Carnegie Diner & Cafe (Located in The Plaza at Harmon Meadow) 700 Plaza Dr. Secaucus, NJ 07094 OMG 24 Layer Chocolate Cake This cake slice was so wide it had to be served on its side. This cake had 24 alternating layers of spongy chocolate cake and chocolate frosting. It was drizzled in chocolate syrup and sprinkled with powdered sugar. One side was completely topped with chocolate chip morsels with heaping mounds of whipped cream on both sides. This was unbelievably rich and chocolatey in texture. It was also served chilled, which is how I personally prefer to eat cake. I was also highly satisfied with the service. Server Amaya proactively brought me an extra glass of water when I told her I was ordering the cake; she says I will need it and she was right. #oversizedmenuitems #giganticfood #openwide #carnegiedinersecaucus #carnegiedinerandcafe #carnegiediner #omg24layerchocolatecake

Excellent service! Our waitress Carolina took great care of us, and the food was good. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and the truffle oil Parmesan fries both were delicious. The cappuccino was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance has a classy New York bistro vibe with a really cool gallery wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's also plenty of parking, which makes it a great spot to visit.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat outside on a beautiful evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got a triple decker chicken sandwich. Plenty of food and the chicken had a good flavor. It comes with fries and salad. $19.50. The salad was drenched with dressing. And the fries despite having seasoning on them lacked flavor. Also I asked to sub double salad instead of did fries and it didn't happen. My husband liked his omelet. Our friend got a mocktail which was more expensive than alcohol cocktails during happy hour. It is not really right that they do that. The waitress was nice. Slow to take orders but it was fine because we were with friends catching up. Had the chocolate cake for desert. It tasted like box devils food cake. Which was fine because that's kind of what I wanted, but I expected a better quality cake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall nice spot to come to after a movie. Big menu, nice cozy inside and nice space outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here for a brunch with a friend during dry January so I wasn't able to try the bottomless mimosas or $10 margs but that's okay - next time! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere here is great - very spacious, lots of tables, a huge bar, and great decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I made a reservation for a Saturday at 1p, but there were quite a few tables open so maybe didn't need to use it. The menu is huge. They have plenty of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Service was super friendly and fast. I decided to order a mix of breakfast and lunch - I got the pesto breakfast bowl. It looked amazing in the menu pic but in real life it was wayyy too much sauce so the lettuce was soggy. The wings, however, were some of the best wings I've had in a while. Perfectly crunchy crispy with the ideal amount of classic buffalo. I would definitely stick to that next time.

Clean, cozy, diner with very large portions. Everything we got was delicious and we would definitely come back! This is the spot to go to if you want good pastrami in the area. I'd also recommend upgrading your fries to the parmesan truffle fries (if you like those flavors). Be prepared for a wait on the weekends! We came on a Saturday around 11-11:30 and had a 30 min wait.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the interior, beautiful, spacious diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Always pretty busy but the wait for food isn't too long. We ordered breakfast, the burgers and onion rings passing by looked so good. Our food was good, nothing really special or memorable. The steak was ordered medium well but came well done and dry. Surprised they would send that piece of meat out to the table. The French toast lacked any depth, if that makes sense. The waitress wasn't as attentive as we're use to, never received a refill on my coffee. We kind of just ate our food and wanted to head out. Don't expect to return but understand why it's a popular diner.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great food, great ambiance, and pleasant staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only problem you will have here is what dish to order as they have a lot to choose from. Our waitress was attentive and super friendly! Parking is plenty but depending on the night you go, you may have to park a little ways away and walk.

Not only do I dig them for the food but for the way they welcomed the world's greatest band, Oasis to town. Carnegie Diner & Cafe has locations all over Manhattan and even one in Virginia, I think. I have eaten at quite a few in NYC but this was my first time at the Secaucus location. Exceptional service and food. We sat on the patio in front for lunch. My boyfriend and I got a caprese salad for the table (yeah, the two of us and our dog). He got the tuna salad melt and it was the quintessential NYC-area sandwich-four stars, he said. I had a cup of chicken soup (w/orzo & veg)-highly recommend. Made in-house everyday. We each had a mule-I got the strawberry one made with Grey Goose and the boyfriend got the Texas Mule. But, of course. You guessed it, made with Tito's. If you're in the area, this really is a nice spot for lunch, heck for any meal.

This is a centrally local gem, serving up a wide variety of delicious options to satisfy any craving. The friendly, attentive staff make every visit feel welcoming, turning a simple meal into a great experience you'll want to come back for again and again. I don't think there is anything on the menu I wouldn't try. Definitely coming back. Catch a game and grab a bite, there are plenty TVs, or simply sit outside and people watch.

