    Corned beef hash
    Pete B.

This may have been one of the best breakfasts we have had in awhile. Parking is a little tough but well worth the crew block walk. We wanted to sit outside so bad but it looked like it was going to rain any minute. With minimal wait, we got a table inside. Very casual and comfortable setting. EVERYONE was so helpful and courteous. I got the omelet with spinach and feta and added avocado to it. As usual, I got a side of corned beef hash. This was hands down, one of the top 3 omelets I've ever had. The ingredients were fresh. Portions were perfect and the price point couldn't be beat. Corned beef hash, I would put in the top 5 that I've had. My wife got the eggs with a side of well done bacon. As I was adding the pictures, I almost forgot.... The home fries were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Completely blew us both away. If in the area and looking for a change, don't snooze on this place.

Chicken Cheesesteak Sandwhich with mushrooms and onions

Came by with some friends for lunch and had an overall really good meal. My chicken cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions was really good on nice italian bread, would easily get again. My friend got the regular cheesesteak which was also solid. We shared home fries and they were good worth getting as a side for sure. The hot coffee was pretty average and I don't think they refill you or if they do, they didn't ask to. Overall I would come back since it was good food at a good price but there are a lot of spots near by i'll try first before circling back

Nice neighborhood find, the owners are on site running the show. Cute, retro style luncheonette with outdoor seating that welcomes well behaved dogs. The breakfast dishes were very tasty, servings are normal sized, so if you're hungry, you may want to order something to Share and then two main dishes Prices are reasonable. The only comment I have that is negative is the breakfast tamales on the special menu were a bit cold when they came out, we told the server they were tasty but needed to be warmed up more but, we were too hungry to send it Back. The pancakes are very thin, almost like a crêpe and the home fries were very tasty

Stopped by Steve and Andrea's for lunch and had a great experience. The dining area was intimate and gave those old school north Jersey small diner vibes and the service was great as well. The steak hero I ordered was fantastic and super flavorful. If you're looking for good food in the Rutherford area, definitely stop by!

I have eaten at Steve and Andrea's on several occasions. Every time I go, the service is quick and the waiters are friendly and responsive. Today, we ate outside, which was a first & the restaurant itself tends to fill up because it is a small area. I do not believe they take reservations for parties smaller than 4, but they turn around tables fairly quickly. I always order the banana pancakes which I love! I really dislike how other places make their banana pancakes - with large pieces or chunks. I believe they almost purée it and put it in their batter which nicely disperses the banana flavor throughout. I really enjoy my food & experience every time I visit. There is no parking lot, just street parking.

Strawberry and bananas pancake combo with eggs and fresh squeezed orange juice!

I love coming here and visit often--the food is always fresh, served with care, and consistent in taste. The pancakes are thin but soft and warm on the inside, and pairing them with eggs on the side makes for such a delicious breakfast. It does get busy, so it's naturally a bit noisy, but never chaotic. The staff handles it well with excellent service every time. A great spot for a reliable and tasty breakfast!

I loved the pancakes here! They are thin but flavorful with the butter and syrup! The home fires is simple but super filling and is one for the best in town. Service was fast and efficient and the ambiance was nice considering it was packed on a weekend morning.

egg breakfast sandwich with taylor ham and cheese

This place is the absolute best!! I make a trip to Steve & Andrea's every time I'm in Rutherford, and it never misses. The service is warm and prompt, the food is good, and it's a reliable, delicious, affordable diner that feels like home. On my most recent trip, I ordered a Taylor Ham egg breakfast sandwich on a roll with cheese and potatoes on the side. They make a damn good sandwich here: the roll is soft, the ham is salty and delicious, and the egg is perfectly cooked but not so drippy that it's tough to eat. I also put the potatoes in the sandwich - 100% recommend. Their potatoes are a mix between a mashed potato and a hash brown. I'm not sure how they make it, but it's divine!

Home fries - would pass. Like griddled mashed potato. Not crispy.

