One of my favorite types of fish is catfish. I decided to order the catfish basket with fries, and boy was I disappointed. This catfish is NOT catfish. I obviously can't say for sure what it is, but it's very similar to a type of swai fish which originates from Asia, usually Vietnam. True catfish has certain ridges along the back, is very flaky, and has a distinct "fish" smell. On the other hand, swai is very flat, almost like whiting with a clear line of separation on the front making it easy to pull apart. Swai also curls up at the ends when fried which is apparent in my photo. It also doesn't really have any scent or particular taste and takes on whatever seasoning is on it. The basket came with fries with Cajun fries which were just your typical fries with Cajun or old bay on them. Those were okay. I also ordered the hush puppies which were also okay. They came with a "spicy mayo" which seems to be a mix of mayo with some sort of buffalo hot sauce mixed in. I'd perhaps try something else and give this spot a second chance in the future, but for sure won't ever get the "catfish" again and wouldn't recommend anyone else to do so either.
