This venue offers craving inducing food with portions that are beyond generous. The staff is excellent, professional and friendly. This place is great for groups: please see my pictures with the custom extended chesterfield leather sofas. And the decor makes for a bright a cheery breakfast or brunch no matter the weather. My favorite go to is the blueberry pancakes. The breakfast tacos are delicious as well. There are veggie/vegan options. I really enjoy their coffee drinks. All of their lattes are delicious. I highly recommend. Great for catching up with family, friends, post game, breakfast dates or just because.

Is there a better way to spend a snow day than to pack your friends into a four wheel drive truck and have a big breakfast! We got two kinds of baked omelettes, a Dutch baby (and one to go), a side of corned beef hash, and a huevos rancheros. I enjoyed them all other than the lemon sauce that comes with the Dutch baby. I'm not really a fan of sauces so maybe my take on it is skewed but I found it very sweet for a lemon sauce. I ate around the sauce and that part was quite good.

Once our turn was up, we were seated and overall the waitress was friendly and addressed all our requests. For the four of us we got several different plates and all were quite good. Especially considering the price, the portions were pretty good - particularly the omelette which holy moly was gigantic. Ambiance is exactly in line with their other locations; casual and relaxed. It can get loud with how busy it is so just be prepared to speak up a little. If you're looking for solid breakfast food, can't go wrong with this spot.
Heard that the portions were on the larger side so decided to share among friends. Ordered the vegetarian omelette and it was indeed stuffed with mushrooms, broccoli, onions and Swiss cheese. It's baked and looked like a fat egg calzone. I think I would have liked it more without the cheese. It filled me up quickly and I feel I would have eaten more without the cheese. We also ordered the fresh fruit crepes. The topping was strawberries, blueberries and bananas. It comes with a side of mini pancakes. Usually not a fan of pancakes but these were chewy and not mushy and I actually liked it. Server was great - hats off to Island!!! Friendly and full of good conversation. Very attentive and a big smile! Place was clean. Make a note that this is a brunch house so it closes at 3p. All in all a good experience.
If you're a breakfast person you can't go wrong with the food here. It's got all you need from breakfast platters to the fluffy minipancakes to wraps/sandwiches. We were absolutely stuffed. I thought the pancakes were the best part of the meal and so tasty. When we went on a weekend there was still ample seating. The parking and driving through Edgewater can be a bit of a pain. Otherwise, the restaurant itself I highly recommend. Service is also quick and friendly.

Still My Favorite After 3 Years I've been coming here for three years, and it never disappoints. The service is always warm, the place is stylish yet cozy, and it has that inviting, family-like atmosphere that makes you want to stay. The food is fresh and flavorful every time. You'll find options for every mood--whether it's a sweet start with fresh fruit, a hearty breakfast with meat, or a perfectly balanced combo of cheese, avocado, and eggs. Perfect spot for brunch with friends or a casual family weekend breakfast.
Great service and good food in the most part. The pancake is indeed the highlight of our visit as their name called. The pancake is softer than your usual diner pancake and thinner, soaking up the maple syrup. The omelet was too dry, I was hoping for more silky feel. The Dutch pancake is okay, not a fun with its sauce, too lemony for my liking. My chair was wobbling, which I felt a safety issue and I have to swap it to another chair.
The food was nice, pancakes lived up to the hype, but the potatoes could use some work. The service was nice, our waiter and the host were very nice and food came very quickly despite the large amount of people in the restaurant. And the interior decor was nice, and the flower design on the ceiling gave the place a very nice vibe. Would recommend to give a try!

When it is a long line, it's worth the wait. Almost 1 hr wait but didn't get disappointed. Fabulous service, beautiful interior and great food. The iced vanilla chi is a bit weak. But love the Dutch baby with the lemon sauce. Other dishes are great too!

