I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to Tana Thai, located in the Bronx. The location is quite secluded, which offers a quiet atmosphere. The food was good, though not outstanding. I appreciated the service, particularly the lady who was serving and assisting customers simultaneously; she was very pleasant. The ambiance was acceptable but nothing special. However, my main concern is the pricing. It was just two of us, and the bill amounted to nearly $200. We had two beers, two appetizers, main courses, and one dessert. In our opinion, this place is quite expensive for what was offered. Would I return? Unfortunately, no. read more

Had a wonderful experience tonight at this quaint Thai restaurant! Pookie took great care of us. We ordered the butterflied shrimp for an appetizer! I had chicken panang and my friend had Thai fried rice with chicken. We cleaned are plate! Everything was sooo fresh! Can't wait to come back & Pookie highly suggests I try the green curry next time. Thanks for a great dinner! read more

I always see this spot in passing and think it looks cute from the outside. I came in out the cold randomly today as I wait for my rental. The ambiance is intimate and welcoming. I like it as it's cozy and comforting. This is my first time trying Thai food and I just unlocked what my 48 year old palette has been missing. I'll definitely come back. read more

So very good! Friendly staff! Cool decor! Glad we celebrated husband's 75th birthday here! Highly recommend the curry!

To start with the service was great, very attentive making sure we were alright from start to finish. Cozy atmosphere! I ordered the Drunken Noodles, which was super flavorful with the perfect level of spicy. The green tea was even delicious!! I will definitely be coming back or ordering from here again to take back to Queens! read more

Tana Thai has been my favorite local Thai restaurant for almost 10 years. I used to order every Friday night and now I order once a month. It is also my favorite place to order food when I have family and friends over to visit. Tonight I ordered the vegetable drunken noodles and the Thai spring rolls, 10/10 as always. read more

Sandwiched between a juice shop, an auto body shop just two doors down and a closed-down storefront is Tana Thai on Eastchester Rd in the Morris Park section of The BX. Not that I'm a Thai food master- or my sisters, but Tana T. made the cut for our hangout to have a meeting of the minds and talk about a planned trip in a few months. I do know (from what I've read and heard) that Thai food ranges from tasty, to fragrant with lemongrass, ginger, lime aromatics to sweet to salty and beyond. Tana's inside is dramatic but calming. Has hard wood flooring, rectangular dark stone-faced walls, ceiling wood beams and plants. Their extensive menu is flexible and includes something for everyone at reasonable prices. Our Papaya Salad, all-veggie dumplings and veggie spring roll appetizers were nice starters. Thai Iced Tea that my twin sister and I each had was nice and so was my naturally sweet coconut water with heavenly-soft coconut meat. Two of my sisters shared a chicken dish while my twin enjoyed her Shrimp Pad Thai. My lightly-battered Tilapia strips were meaty and delicate served with veggies in a garlic+pepper sauce. Yum! The Pistachio+Ricotta cake and the Chocolate+Hazelnut my sisters ordered came out frozen and mentioned it to Pookie which she warmed up. I appreciate her honesty when she mentioned these aren't made in-house. This small strip might be unflattering to some, but Tana Thai was a very nice surprise. Plus, it's the food and friendly service from Pookie which pulled in the bigger draw. I'm not striving to be a Thai food connoisseur- but flavors were impressively on target. It was simple satisfaction and the heat/spiciness we chose, didn't knock our heads off. read more

By far the best Thai food in the Bronx. I have been a regular since 2022 and the service and food have remained consistently great. Highly recommend the vegetable curry puffs and drunken noodles. The inside of the restaurant also delivers a cozy and warm ambience that make dining in especially enjoyable. read more

I don't know what's going on with Thai places in the Bronx. Last time I ordered from here, and had also visited, I liked the food although way too expensive, but this time ordering through UberEATS, I did not even like the food. Ordered Drunken noodles with shrimp and beef, Pad Thai with chicken and beef, green curry mix seafood, chive dumplings, pistachio cake, Snapple which I thought was tea but turned out to be fruit punch. The Drunken noodles were spicy with no other flavor, only a few shrimp or pieces of beef, the Pad Thai tasted almost exactly the same although a worse flavor I cannot even identify. The green curry was a sickening pea color with hardly any coconut flavor and as thin as watered down soup with few pieces of vegetables or seafood. They only gave a half cup of rice compared with a cup that most places give. The chive dumplings were good though, deep fried layers of chive and rice flour, I had never had those before. But I paid $105 for this food and was very disappointed. read more

0/3 Food + Beverages; 0/1 Value; 1/1 Service I've tried Tana Thai previously was I was disappointed, but I retried it in case it was an off day for one of the only Thai restaurants in Morris Park. The restaurant itself is really charming in terms of atmosphere and well kept. I imagine it would be a cute place for a casual date night or lunch. I opted for take out and the staff was organized, efficient, and quick. However, unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired and I reckon was even worse this time around. I got the basil fried rice ($15.95) and the tom ka soup ($9.95). The tom kha soup didn't look appetizing and ultimately was not given that it was not fresh, and despite being chicken, it had an overwhelming fishy and stale flavor. The basil fried rice was rather bland and the rice was very clumpy rather than individual pieces of rice that had been well seasoned and fried. Likewise, it did not taste that fresh. While I really want to support local businesses, it's hard to overlook the flaws at Tana Thai. The prices are really high given the portion sizes airing on the side of small to average, and the poor quality simply does not justify the price at all. I imagine the prices are high given there aren't many competing Thai restaurants in the area. read more

