For a Chinese buffet, this place was great. I like this one better than China Star on Central Park Avenue by Barnes and Noble in Yonkers. I didn't partake in the hibachi table, but that looked good - the sushi selections were basic but there was a decent variety, and there was a lot of seafood. The staples were good - although I am continuing my elusive search for peanut butter chicken from the Chinese buffets of my youth. I swear when I find a place with it, it'll get 5 stars. The lo mein here was in peanut butter sauce - which was different, but didn't really scratch that itch. They had banana pudding, which is a favorite of mine at Chinese buffets. No reservations needed. Walked in on a busy Sunday afternoon and got seated right away. The food is decent, it can sometimes be a hit or miss. Multiple options such as Sushi, Seafood, and Ice-Cream. My favorite of all is the spinach lasagna. The server always makes sure my drink is refilled and if a dish ran out, the restaurant wastes no time to replace it with something new. Growing up my family would always hit up an all-you-can-eat chinese buffet for a Sunday dinner just to give the parents a break from cooking. I was soooooo happy to find one near us because those businesses have really disappeared over the years. The establishment was clean and the staff seem very friendly. You walk in and get seated immediately and off you go to get your first round of delights. The place has so many steam tables full of Chinese-American dishes. They do keep some American/kid-friendly staples like wings, nuggets, onion rings, and fries. All the way in the back they have a sushi chef replenishing some standard rolls like california, tuna, salmon plus a few others. Beside the sushi station they also have a table for "hibachi" where you collect all your raw veggies and raw proteins then hand over the plate to the hibachi chef where he will prepare your selected items on a flat top with any sauce you choose from the list. Very cool spot where the whole family can find something. The dessert table is so plentiful with options and they also have an ice cream freezer full of cold treats! Once at the table, they will take your drink orders and clear out your plates. Once you are done they hand you the check and you pay at the table. I will be honest, I didn't enjoy everything I put on my plate but I did find things and was happy enough to come back. This was an average buffet for me to be honest. There was a lot of variety in the food but unfortunately, most of it didn't really seem to be seasoned. I paid for the dinner option since there would be more food but I don't really know if it was worth it. I was looking forward to having crabs and other specialities but they weren't the most appetizing. The crabs were too fried and I wasn't really able to get any of the meat out. A lot of the other food didn't seem to have enough seasonings on them or they were also too fried and had too much batter. What's really appealing though, would be the number of options and the low price. I would just be careful of the oysters and sushi as they did not really taste fresh. There are more seafood options brought out at dinner, but just the lunch selection alone is pretty satisfying. At the end of the meal, there are a bunch of fruit options if you want to balance out some of the fried food, some cakes, but they had a case of ice cream treats which was unique, so I grabbed an ice cream sandwich and a cup of ice cream. Large variety of fried items all look very good. Whatever cut of beef that reads steak don't bother it looks overcooked and very dry. Avoid noodles and rice as it's a buffet and they want you to fill up on that. Soups are above warm not hot. Be careful. Hibachi is ok but not good enough to try again. No ginger no sesame oil. The cuts of meat are tough. But considering it's fresh and very hot it's ok. Staff is inattentive. Host hates his life and yours as well. I'm not here for friends. My first mistake was to walk in with expectations. There is no actual menu unless you're choosing the Hibachi meal which looked pretty deserted while we were there. We walked in during the week and opted for the lunch buffet. Since we walked in at 3pm and the dinner buffet started at 3:30pm, the host tried to upsell us on the dinner price. We stuck with lunch figuring it would not take us that long to choose our food. When the dinner buffet started items were marked as dinner only. Realistically, they weren't things we wanted to eat so we didn't miss out. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was ok. I'd strongly suggest that you stick to what you like or seems safe. They had a station with soups that could have used a cover or four but perhaps my expectations were too high. I'm usually not a huge fan of buffets. Food options in the immediate area are very fast food based so we chose this place as it was more of a dine in option and were really hangry. Lol. It will do in a pinch but I can't really recommend. The Calamari is also very good, tender and seasoned well. I've been here a few times since they opened and I've enjoyed the food and the staff has been pleasant on every occasion.