I loved my brunch at Steve & Andrea's Restaurant. I got the chocolate chip pancake combo with 2 eggs. The scramble was perfect, the chocolate was perfect, the subtle chew on the pancake reminded me of the chocolate crepes I had in Paris. My husband got the blueberry pancakes and a side of home fries. The blueberries weren't too sweet but they're not in season. He felt the pancakes needed a bit of salt and to be sweeter -- I did not agree. I would pass on the home fries. They are somewhat like a lightly griddled mashed potato. They weren't crispy and didn't really hit. The servers were very sweet. There was nice outdoor seating but we opted to sit inside. The restaurant has a nice luncheonette vibe. Anyway, I might be addicted to these pancakes now.

Greek omelet with a side of sausages and potatoes

Amazing restaurant with a few hiccups The chocolate chip pancakes were amazing, 9/10, where it misses in sweetness the syrup and chocolate chips make up for it. Eggs and bacon were standard. The toast was very addicting especially with their salted butter. Omelette was really good, could've used a little more feta. The potatoes were very flavorful, a must side. Sausages were just okay, nothing outstanding about them. Amazing coffee and free refills. Service was lacking however, a lot of rotating servers. It's understandable, it was a full house. We were sitting across the condiments so we simply grabbed it ourselves. Ambiance was solid, definitely a busy restaurant around 11:30am on a Saturday. Food still came out pretty quick. Very noisy so keep that in mind. The apple juice they provide is in a kid sized bottle so also keep that in mind; wouldn't drop 3-4 dollars for a bottle of apple juice that's meant for a kid. Despite these hiccups, would still recommend solely for the food. Overall, would give 4.5/5

No nonsense Park Avenue staple in Rutherford. Solid breakfast and above diner grade coffee. This place is not sexy but does the trick. Absolutely loved the paper thin pancakes! Great for the family though it can be somewhat cramped on busy days.

The food was great! The restaurant seems like a family owned restaurant so it had a Nice homie feeling. The omelette was cooked perfectly and the toast bread was a highlight. The service was quick and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend

The menu is fixed-price, four courses with three options each -- simple, elegant, and unpretentious. Cash discount in March is a nice bonus too. Now the food -- where do I start. The **Roasted Candied Beets Carpaccio** was visually stunning and tasted even better. Blood Orange Balsamic Vinaigrette, Burrata, Prosciutto -- every flavor had its own moment. The **Crab Cake** was loaded with fresh, quality crab -- the chive oil pairing was spot on. But the showstopper? **Venison Wellington.** Tender, perfectly seasoned, and not something you see on many menus. I would order it again without hesitation. Finished with a peanut butter, chocolate and banana dessert paired with an espresso -- an absolutely perfect ending. The staff was warm, attentive, and somehow never made you feel rushed or hovered over. That's a gift. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had. We had high expectations for your restaurant, given its reputation, and the many times we frequent your establishment. However, unfortunately, several issues arose that significantly impacted our evening. We arrived for our reservation and began at the bar with a drink before moving to our table. (2-glasses of bar wine) We sat at the table and then ordered a second glass of wine, which took approximately 15 minutes to arrive--despite the restaurant appearing relatively quiet after 7 PM with only a four-tables occupied. When we inquired at the bar, we were told there were no glasses available, which should have been addressed proactively. Additionally, when reviewing the menu, we did not see a ribeye listed on the menu. We asked the server if there was one available. Our server explained that a ribeye was available for $85. We proceeded to order it (along with a salad, as no other green vegetable options like spinach was available). However, the server later clarified that the $85 price referred to a different steak, and the ribeye we received was priced at $199. This was at the time we received the final bill. This misunderstanding was not clearly communicated upfront, leading to confusion and total disappointment! To make matters worse, when the steak arrived, it appeared totally undercooked (essentially raw in the center), and by the time we addressed it and attempted to proceed, our accompanying mashed potatoes had gone cold. The meat never tastes correct when recooked after bring sliced!!!!!Overall, we felt the service and communication was unacceptable, leaving us confused and terribly dissatisfied. As the owner and chef, is well respected I wrote to him only to find no reply at all. No manager was available on-site to assist us at the time. It is clear the restaurant is failing as there were three tables on Saturday night at 7:00 pm.