This is a small space with big Thai taste! You'll find this tucked away Thai place past some autobody shops between some nameless busines and a Dunkin Donut joint. Public bus transportation is available. The shrimp pad Thai was delicious and I didn't expect such quality from this area across the street from Montefiore Einstein Campus in the Morris Park section of the Bronx, But my expectations were premature and flat out wrong ! Don't skimp on the Vegetable DRUNKEN NOODLES! Delicious sticky noodles with a savory authentic Thai quality taste!! The price is affordable and the food is mighty good. I did a take out and when I got there to pick up there are approx 6-7 tables so it's not huge and I'm not sure but I would recommend making a reservation on the weekends if your gonna dine in. That's it! A small place with big Thai taste! read more

Service was really good and the food was just as good. I would gladly recommend this place. The host came to check on everyone constantly.

Best authentic Thai resto in the Bronx. Quick service and great customer service. Drunken noodles is a fav.

Have ordered from here a couple times over the years and the food is delicious however you are rushed over the phone, they're not the most polite or patient, and the portions are very small for what they charge. read more

The food is consistently delicious. The flavors are authentic and the spices are authentic. My favorites are the drunken noodle, the ginger sauce entree with chicken, the glass noodles, the wonton soup, and the shrimp rolls. There is nothing that I've ordered from Tana Thai that did not taste good. The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere. The service is excellent because the owner of the establishment is usually on the premises and she is a joy to chat with. The food is worth every penny. I highly recommend this place. read more

I went there this afternoon and food was amazing. Tom yum soup was perfect and the waiter came by not too many times where I was annoyed but enough that I wasn't ignore. it's quiet and you can tell they put effort into the food. It's dimly lit and has perfect music playing in the background. Definitely stop by read more

I often order delivery from Tana Thai. The food comes fast. And it is always delicious and healthy.

Amazed to find authentic Thai food in the E. Bronx. My companion had the drunken noodles and orders takeout here all the time. I had the pineapple seafood curry which was delightfully spicy with the pineapple adding sweetness. No additional sugar! Same with the Thai Iced Tea...most places overdo the sugar not here--I could taste the tea quality. Really sweet server and owner made this a resto. I can't return fast enough to. read more

No wontons in soup! I waited 30 minutes for take out and was given cold broth with broken crumbled noodles and large pieces of floating lettuce!! This couldn't be called a soup it appeared to be leftover remnants at the bottom of a pot that were dumped in a container. Horrible! I want refund. read more

This is the only Mom & Pop restaurant in walking distance so I gave it shot. It's tiny but mighty! Plenty of seating in the dining room at lunch time. We tried a few different things. The drunken noodles were really good. I was expecting it to be hotter, and when it wasn't I asked for some chili oil. The server brought me a powdered hot spice mix. That did it. It was perfectly spicy after that. We tried the Thai sesame chicken. That was excellent. Also tried the Tom Kha soup with chicken. Thicker than I'm used to, but quite tasty. Heavy on the fish sauce. I liked it. I had the ginger honey tea, and it was super flavorful. The server told me it was made in house and I believe it. Would order any of these items again. As an afterthought I got the fried bananas. Didn't really enjoy them. Too much dough in the wrapper and not enough fruit, kind of dry, but the honey sauce helped. Great customer service, nice renovated interior, and good Thai food. I'll be back. read more

best in the area, great customer service and even better food. chive dumplings are great!

The good: - The food tastes amazing! The dishes were flavorful and spicy without being too overbearing. - The curry puff was fresh and hot. - There are ample options to order (calling, direct on their website, and delivery apps) The not so good: - The food is a bit on the expensive side for the neighborhood. - The delivery time for my order took almost 30 mins longer than the estimate. The verdict: Ordering from here is a no brainer! The food is really delicious. It's well worth it for a once in a while indulgence. read more

Tana Thai - Basil Fried Rice, Drunken Noodles, 4 Chicken Curry Puffs - Thai Near Me - Bronx, New York

We found this gem on Yelp, and we were surprised that it only had 3 stars! We typically only go to higher rated restaurants, but after reading a few reviews we decided to try this outstanding restaurant. The food was so incredibly delicious and authentic. We started with the Thai Won Ton soup and homemade peanut dressing on our salads. So flavorful and fresh. For our main we had the Thai Basil Eggplant with beef and the assorted vegetables with Chicken. We were looking for healthy options with low sugar. These were the perfect dishes for us. Light, fresh and bursting with flavor. The eggplant was spiced and cooked to perfection. The assorted vegetables with Chicken was also cooked to perfection. The white rice was traditional Thai and it was the perfect compliment. For dessert we shared the sticky rice with mango, this was heavenly. The texture of the rice with the sweet mango was beyond delicious. The atmosphere was charming. The server was originally from Thailand and we loved talking to her. She made us feel so welcome and put great big smiles on our faces. Although we did not meet the chef, we were told he was from Thailand. Having travelled to Thailand several times we found the dishes to be very authentic. The prices were very affordable and it made the experience just perfect. Thank you for the great experience. We can't wait to return. read more
