I'm a big fan of Thai food, so for a long time I would only eat Thai food in Manhattan as I couldn't find any good places to buy it in the Bronx. When I found Honey Thai Pavilion, I was ecstatic. It soon became my favorite place in the Bronx to have Thai food. If you're as passionate about Thai cuisine as I am, you'll appreciate the wide selection this restaurant has to offer, which includes noodles, seafood, and more! The spicy prik king with chicken which is served with white rice is my particular favorite dish; it's delicious and authentic. This dish can be made as spicy as you like. I also got a few shareable items for the table, shrimp in a blanket, satay chicken skewers and steamed dumplings! Additionally, they serve freshly made pad thai, which has a ton of flavor and really soft noodles and succulent meat. The pad see ew is another great option; the vegetables are fresh and the noodles are usually good! It gets better: a lunch menu is available for $10.50, with generous portions. This is a fantastic way to sample several foods from the menu; it allows you to take a risk without committing entirely, which is ideal if you're looking to step outside of your comfort zone! The 6 line and the subway are only a 5-minute walk away from this site. One thing to bear in mind is that parking can require you to drive around the block once or twice, but as it's a residential neighborhood, there ought to be spots available. One of the restaurant's excellent aspects is that you don't need reservations. It also offers a laid-back atmosphere, nice and helpful staff, and a decent wine selection. I've been coming here to support this local business for many years. It is such a nice place to have near to me and they have really exceptional flavors. A few years back for a while, they were REALLY going through something where the food just wasn't the same and service was lacking badly. It was like they lost their original chef and didn't have staff to take care of patrons. It was heartbreaking and I had to take a break because I couldn't justify visiting a place that I was so proud of to have in my neighborhood in these conditions. I am very happy to say that they are back and better than ever. The meals are back to being tasty and I've even tried a few newer things after regaining some confidence that they would make it taste good. I do notice that some of the reviews in the past 2-3 years touch on the period when they were really struggling but I would advise those people to go back and try them out again. The pandemic change a lot of things but it is up to the community to keep these 'mom and pop' places alive. They are important to the neighborhood and its always nice to have a place to recommend any visitors or to take guests. I provided a 4 star review because it seems like they may still struggle to employ staff for service and frankly the newer ones that I have had are not doing so great. (Maybe they are still training) A table near us wanted to get cocktails (They have a full bar now ) and the waitress said that she texted the bartender to come but she's waiting for a babysitter ? this was around 7:30 pm and they close pretty soon after that so that was really confusing. I didn't understand why the staff member couldn't look at the ingredients and make the patrons the drink. I started coming back regularly recently and this last visit I placed my order and realized that they waitress wasn't writing any of it down. She had all this confidence and when my food came out (not all together ) it was wrong, not once but twice. I was mortified to send two things back into the kitchen but I really didn't want what they served me. There was apologies and they took the food and the kitchen rectified the order but this didn't need to happen and the restaurant didn't have to loose money based on lack of training. The review and stars are solely based on the FOOD! Keep up the good work-- the kitchen is doing great but try and figure out the staffing issue/training. Until this happens don't expect amazing service ( unless its the owner working the floor-- she's amazing). If you can get passed the service issues, order take out. It's worth it! Food was horrible, I had the salmon which smelled disgusting, I was not able to have one bite of it I order a lemonade and got coconut juice...also very bad. I have never been here prior to day. I randomly picked this place on Grub Hub and drove over to pick it up. The Chicken Basil is delicious. The vegetables are fresh and perfect. The rice is fluffy and flavorful. I was thrilled to have the sauce in the bottom of the bowl to pour on my rice after. Just great! The medium spice is a true medium. Let me start off by saying this place has so much potential and the food is good but I've given them too many chances. The restaurant does not have a full time waiter or waitress it is normally the owner or a family member running around like a chicken without a head. Their drinks and margaritas are inconsistent and take forever. They do not have a consistent bartender. We've always give them chance after chance but the last visits service was the final straw. We've said "we'll deal with the bad service because the food is good...." The place is a little busy with online orders but they don't know how to run the restaurant. I paid $20 for an order of their spicy seafood lemongrass soup (I guess you can call it bootleg Tom yum or whatever).... Opened up the bag and noticed the container is filled HALF WAY. There are a some mixed veggies, a few pieces of mussels and squid, and MAYBE half of a shrimp.... Also tried their their red curry with beef for $16, which was somewhat more reasonable. Not the best but at least it wasn't as disappointing as the bootleg Tom Yum soup. Never again. read more