Upon arrival at Sonoma Bistro, we were greeted by the staff and got a table by the back wall decorated for the holidays, evoking a festive, warm, casual, and inviting vibe with music playing throughout. For some of us as a starter, we decided on the beef empanadas. As a main meal, we opted for Steak Sandwich, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Veggie Omelette, My Big Breakfast, and Bistro Omelette. Washed down a Hugo Spritz for toasting to the New Year. Each dish felt like a work of art, as it was beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and deliciously tasty. The interior is visually impressive: elegant table linens, comfortable leather chairs, and a dining room that looks polished and upscale. When we arrived, what appeared to be the owner was greeting guests at the entrance. Since he was welcoming everyone and dressed differently from the rest of the staff, we assumed he was the owner. It was a great touch and immediately raised our expectations. Unfortunately, the experience did not fully match that first impression. We started with drinks: a glass of wine for me and an Old Fashioned for my wife. As happens too often in restaurants, the stronger drink was automatically assumed to be mine, and the drinks were delivered incorrectly. It's a small detail, but one that reflects attention--or lack of it. Bread arrived quickly, followed soon after by the food. I ordered the gnocchi with meat sauce. The dish was acceptable, but nothing extraordinary. My wife ordered the house seafood salad, which was very good--fresh, flavorful, and easily the best dish we had that night. Our waiter spoke limited English. Once he realized we also spoke his language, the service became noticeably more relaxed and somewhat overly familiar. He immediately tried to guide us toward the most expensive items on the menu. When I declined coffee after dinner, he responded by saying something along the lines of: "Well, that's your choice, but the coffee here is very good," which felt unnecessary. We also had a small issue with the Old Fashioned garnish. The orange peel looked unusual, so we asked for the drink to be replaced. The waiter did replace it, though he first tried to explain that what we thought were worms were simply marks on the fruit peel. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu, which the waiter promoted heavily as the best dessert to try. Unfortunately, it didn't deliver. Instead of the classic layered presentation, it arrived more like a cup full of cream with a few pieces of soaked bread and very little coffee flavor. The issue was not just the dessert itself, but the expectations created when it was described. Bareli's is a beautiful restaurant with a great location and atmosphere, but the service details and execution didn't quite match the level suggested by the setting.

We walked in to a beautifully decorated waiting area and were seating quickly. You could hear the live music playing and it was perfect. Our waiter Nathan R., was welcoming and attentive. The dirty martini was made perfectly and the hand stuffed blue cheese olives were a nice touch over the pre stuffed jar ones. To start we ordered the Burrata Salad. It was delicious. All the ingredients worked well together. For the second course we were floating between the Black Spaghetti and the Lobster Ravioli Special. We wound up going with the special and it was the move. The black inked ravioli, had chunks of lobster inside and hit nicely with the "angry sauce" on top. That bread helped clean that plate up nice. For the mains: 20oz Bone In NY Strip with sautéed spinach. Perfectly cooked to my liking and I loved that it was pre sliced for me. Spinach was lightly oiled and a perfect amount of garlic. Salmon Special - Pumpkin seed crusted with butternut squash. The plate was beautifully decorated and looked fantastic, but as soon as we cut into the salmon it was raw. It was a huge piece of salmon. So I'm sure that's what happened. Picture shown is the under cooked one that was taken back. I did not get a picture of the next. The manager saw immediately as my wife cut into it and we didn't have to say anything. He took the plate back and began making another. The dish came out and it was definitely well done this time. The piece of salmon was a lot smaller than the first. I'm sure it was to cut the cooking time down and get it out asap. The meal was fantastic. Just wish we were able to eat together. It happens. For dessert: Espresso Martini - Perfect. No baileys, 3 beans. Pistachio gelato - fantastic Zeppole - There were 3 different sauces for each one. It was amazing. Our waiter Nathan and the manager were extremely apologetic. They even came out with a complimentary limoncello spirit as we were settling up. I can't wait to dine here again to give Bareli's the 5 star it deserves.
