Visiting our kids in the UWS for a few days. We were looking for a new brunch spot in the area and saw this on Yelp. Very nice small place with an efficient friendly staff. They are constantly remaking and refilling your coffee. They use a nice blend. The food was great. I really enjoy a good breakfast sandwich. The kitchen sink was one of the best that I have had. Fluffy eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese and a potato pancake on a brioche bun. It is served with a small salad. My wife had the triple decker grilled cheese which was served with some fresh fruit. My companions loved their French toast (i thought the middle was a little too mushy). I got simple scrambled eggs with potato kugle. The eggs were fluffy. I liked the kugle, but it was more like a flat potato pancake. I expected it to be as thick as the toast. The bacon (2 strips) was crisp the way I like it. The food all came out together which was a plus. But our server didn't refill our coffee, bring butter, etc. We had to request these items more than once. I dropped by here for ... brunch Although it was really busy on a Saturday, the service was still great. Our waiter was friendly, kind and attentive. We ordered some eggs which came with potato kugel and our choice of bread. Everything was great (although the kugel could have a tad more flavor.) But the maple bacon and the fresh squeezed orange juice were really stand outs. They also offer unlimited black coffee, so it was nice to have my coffee topped off a few times. I sat with my back against that wall at a table with there is a bit of a barrier in that part of the wall, so it was a tad uncomfortable and a little tight but nothing that wasn't managable. We opted for the chicken soup, bacon cheeseburger, loaded cruncher Caesar salad, and the best old school tuna salad. The chicken soup is light, fresh and flavorful 10/10 recommend. Bacon Cheeseburger was perfectly cooked (medium) and the bacon was crispy! The burger comes with a slaw and finger fries that were both insanely good. 10/10 Best old school tuna salad... the name says it all! The multigrain bun was good but I feel like it would be better to have a scoop on one of the salads. The sandwich came with a small side salad with ginger vinaigrette that was amazing. 10/10 Loaded Cruncher Caesar Salad had great chicken, bacon, croutons, and cheese. The Caesar salad dressing was light and not very flavorful. I would recommend either getting it on the side or opting for another dressing. We grabbed a chocolate chip cookie on the way out the door and it was soft doughy and loaded with chocolate chips in it and on top. So I came across Brunch on Door Dash and the menu sounded interesting so I decided to place an order. I also looked at the reviews and they mostly seemed positive. I was in the mood for a salad but not Caesar dressing so I ordered the Caesar salad with the jalapeno bacon (umm yes!) and roasted chicken. The salad came with celery which I thought was odd-couldn't ask them to remove it so I just had to pick through it. I requested caramelized onions in the salad but instead was given maybe a handful if best of red onion in it. (Hence the review not 5 stars). I got ranch dressing instead of the Caesar and it was pretty good, not sure if homemade but good. The salad had a pretty generous amount of chicken and it was seasoned well too. The croutons were homemade which I definitely appreciated. I also was given two small pieces of focaccia with everything seasoning on it as well. I really enjoyed the salad, it was pretty filling and I think I would order from them again-the thanksgiving sandwich looked good as did a few other menu items. read more
