I love the fry rice. We ordered garlic chicken which was really crispy and garlicy, seafood fried rice was so much seafoods on it which i like the most, dimsum which is shrimp shumai and aoyp dumplings and shrimp in bean curd and chinese broccoli. The consistency and texture of everything was good, but the flavor was seriously lacking - I was struggling through my meal. Service and everything else was fine. The cashier at the front, who is very nice, always remembers my order when I walk or call in, she even remembers the type of free soda that we choose with our takeout! Its definitely a well loved restaurant by many. I went to China Pavilion during lunch time and found a lot of people ordering and eating. This place is a gold mine. I ordered the lunch special eggplant in garlic sauce with vegetable fried rice ($6.75). Overall I found the food pretty decent in terms of taste. The portions are pretty big. You can share an order with someone else still be full from it. Waiting time for food wasn't bad considering how crowded it was. I only waited 10 minutes. All of the combos come with pork fried rice which is average, as well as pork egg rolls which is also really bready. Portion sizes are average to large. probably enough food for 2 people. I use to eat here all the time, this was my go to place for Chinese food. Until last night I placed an order for delivery and once the food got to me I realized they sent the wrong thing. I called back and spoke to the lady she told me she will send the correct order. So i took the wrong order and put it in the trash because I obviously didn't order that and had no one to give it to. Once the delivery man got to my house with the correct food he didn't not want to hand me over the food until I gave him the order I had thrown in the trash. I told him i put the food in the trash and he he said "if you don't give me the other order you won't get this one" I had to take the food out the trash and give it to him just so that I can get my correct order. I explained to him how it was the restaurant mistake and they shouldn't be taking food back once the food is in someone's house. I told him we just got out of an pandemic and you're really here taking food back from someone home. I obviously had opened the order to check that's how I knew it was the wrong one. He told me he will throw the order in the trash at the restaurant. Which I know 100% if that was the case he wouldn't have made such a big deal to get the food back. I've gotten take-out from here various times and I can say the food didn't disappoint. It was nothing special, just some good old greasy Chinese food. This is just typical Chinese fare and the prices are pretty good. The food comes out really fast. I only give it 3 stars though because they once forgot the egg roll with my order (I only realized after taking my order home) and one of the ladies who works the counter is sort of mean (the older one, the younger one is super nice!). Everyone in the neighborhood knows to visit and order from China Pavillion, and for good reason: it's cooks and owners maintain an obviously competitive and consistent standard that results in nearly all of their dishes being well seasoned and remarkably well cooked. Having had some horrific experiences with Chinese take-out restaurants in the past, China Pavilion's food and service were somewhat of a breath of fresh air for me. The food is always fresh and hot and the lady who takes the orders is very pleasant - always attentive and always smiling.
