Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Bronx, New York

food is amazing second time coming here and I love it I would recommend too anyone in the parckchester area

Placed an order via grubhub and waited 1.5 hours. Called to inquire about status and were told to speak with the manager since he / she handles online orders. Two minutes, later the order was cancelled. Why on earth wouldn't you cancel the order sooner or call to tell us there was an issue? Would avoid this place - at a minimum, it should be barred from online delivery services. read more

Good quality chicken, tasty food. Used to order from another spot on castle hill all my life but the chicken is always tiny pieces, and dirty chicken. never feel rushed to order and food always comes quick and hot read more

This place was a recommended by a friend and after my experience this became my new Chinese take out spot! A menu with variety and everything comes hot and the rice is flavorful 9/10 read more

The Food was outstanding, I ordered the Kung Peo Chicken with Rice and an Egg Roll. This meal was fresh and delicious. The chicken was tender and the entire dish had taste, not to hot on the spicy side. The egg roll was cooked just perfect and the taste was amazing. The Service was grand and pleasant, very friendly. The Ambiance was a bit different than what I expected, you order your food at a window and wait patiently. Not a fancy place, just a a eatery with great food. They do have a few booths if you wish to dine in but I had mine to go. Overall I recommend this place to all who like Chinese Food. read more

Just ordered through grub hub, I usually have no issue with this place but for some reason today the delivery guy demanded more tip money despite getting tip by default. this is actually very rude. I never mind giving tip but I give what I can every time I order. For someone who works with clients and get tips I never demand it but when I get a tip I'm just happy they thought to give me something. The delivery guy was completely disgusting. I called to complain and the women on the phone seemed like she didn't even care. Lucky star if this is how you treat your customers I feel so bad for your businesse. I will no longer buy from you guys. For those who order through grub hub, beware. I high suggest Jens Chinese food or any other in the area..lucky just needs to fix their latitude before anything else. read more

Ordered Spanish steak with fried rice and it was disgusting! Meat was tasteless and only 2 tiny pieces that looked like rubber. I had to send back so I give them one star for refunding my money. I wasn't lucky ordering from them and never will..... read more

Great food. Very satisfied with their Chinese food

The chicken dumplings were good. The bbq spare ribs are meaty, but I will order them well done next time. Delivery through Grubhub was quick. read more

Lots of hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants in The Bronx. You might call 'em takeout joints, the Britons say takeaway, I call 'em restaurants. Maybe this one was special because I lived a 2 minute walk from it or maybe because it was the only Chinese restaurant within 14 blocks that passed the health exam with flying colors (and those 14 blocks housed a good 70 places, easy), but Lucky Star ranks as one of the coolest places I've ever eaten. Got to know the people who worked there and, man, the show was just as good as the food. They sound rude on the phone, but they're ok peoples in there. Ling was a smiley person but if you had the balls to take a knife to the misspelled awning, you were in trouble. I once saw this dude run 2 blocks in seconds and grab this kid like he was avenging a murder. It was at that moment when I thought "damn, no wonder their delivery is so fast!" I'd get their chicken chunks pretty much everyday as they were tasty and cheap and made great appetizers for any occasion. The only problem was you had to call and check to see if they had snow peas that day. The answer was usually no, but that's why you had 3 other places within 70 feet. Prompt, delicious, and a delight for the frugal. Get the fried dumplings and some french fries. read more

I really like the food from here, I also love the fact that they are on grub hub. I ordered chicken with broccoli meal and it came with a egg roll and pork fried rice. I have to agree with the other reviewers the dumplings here are really good. You get 8 dumplings per order. I had the spare ribs here and they are also tasty. read more

Holy mother of dumplings!!!! First time ordering from here and the food was amazing. The steamed pork dumplings were delicious!!! I also ordered chicken broccoli in garlic sauce with brown rice and I could not put my fork down. The prices are perfect in conjunction with the amount of food they provide. The brown rice was cooked to perfection, not too dry not too sticky. I will definitely be ordering from here every time I crave Chinese food! read more

I've tried three times with this place. This time my order was missing the Iced teas, not to mention the rude delivery boy, also the food was bland and had more vegetables than meat. Will not be ordering from this place again. read more

My family is very happy they were able to open again. This is our go to Chinese takeout. Food is delicious and fresh. The dumplings are very good. read more

This is my family's favorite Chinese restaurant. The staff has always been kind and courteous with us in person or over the phone and there are times they've thrown in a free egg roll or canned soda. The delivery person is always a pleasure. Also the food is great and the portions are good as well. I definitely recommend this place to all Bronxites. read more