Original Pancake House is the perfect place to wake up, roll out of bed, and go get breakfast! I have come here multiple times when I have been in a sweet and savory mood and each time has been great! Food Ordered - Samoa Pancakes - These pancakes were a special the restaurant had for the month and they tasted identical to a delicious Samoa Girl Scout cookie. The fluffy pancakes came with a generous serving of coconut flakes and mini chocolate chips on the top which paired excellent with the pancakes. - California Omelette - The California Omelette comes with avocado, bacon, tomato's, and sour cream. I asked for no sour cream) The omelette was HUGE, definitely great for sharing. The omelette was fluffy and filled with the perfect amount of bacon. The avocado and tomato on top were very fresh. - Eggs & Bacon - Eggs and bacon are a classic combo to order. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the bacon was thick and salty. The eggs and bacon came with sour dough toast and potato's. read more

It's been a while since we came to original pancake house, but I was craving a Dutch baby and remembered the delicious Dutch baby. I had years back here so we came back. My son really enjoyed his chicken sausage, egg and cheese sandwich with whole fried potatoes and a short snack of chocolate chip pancakes. I enjoyed my baby of course along with it. I ordered the huevos rancheros that were labeled that spicy, but it was not spicy at all. it really needed more beans and the dish overall was just lacking flavor. It was more refreshing than savory or warm. We both got fresh juices. Both were delicious and the service was great attentive welcoming, and we were seated within half an hour of waiting in line after 10:30 AM on a Saturday. We may have been seated earlier, but I don't recall exactly when we started waiting in line. If you are a party bigger than two they have a separate line which may be a longer wait but it's more of a waitlist line. Whereas the other line is you waiting in line when you get seated as tables become available for parties of one or two people. Ambience is pretty laid-back and relaxed. There is parking at the main level of this plaza but also there is a parking garage below with more parking spots available. read more
I love this restaurant and the food generally speaking is always delicious. The oven baked omelettes are huge, fresh, and delicious. The corned beef hash is made in house and is meat as it should be. Tasty and tender and fresh. Today though I had my first disappointing dish - the oven baked Dutch baby that comes with the lemon butter sauce. We poured the sauce over expecting lemon butter. But upon tasting it, we realized it wasn't lemon juice. Or fresh lemon flavor. It tasted like liquified lemon curd - like a melted down center of a bad diner lemon meringue pie. You know that flavor. It was spot on that. And so it was cloying fake and sweet mixed with butter and overall kinda gross. I can't recommend that one. On the other hand, we took a German apple Dutch baby to go and that one was amazing. And in fairness we had the garden veggie one once before and it too is a winner. Skip the lemon sauce. read more

My family's go-to breakfast/brunch spot. Have tried several dishes on the menu and every time it's fresh and delicious! If you're looking for a sweet plate, highly recommend the fresh fruit pancakes. Our favorite server, Octavio, is always extremely attentive and kind. Always exceptional service from him. This place builds quite a line on weekends but it moves along quickly and it's worth the wait! read more

