Cheese Toast, salad , Clam Chowder
    Ray N.

Came here on a Saturday night around 745 pm (they close at 9 pm). It wasn't busy at all but when I got to the front, there was one patron waiting to order. No one was there and he waited about 3 minutes (when I arrived) before someone finally came from the kitchen to take his order. Been going to this Dale Road location for a long time and have seen managers and waitresses come and go, I can honestly say this is not run as efficiently as other Sizzler locations as comparison (Manteca and Turlock). 3 stars So my wife got herself the salad bar and I got the sirloin steak 8 oz with AYCE shrimp. My wife firstly, loves Sizzlers clam chowder- some days it's good and some days it's not so good. Tonight, she enjoyed it so much she got 3 bowls of it. 5 stars. As for her salad, she didn't eat much of it and said something about it tasted wrong. She can't pinpoint it but she left the salad. 3 stars As for my steak and ayce shrimp - 8 oz was tiny but I went for the smaller cut since I was more interested in the fried shrimp. I do like they brought back the Sizzler steak since it's much sweeter than A1. Shrimp has been consistently the same since I remember having it since I was in high school competing with friends who can eat the most fried shrimp. Sadly, I'm not a teen anymore so I can't eat as many extra plates of shrimp as I use to. Entree score: 3.5 stars Service- Yannie was our waitress and though she has a nice demeanor, she was just an okay server. After getting our drinks, she asked if we wanted cheese toast which we always get. Well my wife was waiting for it to eat with her clam chowder. Fact that we sat right next to the kitchen and salad bar, Yannie didn't come by often and my wife had to ask the assistant manager about our cheese bread before we finally got it. As for me, Yannie didn't come by to check on us and when I finally got her attention about another order for fried shrimp. I think a waitress should be aware if someone orders AYCE shrimp and make sure to come more than usual to see if the patron (me) wanted more shrimp. Service 3 stars Overall, Sizzler has always been my comfort food restaurant for "cheap" steak. Would I come back? For sure, despite the inconsistent service which I'm use to in this Dale Road location .

Sizzler is an OG classic. I come here for the comfort food and the nostalgia. It brings me back so much memories eating here with my family back in the days. I ordered the prime rib burger and it was made right. Can't go wrong with the salad bar with hot and cold food selections. Service was great! Ambiance was classic old school style Sizzler.

8oz Steak & Grilled Shrimp Skewers

My wife and I decided on Sizzler for dinner tonight. Initially, I planned to get the All-You-Can-Eat Salad Bar ($19.95) but changed my mind and went with the steak and two shrimp skewers, adding the salad bar for an extra $9.99. My wife ordered the steak and lobster ($38.99). I started off with the salad bar, which is always a safe bet--lots of fresh options, and the watermelon and strawberries were very good. The Texas toast, however, was a letdown. It's definitely gone down in quality; the grilled topping was overly salty and not as good as I remember. I upgraded my steak to the 8 oz (for about $4 more), while my wife stayed with the 6 oz--but both steaks looked the same size. When I asked, I was told steaks shrink while cooking... okay, sure. Her meal was good overall, and she really enjoyed the garlic mashed potatoes. My steak wasn't exactly medium, but close enough. The real issue was the shrimp skewers--they tasted overly fishy and were inedible. The waitress offered to replace them, but I declined. At the end, she kindly gave me an order of fried shrimp to go, which I'll try tomorrow and hope for the best. If you're coming for the All-You-Can-Eat Salad Bar, I'd say yes--it's worth it. As for anything else, I'll probably stick to just the salad bar in the future. On the positive side, our waitress was friendly and checked on us often. Plenty of seating at 7:30 PM and TVs overhead if you want to catch a game. Restaurant was clean and the staff was constantly cleaning and restocking the salad bar.

I love coming here on Saturday afternoons that way I only eat one meal a day. They have everything the best salad bar, soup, chicken, wings, tacos, spaghetti, and the best tasting iced tea with lemon. My wife and I love going here when we had an eaten breakfast because we got everything that we want from drinks to soup chicken salad, different kinds of dessert and many other healthy foods. Our server, Cassie is absolutely fantastic. I always tried to sit in the area she's working and we've grown to have a good bond. And she always wears the biggest smile.