A friend and I got together for dinner. When I arrived I parked in the plaza parking lot. I walked in and was greeted and sat. Robert was our server and he was great! We had: Vodka Martini Strawberry Grey Goose Mule Coconut Shrimp Vegan Meatballs NY Strip Bolognese Keylime Pie The food was good and my favorite definitely were the vegan meatballs. All in all I had a good experience!

Finally tried some food after enjoying many happy hours here! Went with the chicken sandwich and the Times Square chicken burger combo. Each came with a little slaw side salad fries and pickle. Both sandwiches were great and cooked as ordered. I could half the Times Square and make two meals! As always the happy hour never fails-went with an ipa and strawberry margarita. This place is walking distance from our hotel so thats a plus. Sure we will be back soon. Service was super kind! Go good times.

But other moments call for a proper sit-down meal complete with sunset or waterfront views. Perfectly placed on the waterfront with "breathtaking views of NYC" and named after the historic 19th-century estate of New York banking magnate James Gore King, the Highwood is a restaurant, bar, and sports lounge situated at Port Imperial in Weehawken, where my partner and I decided on dinner yesterday. The reservation was easily done via OpenTable. Upon entering as first-timers, we were greeted by the host inside a rustic yet modern wood and metal design with a sophisticated vibe and a unique layout, making it perfect for dinners and watching live sports alike. We were seated on a high bar table in the main room, consisting of a large 10-foot TV wall behind one of the bars. Their crafted menu features a diverse array of dishes, ranging from classic salads, seafood, pizza, and more to balance comfort and creativity. We decided to share the Creamy Spinach which is always a great starter. For our main meal, we opted for the Delmonico and Steak Frites. We washed them down the Jam Slam and Dragon Fruit Spritz. The food was absolutely delicious using fresh ingredients. Every dish was prepared with great flavor and quality. The portions were satisfying, and everything came out well-paced, which added to the overall experience. The staff was fantastic, very friendly, and accommodating, especially our server, Taylor. This establishment remains a sought-after destination for locals and visitors alike.

Now I have a thing when people say "it's just next door" or "it's right down the street." What did George Dubya say? Fool me once and it's shame on you, fool me twice and the shame is mine for getting us into a war based on lies and greed?" Yeah something like that. Anyways, I typically don't believe when people say something is close so whenever I visit her we just order in delivery rather than motivate (ie put on a bra) and go out. But dang it this is literally. Right. Next. Door. As in I can sit on the deck outside of the restaurant and look in her living room. Smh. I say all that to say IVE BEEN MISSING OUT!! Her bday was this weekend so she booked a large table for family and friends. I was relieved to see they had valet. Parking is atrocious in this development so to only pay $10 to be 10 feet from the door was awesome. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff know her well and treated her as a valued guest. Here's the rundown: We went for BRUNCH. They have a prix fixe for $41 of most of the brunch items and it includes 2 Bellini, 2 mimosas, or 2 Bloody Marys. Good right? Welp what you don't know is that their cocktail menu is incredible so to heck with the prix fixe. We got mimosas at home!! Between the 10 of us we got cocktails, appetizers, entrees, desserts, coffee. Highlights: -Service was spectacular. Wesley was On It! By the time we finished eating there was another party of 10+ seated right behind us that he was servicing. I hope he enjoys the reward$ of his hard work! Make it rain on em Wesley! -Fat friendly seating. No arms, solid chairs, comfortable cushions. We were there for 4 hours and my booty was never sore. -Food. We tore it up and it was all delicious. My half of the table had the farm house breakfast sando, the fried chicken sando, French omelette, huevo rancheros. We shared the crab hush puppies, wings, calamari, goat cheese salad, and blueberry pancakes. I was nosey and saw that some of my other table mates ordered the skirt steak and eggs and the short rib. -Drinks. I know my husband loves mango so I suggested he get the smoked mango drink. I didn't know it came with theatrics. Dinner and a show?! Btw by the time our table was done almost everyone had ordered one. Lychee martini, Paloma, old fashioned, midnight espresso. Also all very good! -The View. Our party was too large to sit outside but we did sit right at the floor to ceiling windows. In between birthday wishes and food comas we watched the boats, jet skis, and undulating waves of the Hudson. Previous posters are correct - the place is pricey. But high key the people who live in that area are already paying a premium for everything else sooooo. Now, I DONT live in that area lmao so this will be a rarer treat for me. But I was happy to celebrate my cousin's birthday in a place that she loves. Awesome experience - I look forward to returning! 10/10 would put on a bra for this and walk downstairs lol

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.