O star the food so bad I put it in the trash after the first spoon I spent $35 not even a soda to wash the nasty food down please dont eat there plus the delivery guy asked me how much is it I told him $34 and he want $2 tips and the change for delivery read more

I give this restaurant a big fat Zero !! I wish I can put no stars for these people. Very very rude and unprofessional to there customers, they don't care if you have a newborn or toddler at home they still want you to come outside and get the food and leave your child alone. I called to placed an order and had let them know that the delivery person gonna have to come to the door because I have a newborn and I was alone, the lady gonna go ahead and tell me well go call somewhere else. Like are you serious? Very very unprofessional and there food ain't that good either I only usually get fries and wings Because that's the only thing they can do good. I hope this restaurant gets shut down cuz they are really rude and they really don't care about you. read more

The best Chinese food in the Bronx. The staff is super friendly the food is always clean and fresh. Only place I eat. Thank you as always.

Don't know why this is not starred. There beef and broccoli top 10 I have ever had. I don't review as often as I should, but again food was memorable even 5 months later. read more

The best Chinese food I've ever had. Quick delivery, and if they're backed up they let you know. The only reason I docked a star is because they increased their prices. Some dinner combos are almost $10. If I'm willing to throw down that much money I do, because they're just so damn good. Aside from the price increase, their food is the bomb dot com. read more

Food is disgusting and taste old. Fries are oily and rice is watered down. Chicken taste old as if it was cooked more than once.

The Food seemed a bit pricey but after getting my order delivered was more than satisfied. My Shrimp and Eggplant in Garlic sauce was absolutely delicious and their pork with Mushrooms was also more than tasty. Will order again especially since they deliver all the way down the end of White Plains road @ Shorehaven! Really enjoyed my Eggplant dish read more

Best Chinese spot in Parkchester, great and friendly ppl and quick delivery when they're not busy.

Friendly staff. Tasty food. A+ rating from the health department ! :)

First off i dont eat this fake dirty "Chinese food," so why my wife would order for me i have no idea. BUT, the delivery guy was a rude prick who felt he was too good to come upstairs(like all the other delivery guys do) despite me buzzing him in. The service from this place is horrible. You want real Chinese food, go down to canal st (Chinatown) read more

I found this restaurant via grub hub and I had to say I was not disappointed that the food was very good. The delivery time was way shorter and grub hub had indicated and the eggroll was actually very good and I am fairly picky about eggrolls. I am looking forward to using them again read more

Placed multiple orders with this restaurant and always receive a very skimpy portion of protein with a ton of rice. They also messed up my order and offered an unsatisfactory resolution. I order for the convenience of it but I will not be ordering from here again. read more

Highly overrated the food here is terrible they use old oil to cook their food and the meat is under cooked.

The food is better than average for bronx chinese food places; be mindful that the "free soda" promotions don't work if you use the online ordering system. I learned this the hard way, and they said "oh well". read more

Good food and good services!! Restaurant looks very clean , staff very friendly.best one in Bronx! read more

See all

Took quicker than they said, food was really good! Just slightly pricey. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, will def order again.

Everyone I've told about this place has switched over to order from here ...prices are good and the food doesn't get any better for a takeout place ...note you must order the cheese wontons ....can't go wrong read more

Literally my favorite Chinese joint in the Bronx. Usually fast service and the food is better than most.

I have never been in the place, but I ordered from them so many times that I feel safe to write a review. The delivery always arrive quickly. And the food is exactly what I expect from a Chinese fast food place. And when comparing it to other Chinese food places who deliver, they turned to be my first call when I feel like Chinese. I can't say that they have the best Chinese food, since I used to order from a place in Manhattan that was little more expensive, but had amazing food, but I can say that when I feel like I need to east ASAP, I know this place will deliver good food. read more

Delivery was fast and the delivery driver was very polite! I ordered chicken and bean curd with brown rice and it was delicious!!

When I get my food they are so nice, staff are really nice, food is so gooddd the best restaurant ever

I love it. There food has a great taste. They are also very fast with delivery. Only thing is that when you order via grubhub, they do not offer any specials like if you spend certain amount of monies you get a free soda or something like that. Other than that, the food and service is great. Also they are very kind and attentative on the phone. read more

I order from here all the time on grubhub. It is the only Chinese food that's good that delivers to me. I love their eggs rolls.