I have been going here for many many years even when they were in fort Lee. The food is excellent! Love the pancakes, whipped cream, bacon, omelette, coffee (medium or dark choices) the hot is better than the iced though. Iced is not strong enough. Great menu selection. Service is really good. Quality of food is great. Place is nice inside. Nice decor and spacious. Prices are fair. Overall one of the better breakfast/brunch spots around. read more
So I was in the mood for pancakes today and I wound up at the original pancake house. I was talking to a friend and I mentioned another pancake place in the area and they told me that I needed to check out this place. They said that the pancakes are, definitely on point. So here I went to give them the pancake test. And let me tell you they did not disappoint at all. The pancakes at the original pancake house were definitely better. I ordered some pancakes and eggs and they satisfied my craving. The pancakes were not super huge, but a perfect size. They were light and fluffy. Definitely not super thick. Which was fine with me. Great flavor. They were just perfect. And the eggs were scrambled perfectly. They were not burnt, which is what I don't like. They were just perfectly scrambled. I did want some toast with my meal at the same time, but they must have missed that request. so the toast came out a bit late. By that time I had finished my pancakes and eggs. Besides that everything was great. Service was on point. The venue itself was beautifully decorated with florals. Very nice dining area. it was average. A bunch of patrons and enjoying themselves, conversing. So if you're looking for some really good pancakes, I definitely suggest that you visit the original pancake house. Great service and even greater pancakes! The ambiance was definitely busy at 10am on a Friday. Felt like a Saturday at 11am with how packed it was. The menu is LARGE and can be overwhelming with soo many options. Nonetheless I knew what I came for and that helped lol I had the walnut banana pancakes and wow 3 large pancakes plus sides! I was full for pretty much the whole day. If you have a sweet tooth this is definitely the place for you with all the wild pancake creations and toppings. Updated review: Had pancake house again recently twice and definitely enjoyed it more this time around. Tried the breakfast combo, apple dutch, and skillet. While the breakfast combo isn't the most interesting of photos, they make some solid well cooked bacon. Potatoes overall at this place are good and portion sizes are big. I would definitely say this is my goto brunch place in the edgewater area. Would not suggest the chicken and waffles read more
Came here for brunch on a Sunday and ended up waiting around 30 minutes to get seated (party of 2). I got the apple pancake, which was so large and came out warm. You could tell it came straight out of the oven. The pancake was covered in this sweet and delicious glaze. I absolutely loved this dish and would come back just for this. Saw a lot of people around me sipping on the orange juice. Seems like that is a popular drink from here so I'd definitely want to get that next time. Interior is very cute. Came here to a packed restaurant and a line that moved surprisingly pretty fast. This spot was recommended by a friend and I can see why. You can smell the sugar in the air. I ordered a full stack of Chocolate Chip Lovers Pancake ($16). Don't even need the syrup to enhance the flavoring, that's how sweet this was and that's in a good way for you chocolate lovers. My gf got the Strawberry Dutch ($16). We both never had a dutch baby before, so this pretty unique to us. Has the distinct egg taste. The lemon butter glaze that came on the side I found didn't really do much besides make the food more fatty with the butter. The strawberry did enough to add the sweetness. The only thing I would say could improve upon is the service. I had ordered coffee and trying to get someone to refill my coffee was a bit of a struggle. Other than that, this is a spot I'd stop by again for breakfast. read more

The second I walked into the restaurant someone came to help seat me and my mom down, the service was quick and helpful. They were also very friendly, coming to check up on us. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very clean and overall gorgeous. The food was delicious, the presentation was beautiful. I also did try the garden Dutch which was also very good. Overall loved everything, will be coming back. read more
I had an enjoyable experience at the original pancake house. It is spot on. First, the Kona Hawaiian coffee is so good! Not many places have Kona coffee, so that was impressive. The service was good. Everything was fantastic, the food and service, but when you have to pay. If you have the chance, pay with cash, because they have a credit card service charge. Which I get, and they have on the front door, but who's going to read a paragraph before walking in? Plus, it's covered on my receipt so I didn't see it either. This place was awesome. Good food, good coffee (including the coffee cup its a must buy). We had the Apple Pancake, hash brown eggs, potatoes and pancakes and more. Would definitely recommend. When we went the wait was a little long but inn the end it was worth it. read more
We came on a Saturday morning and it was so packed. I believe they don't take reservations so be aware of long wait times. The food was okay nothing out of the ordinary. The Orange juice is freshly squeezed which I love and I really enjoy. The restaurant is family friendly. The server was very kind and patient because we had 4 little ones. Pancake house never disappoints! They are opened on July 4th with limited hours. I ordered an omelette with onion, tomatoes, avocado and cheddar cheese with a side of little pancakes. The omelette was gigantic! Pancakes were buttery and delicious. Husband had his usual, sunny side up eggs, sausage links, and home fries with a side of toast. Solid breakfast spot! Always a wait, but it usually goes by fast. read more