Staff is nice but the food is terrible. I wanted to like this place, but the food is not authentic Thai. And it is hands down the worst I've ever had. I had several dishes. The fried tofu was dry and the plum peanut sauce was congealed. I had the pad thai, basil chicken and thom yum soup as well. They were all sickly sweet from some sort of red sauce (sweet and sour maybe?) that they put into all three dishes - not a hint of lemongrass, ginger or any of the delicate flavors one expects with thai food. I paid extra for shrimp in my thom yum soup and received what amounted to about 5 tiny salad shrimps. Visited on a Sunday afternoon for thai cuisine. My hostess and waitress was pleasant and courteous in making suggestions. She was very nice and I was happy with her service. She suggests the pad thai noodles with beef, she did say it was regular noodles. But she boasted about how good it was. The plate was less than par, first impressions was a plate of angel hair pasta with sweet ketchup, with overdone beef pieces and what I think was microwaved. I heard the microwave beep, I'm sure of it. What was delicious was the crispy shrimp appetizer and sweet tea. I was not impressed with the hot sauces stationed by the entrance. I got to try their pad Thai and pad see ew lunch specials here and both were delicious! They pack a lot of noodles into the lunch containers. The pad see ew had delicious tender chicken with broccoli and a light sauce. The pad Thai was great as well, with a good balance of chicken, sprouts, and garnished with crushed peanuts and lime. On a scale to "very poor - very good", this place is good. Give it 3.5 stars if I could. Delivery from GrubHub usually takes 60 mins during the weekdays and 30 mins on a Sunday. I have ordered here a few times and you get a decent meal for a lower price compared to other Thai restaurants. I'd recommend the Lunch Specials menu for a good deal. The overall quality and taste of food could be better. Not the best but will satisfy your Thai craving if you're on a budget. I always ask for chopsticks in my meal descriptions otherwise I don't get utensils. The calamari was way too crispy for my liking; taste a little burnt without being burnt. We came today in the snow storm. Super attentive waitress and waiter. Super polite and kind. The food tasted amazing. The Thai iced was actually in a full glass, not the tall skinny ones you'll find at other thai's restaurant. Bae ordered drunken noodles for the first time and loved it. Her portion was big! I ordered the beef Thai style salad- it was sooooo flavorful, however the portion was smaller than expected. I then ordered the fried vanilla Ice cream and she ordered the purple rice in coconut milk. I've had two scoops of fried ice cream at other Thai places for the same price of $5. Ordered take out of their curry puffs, as suggested, plus the vegetable Pad See Eww, which included firm bits of tofu, which I enjoyed. My SO isn't fond of Thai, so I ended up being the guinea pig and I loved it! The food is slightly comparable to a mid ranged HK Thai restaurant and does the trick if you're having a craving for Thai and don't want to trek all the way into the city. I would def order from them again and convince the SO to take a chance and order something too. P.S. I decided to try this place based on the favorable reviews some of my Yelp friends gave it. I've been struggling to find good Thai (or any Asian for that matter) in the Bronx so I was excited to try this place. The restaurant itself is small but they make good use of the space. They do take-out so when you walk into the restaurant you'll see the take-out counter to the right with the dining room to the left. The decor is simple - plain wooden tables and chairs with Asian touches on the walls. There is a big-screen television on the wall that was set to a channel playing music. The menu has a large variety of dishes but isn't too overwhelming. We started simple with the spring rolls - the dough had that good crispy/chewy balance and they had ample filling. It came with duck sauce to dip which had a mild spice to it; I was pleasantly surprised! For my main I had the garlic shrimp which was shrimp stir-fried with garlic sauce and mixed veggies, it came with a generous portion of white rice on the side. My dish was super tasty - filled with flavor and not overly salty at all. Service was good - our waitress was attentive and friendly. Overall, I had a great experience at Honey's and I'm glad I found an Asian restaurant close to home that's not just take-out. Definitely worth a return trip. read more

Man, this place is great! From start to finish, whenever I go to a Thai Restaurant, I always measured their quality by ordering their summer roll and Thai Iced Tea. The delicacy of the summer roll skin and sweetness of the tea. Their summer roll were very good, but their green papaya salad and their coconut shrimp soup was the best!!! Super good! I went off of the review of the person saying the food is better now. We ordered : Pad Thai : the noodles are not pad Thai noodles and the sauce was not the right sauce/ingredients. The best part of it was the fried tofu. They added vegetables which was not complementary Fried rice : the flavor was off, we added siracha and crushed garlic to eat it. Calamari : dry and rubbery. I was very pleased to find this place, and in the heart of the Bronx. It's seems practically impossible to find good food in this borough, with options other than McDonald and Boston Market on every corner. So when I started my search for local Thai food, I was so excited to stumble upon Honey's Thai Pavilion. First off I called ahead to find out of they were able to make chicken drunken noodles without oyster sauce (allergy) and they were more than willing to accommodate this request. I also asked if they had salmon red curry and they confirmed this as well. However when we arrived we found out that they don't use salmon to make the red curry. Therefore we had to go with the chicken instead. ( that's the only reason why I dropped a star, I do like accuracy. Especially since we had to travel to this location) Other than that the service was very good, our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. I called, they had their own delivery person, and placed my order on the phone since I hate diverting money to app developer CEOs. Normally I'm all about the noodle, and stick the meat pieces into my kids' dishes, but the shrimp was delectable, and I loved how thinly sliced and well seasoned the beef was, I ended up eating all the proteins in my plate. The stand out for me was the pad won sen (glass noodles with mushroom, scallion and carrot) - a dish I'd never heard of before but was so light, savory, with a delicate wok-charred perfume, I devoured it!