Staff was super friendly, went out of their way to make sure the tables were tidy, and refilled drinks really quick. The restaurant is smaller than you expect it to be, but it is cozy, friendly, and not overly loud. We only had a 10 minute wait when we arrived and they were packed. Our waiter Kyle was on point, introduced himself and dropped the special of the day with gusto. If I hadn't already had a ton of carbs for the day I would have gone with it. Ended up ordering the scallops, and fried zucchini appetizers. Scallops are served almost like a soup. The sauce in the bowl was to die for. I'm thinking white wine, and lemon were the major components. It was phenomenal. Fried zucchini was super tasty and is coming home with us. I'd swear it was enough to feed 4 people. For mains, we ordered pot roast and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Wife loved the pasta and chicken. Surprisingly enough she ate it all, none to go which is super rare for her. Pot roast was fantastic. Mashed potatoes were on point, the mixed vegetables were amazing. Had an overnight work trip that had me in Modesto so I was trying to find something fun to eat…read more After a bit of research I found this place. I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh. I think for the price point the burger should have been great, but sadly I can't say it was great or even good. I'd likely not return.

I'm not a BIG fan of sweet potato fries usually, but I was wanting to try something different. They were perfectly cooked! My burger was cooked exactly how I wanted it. I know Texas Roadhouse has enough different foods to please everybody's different tastes. I called in ahead and got my name on the waiting list. This is the way to go so you don't have to wait in line a long time. I saw all the raw steaks on display as we entered, and sometimes I pick out my particular steak from the case and let them know. This time I just went in and will order at the table. We get seated and drink orders taken and those tasty bread rolls appear at our table. My guys are hungry so they dig in to those right away. This Texas Roadhouse dining area looks very similar to most all the locations. We order, I start with some appetizers for the crew, the loaded potato skins. I get a ribeye steak, as do some of the other guys. One guy gets the pork chop. We all get Caesar Salads with our meals. The food arrives and it all looks good. My steak is cooked as ordered. When we got to the table, we noticed there were only two plates for our party of three. We asked for an additional plate, he said he would bring one, but then never came back. We had to ask another nearby server if one could be grabbed for us. They grabbed the plate from a stack that was literally two feet away from our table. This was frustrating because what could have been a five second task turned into an inconvenience for us as well as another staff member. Even after we got our food, we were annoyed with the server. We needed drink refills and it felt like he was deliberately ignoring us. There was a group of four young men (around the server's age) who kept ordering rounds of beer sitting at the table next to us. The server kept only going back to that table and helping them out. He would look directly at our table, and then go back to chat with the one next to us. When we were finally able to flag him down for drink and bread refills, he walked away and brought us neither. When he came back to our section, he went straight back to that other table. We asked him a second time for the refills and he acted like we had never received the request in the first place. He also never cleared our table. Usually, when the main dishes came out, the server would take the small plates and remove empty cups and bread baskets. We were left with the empty trays and plates which made our table feel super crowded and dirty. Despite this really annoying service, the food was really good. The kitchen never misses here. I ordered the beef tips, loaded mashed potatoes, and a Caesar salad. The meat was super tender and everything was very flavorful. This evening it was bustling and crowded as usual. It was a little rowdy but nothing unexpected. Hopefully next time will be better!

Some restaurants even go as far as singing happy birthday. We finished our food and sat there for a while waiting for the server, Dolly, who was nowhere to be found. So we started stacking our plates to the side to get ready for the cake. When we finally saw her, we whispered to her that we were ready for the surprise cake. She went back into the kitchen and came out with the cake still in the box and candles still in the package and says out loud "here's your birthday cake" in front of the whole party. We asked her if they had a lighter and lit the candles ourselves. We sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed our cake next to our dirty dishes from our dinner that still have not been collected. They said they can come back when she's back in town again to pick up a voucher. When she went to pick up the voucher, 2 other people were there picking up vouchers for missing orders too. Apparently, it's a common thing that happens. The food itself is decent and price is reasonable for what you're getting. However, the service is horrible from my handful of experiences here.

Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.
