We had an excellent experience with Dallas BBQ's food. Since we are local, and since I will travel far and wide for BBQ, this was a no brainer. I wish we would have tried it sooner. Service was prompt. Food was prepared fresh and promptly: Henny Ribs - incredible sauce. I want to put it on everything. I like my ribs with a little pull, and these had just a bit more than I prefer, but they were still excellent. Moist and flavorful. Dallas Wings - crispy, moist, and flavorful. Not greasy. Batter was well-seasoned, each piece was cooked perfectly with nothing overdone, dry, or tough. Pulled pork sliders - my wife loved them. Flavorful, tender, and piled high. Henny Burger - I wished I had two of them. That says it all. The henny sauce is incredible. Burger was high quality and perfectly cooked. Bacon was delicious and an excellent addition. Not too crispy, not too soft. Perfect texture. The burger was HUGE. This may be my good-to from now on. Henny sauce was a great compliment to the other flavors. Family all raved about their food. If you're looking for barbecue, don't come here. Its relationship to actual Texas BBQ is distant at best, perhaps a 13tb cousin 7 times removed. Service was OK, quick and friendly, but the food was not. They have ribs on the menu, and chicken, but I couldn't find brisket, pretty much the epitome of Texas style barbecue, until I found, hidden away in the bottom corner, a brisket sandwich and a BBQ brisket burger. I chose the burger with fries. The burger patty itself was OK, standard chain restaurant bland-ish ground beef, but it was topped off with four or five very small slices of very cold, very fatty and very tough brisket with nary a hint of smoked goodness which is the hallmark of any good barbecue. I came here for a very special occasion. My family and I all ordered drinks. I ordered the Sour Apple Martini with the extra shaker and ice bucket (very good, def recommend!!) For food, I ordered the classic combo with the baked potato, very good. I was scared to order the mac and cheese because of the past reviews but the person at our table said they liked it. One word to begin this review - FINALLY!!! It's been talked about for decades how Dallas BBQs should make its way across the bridge to Jersey. Secaucus came through! My verdict - I still prefer my favorite NYC locations. This spot made a good effort, though and I'll likely return out of convenience, probably. I went early afternoon on a weekday, there was no wait to be seated. However, the wait was annoying for parking. They share a SMALL parking lot with the LA fitness gym next door. Service was just okay - my server was not attentive but I noticed she was very active with parties of 2 or more. I was dining solo and it was very noticeable. Nevertheless, what I loved the most about this new location is that it's reminiscent of pre-pandemic menu prices. My sticky wings came to the table barely warm... like 45 seconds from being cold. Which was so odd to me. Also, my usual/favorite drink (the superman) was just average/watered down. One thing I noticed is they use regular, plastic straws. MUCH appreciated!! First off, the parking is quite easy with plenty of parking nearby. Upon entering the space is huge with plenty of different seating options. The service was great throughout. We went a week or 2 after opening weekend to try out this location since we loved the New York one. It was pretty loud and packed inside. They don't take reservations so we had to wait in a short line for a table for 2 which wasn't bad, but it could be inconvenient if you have a bigger party. The henny wings and shrimp were fine. We ended up only ordering that because everything was taking a while. We ordered 2 Texas size drinks with extra shots, but the waitress actually gave us super Texas size with no shots which we could not finish. They were good, just sweet. We didn't realize until the bill came and we were charged $24 for each drink. We were also overcharged for someone else's bill because our server mixed up our credit cards (see pic). At the time, the place was busy from graduation celebrations, so we didn't get attention. We had to go ask for to go boxes and check after waiting for a while. Came out to check of the NJ BBQs and it's a 1 and done for me. Walked in and got seated right away but the floor next to me was full of food. Nobody came to sweep up the floor until we sat down. Finally a waitress named Tanesha came over and was rushing to take our order which she seemed to be uninterested with the menu. We asked for water with lemon and she took about 15 min to bring the water. The actual drinks came out before the water which didn't have any lemons so her listening skills is not on par with a server. We decided to start with wings and a onion loaf and that took about 20 min to come out which I was very disappointed with both dishes. We asked for hot sauce and ranch dressing on the side and again Tanesha forgot to bring so we had to wait until she went back and got. The wings had no season at all (a 1st for BBQs) wings. The onion loaf wasn't done in the middle and didn't have any season on it either. Not the NY BBQs because I have never had a bad wing in NY so the Jersey version needs to go back to the drawing board and take some classes from NY. Tanesha the server needs a class in hospitality and my honest opinion should be fired because the table next to me questioned her about their bill and she made the statement to them that I quote "I'm not in your guys pockets to know what you can afford". They asked for the manager and she came over and tried to explain Tanesha actions but in my opinion it was unacceptable for her to talk to guests like that. We decided that the service and the food was not good so we didn't order a meal. Just paid the bill and got out of there. Honestly they should have did a soft opening to work out the kinks with the staff because I will go to NY to the BBQs either on 23rd or uptown. Way better food and service. I don't recommend going to BBQs in Secaucus until they get better service and hire a new chef. I will spend the $9 congestion pricing before I come back to this location. Unfortunately it does not live up to the locations in NY. The food is subpar. Chicken was incredibly dry and unseasoned. Fries were soggy. Fried shrimp was not crispy. The food actually came out super quick but everything was pretty much room temp/not super hot. The Mac and cheese was so bad I'd rate it lower than boxed Kraft or Velveeta mac. The cornbread was SO dry. Our server seemed super uninterested in her job and didn't really care about anything. Will definitely not be back here. The staff was friendly. We went a few days after it opened. It's min the same area as the harmony suites if you are staying there. We normally eat at the one in Times Square. Got the sticky wings. The sauce good but the chicken itself tasted watery. No seasoning on it at all. Just friend and tossed in sauce. The rice didn't have any flavor either. No chicken broth no nothing. The Caesar salad was big but it's not the caesar salad you are (dreaming about) it had tomato on it and grated Parmesan. I did appreciate that they gave me extra sauce when I asked for it. We stood online for about 20 mins, it went quick and we were patient since they just opened about a few weeks ago. The restrooms were out of order, we were advised to use the hotel bathroom next door. The place was visibly packed. We ordered our drinks and food, they came out pretty quickly. Staff is friendly despite the busy circumstances. As soon as the food was placed on the table .. mind you it was honey chicken and buffalo wings .. it smelled so bad like old dish water and sponge. I have never smelled food to be that way. Since we were seated close to the bathroom, I immediately thought it was just a scent coming from the bathroom only to find out after one or two bites that the chicken was just not clean, not cooked properly and quite frankly I don't even think it was chicken. They need a sign telling you there is a lot around the corner. Now this place, sorry to say it was terrible. Waited 15 minutes for a waitress to even acknowledge us. Ribs were nasty, shrimp were dry, and steak was beyond well done with a "medium rare" pin stuck in it. Aside from the food, the tables and chairs were uneven (brand new furniture) and that was annoying. First day, maybe growing pains?! But this location didn't impress at all. I went to the new Dallas BBQ in Secaucus on Mother's Day with my mom and grandmother. We were told over the phone the wait would be about 45 minutes, but we ended up waiting over 2 hours. The main reason my grandmother chose this place was for the ribs -- only to be told after we were finally seated that they were completely out. No one from management made any announcements while we waited, which would've been the courteous thing to do considering ribs are one of their signature items. I understand it was both a grand opening and a holiday, but better preparation and communication could've saved a lot of frustration for guests.
