around it but it was not sitting well. The omeletes we had were good. The French toast was okay, it was more toasted bread since the egg/milk mixture was light as if they ran out.

I rarely give middling or low reviews so it pains me a bit to do so, but this place is kind of dirty and the coffee isn't great. The food is totally decent, but I think our experience as a whole was soured by a little cockroach skittering across the side wall and eventually on my seat. This could have been a rare coincidence, but the place inside just seemed kind of grimy in general. Our table was gross when we sat down and had to be thoroughly wiped before we could start eating. My girlfriend and I also both smelled super oily the entire rest of our ride in the car, which I think has to do with the grills being so close and open right next to our seats. Overall, since the food was decent and service was good, I still give 3 stars and qualify that perhaps the roach was just an unlucky coincidence, but we certainly won't be going back again.

I went with a traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, french fries) and it came with a side of some toast, coffee & juice. I also ordered a round of the french toast to taste since the pictures on their menu looked super appetizing. The food was incredible, everything tasted great and although the fries could have been a tad bit better, it was easy to forget since everything else was so good and our waitress was so attentive/kind. Something about this place just had that "breakfast from home" feeling and would definitely check this spot out if you're in the area!

We came to Boulevard Diner in North Bergen because it's one of the few that's still open 24/7. We walked in at 3AM (drunken nights... what can I say?) and were seated immediately. The interior is modern, clean, and spacious. Plenty of booth seating and tables. They also have an outdoor patio. It doesn't have your old-school diner look from back in the day. The menu has a diverse variety of food and drinks to choose from. It has anything and everything on it... from your classic American fare to international options. They also have a full bar, Happy Hour, and specials. We were given the overnight menu. I noticed that their prices online are $3-$4 lower than the prices in person. Very odd... that alone turns me off LOL. Since it was so late, the diner wasn't busy. Service was super quick. We ordered... *Cuban Panini served with coleslaw and fries $18.95 - I wasn't expecting a diner to give me a Cubano that rocked my world... so for my adjusted expectations, this was mid. The pork they used was grocery store quality pre-sliced meat. The bread was limp and not crispy. They didn't even put mustard or pickles. Definitely did not have any flavors of a classic Cuban. It just tasted like a ham and cheese sandwich you could make at home. *California Omelette with home fries and toast $17.95 - Your standard omelette made with three eggs, avocado, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and cheddar. The eggs were a bit overcooked and dry. Nothing to rave about, but no complaints either. The food wasn't really worth the price. There are a lot of diners with lower prices and better food. Would I return? Maybe, only out of convenience. It's open 24/7 and has every type of food possible to satisfy a craving. It's not the best quality, but it might do the job.

It's basically an extension of the deli, not an actual restaurant feel at all. Our table was so close to the soda fridge that we couldn't move the chair back if we didn't want to break the door. Anytime a customer came to get a drink, we had to move so they could open the fridge door. The service was very good. Friendly young man. The food was good but a little pricey for the amount we received. We ordered an appetizer and bread bowl of pasta with bolognese. Their fresh mozzarella is very good. The bread bowl itself was not flavorful at all. We ended up throwing that part out. The sauce was good though. The other bread bowl we got was filled with pasta done in their Parmesan wheel. It was meh. Very dry. Needed more garlic or something for some oomph! The rainbow cookies were good but didn't seem any different than other places I have had them at, just pricier. Overall, it was ok but we wouldn't go back again.

For starters, they have free 1-hour parking (with validation) right next door which is a huge perk! Second, they're cash only. Third, this is definitely a local spot and despite a slight language barrier, the staff were incredibly warm & friendly. We ordered the Grande Pan con Bistec w Queso which is their large steak sandwich. We decided to split it and ended up ordering another sandwich midway through because it was that good. The sandwich is simple - steak, fries, onions, and cheese. The bread was the perfect texture and thickness, the steak was plentiful, the fries were salty & crispy, and the onions were tangy & bright. They're also known for their smoothies so we got two. Mamey is a tropical fruit tree native to southern Mexico and Central America. The flavor is closest to a melon, sweet potato, and caramel. I enjoyed this one but it's definitely on the sweeter side. Guanabana is soursop which is more custardy, sweet like banana and tangy like pineapple. I absolutely loved this one! This meal was so simple yet so satisfying. I highly recommend checking them out!

The restaurant has an interesting history. Even though the original opened in Cresskill, NJ, it unfortunately has permanently closed. However, not only is the Edgewater location amazing, but it had the guts to open during COVID (2022), survived, and is succeeding. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. Their decorations are tasteful, the presentation of the food is award winning, and the service is stellar. I started with a Mocha Cappuccino and it was so good. Served in a large mug, an airy/creamy top, and had the perfect amount of mocha happiness throughout. Before the meal even started, we were graciously given Za'atar (a popular Middle Eastern spice blend with an earthy, tangy, and nutty flavor, toasted sesame seeds, and sumac, with salt). It was crunchy, drizzled with oil, and I enjoyed how each thin pita bite made the spices explode all over the table. The entrees were: Strawberry French Toast. The next was the Falafel Platter (chickpeas and fava bean balls, served with tahini sauce, pickles, turnips, tomato, and mint). The last selection was the Avocado Toast (Citrus cured salmon over multigrain bread, tomatoes, onions, capers & citrus vinaigrette). Not only were all of these dishes beautifully presented, but all were filling, as well. My Avocado Toast kept me full for the rest of the day and the salmon was enjoyably salty, thin, and delicious. I noticed a dessert in their display case and ordered it. The dessert was the Riz Bil Ashta (Lebanese rice cream, infused with orange blossom water, blended with milk and cheese, and topped with crushed pistachios). This dessert tasted like a regal custard and the pistachios added an enjoyable texture that makes it recommended. Of course, I had to cap the meal with a Mocchiato. This amazing beverage followed the rest of the meal..... delicious, eyes closed good, and every sip was full-flavored. Thank you, Madison Café and Grill, for presenting a memorable meal and I wish you continued success.
